“Your package has been released by the government agency” since 9/30. Not hopeful for 10/4 delivery

Good point. I have always bought the phone outright, I know iup can be a struggle, but I understand it’s value and allure. I guess my point was, the way the entire max line slipped so quickly (All colors and storage options) is a pretty good indicator Apple knew exactly what was in store for vast majority of max buyers, not sure why they choose to go this route, but it set a lot of us up for a poor experience for sure. Hopefully we all get them by the end of this week at the latest.
It's my first iPhone & Apple purchase & this experience has turned me off from participating in the upcoming Apple Watch 7 pre-order. I'll just purchase the watch when it's available in store.

Yea wish there was a Apple store near but we are two hours south of the Chicago stores. I agree they knew they would run out fast. Hopefully more will arrive soon. Then there’s the shortage an quadruple costs of shipping containers and pilling up at China and western ports that has driven some companies to grab air delivery. Which lead I believe to shortages of planes out of China for UPS. That’s part of the 4 day delay we are seeing when a batch of phones arrivs down road at airport and is ready for shipping with Chinese custom done. That’s part of the snafu this year as well as increasing demand. Apparently Chinese demand is also way up this year compounding the getting of our phones.

still happy with my Apple Watch 4. Just not that much in the 5-7 models to draw me. But maybe better battery might

Can anyone who has received there’s tell us if we have to sign for the delivery? Apple says they are doing no contact delivery. To me that means you do not have to sign for it. I won’t be home and I’m passed years I printed out and signed a release form.

I did not have to sign for mine but UPS made sure someone was home before they handed it to me. I'm sure they would have retried delivery if someone wasn't here and I hadn't signed a release form.

In my case I had to be home answer the door and state my full name. I did not have to use their computer to actually sign.

Thanks for the info. Another question i have for those that got their phones is what delivery date was accurate? UPS is saying 10/4 but apple site is saying 10/5. Tracking looks like my phone is still in China, but I’m not sure of UPS updates over the weekend.

UPS updates no matter what day of the week it is, this issue is on apples side right now

5 days of this “clearance in progress” nonsense. This is the worst iPhone launch (for me) by far. Again, I’ve been through all of them, including the very first one. Stood in lines for some, pre ordered others, never had on arrive past launch day… I think apple should have been a bit more realistic with the max this year, and possibly delayed it into October like last year, so everyone can have a good experience and not just some. Rant over. I am honestly happy for those that have received theirs, and all of those still riding it out, our day will eventually come… Side note, I know several people that have just picked them up same day at apple stores, if not for already being charged and hit with this obnoxious, weird delay, I would do the same, so those of you without a charge on your card yet, keep checking your stores daily, you’ll get one much faster for sure.
Yea I'm not happy also, what annoys me me the most is how they charged my cc and the iup payment which has also started the warranty period, this should not happen until the day its out for delivery IMO.

I'm done with this form of ordered in the future.

Play it like a game. If you want that Watch 7, pre-order when the store opens and see what date you get. If it's not launch day you can check back on the Apple Store.app to see if you can get an earlier pickup in the store, and check for third party stores for pickup. You can cancel your pre-order if you can get one sooner at a store.

If you stick with the shipping, it is a lot less stressful if you don't refresh a million times like I do. :😁: You will eventually getting a shipping notice.

My plan with the Watch 7 is to wait for a Costco sale or Apple Store refurb. I often have plans like that and end up with a launch day Apple product.

This is unreal. I have not seen the slightest movement since the 30th when it switched to “clearance in progress”

I keep hoping something will change in the morning and alas, nothing does. It’s still showing the estimated date as tomorrow but that’s clearly not happening. Apple shows Wednesday which I still don’t even think is doable at this point.

It’s so insane. And frustrating.

I understand leaving it without seeing someone at home is at the driver's discretion. They leave stuff on my house's front porch on a quiet cul-de-sac where it is quite uncommon to see cars, let alone people. I imagine if a neighbor was having a party with a bunch of cars and people around the driver might make a different decision.

The driver did leave my wife's launch day phone on our front porch with no one home.

My wife’s phone was left by the front door and the driver rang the bell then left. The other drive that delivered my son’s phone just left it at the front door and never rang the door bell.

In retrospect, I'll take your wise counsel. Thanks for the input.

Any updates on your end or still the BS “clearance in progress” garbage?

the ups tracking says tomorrow is the scheduled delivery but if I go into the full tracking it just says check back tomorrow… (which apparently tomorrow never comes considering it’s been showing that since the 29th)

Same BS for sure. I know a lot are hopeful tomorrow will be the day, mine says the same thing… I would hope for tomorrow, but one things for sure, no check point is recorded and not posted on the ups track logs (one theory I have is Apple wanted that scan before phones are actually ready to ship, so they could get a MASSIVE cash influx for reporting, consider how many of us are in this strange boat together, millions I’m sure). Our phones are all still in China, some time this week is when the real shipping process should begin. Time is not on our side for tomorrow without a scan somewhere in the US at this point.

Long story short, I think labels were created and scanned well before an actual package was ready to adhere them to and ship, this enabled charging of credit cards, seems impossible, but companies don’t ship things and not actually ship things. When UPS has something to move, they will move it.

Mine says released by the government agency, after searching this apparently means it has cleared customs and is en-route to its destination. I am hoping my phone is in the US already and any backlogged tracking info will be updated tonight. Fingers crossed for tomorrow delivery.

Wow, another significant bump up on delivery. From Oct 12 to Oct 6. Go Baby Go!!
I hope everyone enjoys such good fortune!

Oops. I believe this is for the Apple silicone case I ordered separately from the iPhone. My iPhone 13 Pro Max has a definitive delivery date now instead of a range. My page at Apple says October 12th for the phone and October 5th-12th for my case. And my Apple Card has not yet been charged. My available credit line has been debited by the cost of the iPhone but not actually charged. Another week and a half for my iPhone. Balls. :( Apple says "Shipped" and UPS has me released.

Rather than answer several this again is what I experienced with my phone that made it to me on 9/30. Like many of you my phone sat after all the clearances and such The yellow mapped on screen dump. It then sat for me for 4 days until the pallets were finally loaded on a plane and left (the red). Til you see this departure (red) all the rest means is that your phones are in pallets at the airport waiting to get one of the currently limited planes out of china (likely due to the shortage of shipping containers and delays of said containers in ships so folks are getting planes competing with UPS for planes out of China. So hence the check back and differences on UPS which until it really ships out of the airport all the dates are estimates by computer based on what it would take at that moment if they ship. Apple stays conservative in date until that phone actually is in air on way to Louisville. (About 24 hours to complete the China to Louisville leg. Anyway here again is my portion of scans with those items for your reference:

Thanks for this. So I can stop checking then since it’s definitely not going to be here tomorrow.

Did your delivery date change several times? UPS is still saying it will be here tomorrow. But according to tracking it’s in China still

Yeah not likely unless UPS has a major computer and tracking issue which other than opening day glitches did not seem to be cases with shipping after opening day
