Hey
I could understand where you are coming from because you presented that with intelligence instead of the "dont buy a mac because you are a windows troll" which makes no sense because over 90% of computers/laptops sold use windows so naturally everyone espiecally if you attended a public school/college used windows based computers. To me a troll is someone that compares one product to another like saying Xbox 360 is better than PS3 because....
I never said Windows is better than A Mac because. Stating I was going to buy a mac until I realized how much trouble they had with flash based websites and not comparing it to any other computer to me i wouldnt warrant that as trolling just stating the obvious and wondering why they have that trouble.
I think ppl are to defensive over any question that threatens the perfection aka holyness of an apple product and usually its die hard apple users. Thats just what ive observed in my short time in these forums. Not saying everyone in this forum is like that because i have met some awesome ppl. I just didnt test youtube videos but other movie sites such as www.movie6.net when i was watching movies they wouldnt load but ranther would play a little than buffer than play than buffer etc...
Hey it could have been the particular White Book that I was using and purchasing a Alum would be better for video watching but how would i know if i dont ask why? i also tested another site that sent the cpu into the 120% range because i had a youtube video open but not playing, www.bbcicecream.com site open and was watching a movie on a site i cant list because i dont want to get banned.
I say if you attend to spend money espiecally $1599 on a product you deserve to put it through the gaulet and figure out why its having issues with particular flash based sites and how to fix or get around it before a purchase.
I think you would have a much bigger perspective on this whole thing about the "trolling" if you were on "OUR" side reading your original post. You stated that you WERE going to buy a Macbook until you saw how the CPU gets used a lot when playing YouTube videos. Come on, YouTube videos? That's really a small deal.
Now, TBH, to decide against an entire platform and computer just because it "appears" to require more CPU power to play flash videos is quite ridiculous. Let alone, you totally sent out a misleading message in your OP as if the Macbook "struggled" playing videos which is NOT true, but you purposely ignored that.
I can't count how many Windows PC's with some awesome specs I have seen in retail stores who's fans were blowing like a hair dryer while just sitting idle. Computers are suppose to get warm and the fans are suppose to ignite even on full blast, but as long as there are no issues with the flash videos playing then then it's stupid to decide against a purchase based on activity monitor readings.
One more thing, you are NEW to the forum, the Mac forums around the web get trolls from jealous PC users all the time and MR is no exception. People create new accounts just to say something negative to annoy the Mac community.
Your friend has a Macbook, have you told him that he wasted his money buying a Mac because it doesn't fare well with flash videos? I'm certain the answers is no, but you came here first.
A better question would've been, "Hey I was playing around with a friend's Macbook, I noticed the CPU gets used a lot when playing flash, is this the norm?" Rather than saying, " I WAS ABOUT TO BUY A MAC UNTIL....". Those are typical Mac trolling lines on this forum. Hope you get the point better now?![]()
