Sir

Goddam!

Realised is the British (and therefore original and correct) spelling of the word.

:)

God Save the Queen.

Thats fine mate, i have a close friend that lives in southwest london town ;) i cant wait to visit there this summer :)

Sir

London's the place to be... avoid tourist traps.

What do you mean exactly by tourist traps? thanks :) My friend was telling me that when i get there she will pick me up from london heathrow but i should avoid a certain kind of taxi because they try to rip tourist off.

This is off topic, it was just a throwaway remark, but now that you mention it the two major cons are:

London Eye (really, don't bother. I've been 3 times (various different girlfriends ) and it's always been a let down)

London Dungeons (it's just like a horror show, not at all the 'British Experience')

For good (and cheap, sometimes free, experiences) go for

Tate Modern Art Gallery

Globe theatre

Walking tour of London

These are much better options and will set you back much less.

i dont see what the big deal is

the OP is right, mac's use a lot of CPU to run flash, and depending on the media being watched, my mac does get hot sometimes while running, for example when im watching HD on youtube

Yeah i cant wait to come to london, my friend actually works at an exclusive night club in london called China White. I have a link, well a review of someone that attended the club its supposed to be really nice. Ive always wanted to visit london i just cant believe its actually about to happen. All i need now would be to own a Range Rover Sport and have a little house in london how awesome would that be.

It really is a fun place. I loved going to Tokyo, Osaka, Hiroshima, and Fukuoka (went for a month last summer).

I'd say when you get your MacBook, definitely invest (if you don't already have one), a good camcorder if you wanna film things if you travel.

College preparation is good, and yes, I am planning on buying a MacBook. Probably in June.

You have friends?! No way!
Anyway, I really like how you first were saying the MacBook isn't good and you don't want it because the fan turns on a bit and then you say that it's great and you can do a lot of stuff on it. Make up your mind, troll.

Hey

you a bike rider I assume?

Yes I ride a 2005 Gixxer 600? and yourself? Honda is my favorite car/bike maker but suzukis to me are just built better. Also Honda CBR's feel like you are riding on a piece of ply wood after a couple hours.

Never said macbooks werent good, just was asking why they had so much trouble with flash sites. Troll? hardly, whats wrong with wanting to know why something you intend to spend $1,599 on has difficulties with flash based websites and how to work around them. I bet its a question that even Mr Jobs is addressing and im sure apple is creating some resolution for the "MINOR" problem. But to be labeled a troll because you question to me seems a bit childish in my opinion.

Just tested it out on Firefox and I can concur, it was using between about 30-50% over both CPUs on my 2 1/2 year old MacBook CD 1.83 Ghz whilst running... Mail, Skype, iTunes, MSN and iCal. It didn't at any point get to the point where the video was lagging or the machine was running slow.

Have you ever turned on your activity monitor while watching youtube? safari uses 50% plus of your CPU just to run a video in youtube. That has nothing to do with my connection which is by the way the fastest you can have. I didnt say they wont play but it uses alot of the resources of the CPU just to play a basic youtube video and someone told me apple was going to release a updated flash so that macbooks in general dont expierence this problem.

So use a different web browser? IE is a piece of ****, you don't see people not buying a Windows computer purely because IE is shipped with it. I'd rather have 50% CPU usage watching the garbage on YouTube than have 10% CPU usage and a browser that pulls its cheeks apart for all manner of web-borne viruses, malware and other crap.

Christ, why don't you just not buy one because you don't like the shade of aluminium or the pitch the cooling fans make...

I think you would have a much bigger perspective on this whole thing about the "trolling" if you were on "OUR" side reading your original post. You stated that you WERE going to buy a Macbook until you saw how the CPU gets used a lot when playing YouTube videos. Come on, YouTube videos? That's really a small deal.
Now, TBH, to decide against an entire platform and computer just because it "appears" to require more CPU power to play flash videos is quite ridiculous. Let alone, you totally sent out a misleading message in your OP as if the Macbook "struggled" playing videos which is NOT true, but you purposely ignored that.
I can't count how many Windows PC's with some awesome specs I have seen in retail stores who's fans were blowing like a hair dryer while just sitting idle. Computers are suppose to get warm and the fans are suppose to ignite even on full blast, but as long as there are no issues with the flash videos playing then then it's stupid to decide against a purchase based on activity monitor readings.
One more thing, you are NEW to the forum, the Mac forums around the web get trolls from jealous PC users all the time and MR is no exception. People create new accounts just to say something negative to annoy the Mac community.
Your friend has a Macbook, have you told him that he wasted his money buying a Mac because it doesn't fare well with flash videos? I'm certain the answer is no, but you came here first.

A better question would've been, "Hey I was playing around with a friend's Macbook, I noticed the CPU gets used a lot when playing flash, is this the norm?" Rather than saying, " I WAS ABOUT TO BUY A MAC UNTIL....". Those are typical Mac trolling lines on this forum. Hope you get the point better now? ;)
