I would be surprised if UPS isn't updating. I think they are just sitting there.
Oh indeed, this might very well be the extra delay right now ☹️ Not the fault of people in China as they deserve their holiday, but Apple should also better plan around these events.
Yup…not holding out hope that this will be delivered in the next 2-3 days. My frustration from this is that I was part of the IUP/Apple Card screw up. Nothing but errors even when I changed my card forcing me to cancel and redo everything that was pre-approved. Meanwhile my wife has had hers since launch day.
Maybe that is why we have the 6-11 delivery bucket and why Apple has mine (and maybe others) with a delivery date of 11th. Just a thought
You maybe unto something as my 10/11 - 10/18 slipped Two days (10/13 - 10/20) .
What exactly is IUP? My issue came with the system not letting me in for several minutes. Just in case there was a WiFi issue at home, I was also using cellular for the app. Both my wife and son have had their phones since launch day too.
iPhone upgrade program. Was an issue with it and some people using apple credit cards. Transaction would fail and then it locked me out of my pre approved upgrade. Had to cancel the order and have everything redone (credit check, etc).

Ugh well thankfully you were a bit off. The holiday is technically only 5 days long, from the 1st to the 5th but STILL.
I haven’t seen movement since the 30th. Still clearance in progress. No point calling or screaming. Still sooner than my initial date but this is bananas. I highly doubt Monday is going to happen at this point. Wednesday, maybe. Which is the worst day for it to come since I have a plumber coming in to Repipe my entire bloody house that day. Hooray 😑

Ordered about 45 min after orders began, SF Bay Area destination. Originally Oct 6-11, moved up to Sep 29, back to Oct 1 then Oct 4. It missed the flight from Louisville to Oakland on Friday, caused a delivery exception, so they delivered it today

Same with mine, doubt that it will arrive on the 4th at this rate. Unless there was a flight out this morning from China, but my gut is telling me it will hopefully arrive by the end of the week....
Same here... Oct. 5 is Apple estimate, and Oct. 4 is UPS estimate. I expect movement tomorrow, or no way Oct. 4 will happen.
You have the 5th from Apple and I have the 11th yet we both have the 4th from UPS. I don't understand how we can all be looking at the 4th and yet Apple's estimates are all over the board. I hope you are right about movement tomorrow but at this point and am doubtful.
Yup…same boat for me. Apple the 5th, UPS the 4th. Don’t believe either, but the 5th is more realistic.
Another with the 4th from UPS, and Apple changed to the 11th
5 days of this “clearance in progress” nonsense. This is the worst iPhone launch (for me) by far. Again, I’ve been through all of them, including the very first one. Stood in lines for some, pre ordered others, never had on arrive past launch day… I think apple should have been a bit more realistic with the max this year, and possibly delayed it into October like last year, so everyone can have a good experience and not just some. Rant over. I am honestly happy for those that have received theirs, and all of those still riding it out, our day will eventually come… Side note, I know several people that have just picked them up same day at apple stores, if not for already being charged and hit with this obnoxious, weird delay, I would do the same, so those of you without a charge on your card yet, keep checking your stores daily, you’ll get one much faster for sure.
The Apple app still shows mine being delivered Oct 6-11, UPS shows it as Oct 4 which is tomorrow. But the status has not been updated since Sep 30, "Clearance in progress" - yet the shipment progress detail shows the last entry "Your package has been released by the government agency." on September 30, last Thursday! So unless the UPS status is just old and the package is on its way, no way does it arrive tomorrow. But with no status updates being reported, going on the third day now, it's possible UPS is just messed up in its reporting - we'll see!
Well in my experience since my first iPhone 3 I have had to rely on delivery no Apple stores nearby. I got one at Best Buy but otherwise delivery to home. Been on IUP since this started and I generally do 50/50 on opening day. It always took 5-15 minutes for getting into preorder and even with the pre approval process. This year the less than minute to re enter the card in I went from 9/24 to 10/6 to 10/11. The phone prepared to ship evening of opening day. Then shipped early on 9/25. But sat at airport for about 4 days then took 24 hours to arrive morning of 9/30. So you are lucky to only have problems this year my record is not as good as your long term experience.
Good point. I have always bought the phone outright, I know iup can be a struggle, but I understand it’s value and allure. I guess my point was, the way the entire max line slipped so quickly (All colors and storage options) is a pretty good indicator Apple knew exactly what was in store for vast majority of max buyers, not sure why they choose to go this route, but it set a lot of us up for a poor experience for sure. Hopefully we all get them by the end of this week at the latest.
I was in this time frame after preordering. I was charged this past Wednesday- Apple says I should expect the phone on Oct 11th and UPS is saying Oct 4. I guess I’ll see for sure if I’ll get the phone tomorrow or not since according to UPS it’s still in China so not sure how it can be delivered tomorrow but hey, you never know!
