Not sure yet. Love the X screen. Miss the polish of everything else with the Plus as some of the comments prior to mine allude to. I still may return, grab the 8 plus, and wait for an X plus. And this is someone who really appreciates OLED, and all the tech packed in the X.

Just wanted to add my small input as someone who has been on a plus since the 6, and has extreme anxiety about switching to the X - I was supposed to get mine today, but since I changed delivery to a UPS hub 2 minutes from my house, it is now delayed until Monday, so I did what any irrational apple user does and went to Best Buy and target to play with it. My immediate impression was "too small". But after playing with it for a few minutes I very quickly changed my mind. Much of what displays on screen (text, pictures, etc) is closer to the size of a plus and not a 4.7. Text on a 4.7 is too small for me. On the X, it is basically like a plus. There is much more text wrapping , very similar to the 4.7, due to the narrow display, but nothing that I could not live with. And the phone does not display apps like a plus in landscape. But I thought to myself, "How often do you use that", and the answer is not much at all. Occasionally in the messages app, but mostly in safari and videos. On the X, safari in landscape is very much like the plus from a size perspective (but no tabs), and you will be doing more scrolling as the content tends to be 2-3 lines less than a plus would display. Videos in different aspects all play great on the X, and the size of content displayed did not concern me. The phone feels amazing in the hand, much better than the plus, I must admit. I have rather large hands, and was able to fairly comfortably navigate the phone. And the notch............honestly is a non issue IMO. It is much smaller in person than I expected. I would not say it is ideal, but I really did not find it intrusive at all. Even in full screen playback, I kind of didn't see it, unless you focus your attention on it. I think it is one of those things, that if you are not actively using the device, appears worse than it is. And I am not trying to be an apologist at all. I actually found the home bar to be more distracting than the notch. I came away from the phone with a very positive perspective and am now really disappointed it did not come today ( I was really intending to return it anyway). The size of it just seems...perfect. I dont even know if I would want to consider an "X plus" (though I will not hold myself to that). My only concern (and one of the features I was looking forward to the most) is front facing portrait mode. You could tell that the camera blurred out the background beautifully, but seemed to have trouble with the edges of the subject. I had glasses on top of my head and the glasses and even some of the edges of myself appeared to be a casualty of some blur. Hopefully this may be something that can get improved in software.

If you are someone who absolutely can not live with out the landscape features of apps on the plus, or need to feel that large surface area of the plus in your hand, then the X is not for you. If you can accept a bit of change, the X is actually a very pleasant surprise. I think I will at least open my phone now when I get it (as opposed to a straight return, and am more in favor of the device than I was.

Edit: On gestures: I actually found them very intuitive, and had to wonder why IOS didnt always have it? Using the X is much more fluid. And I have read several reviews saying that reachability was difficult to work. This was not my experience at all, reachability , again, seems to work much more fluidly than before

I’ve had a plus since the 6 and really like the X.

I’m really enjoying the better iBook experience on the oled screen. Text is much clearer.

Pretty easy to switch for me. Only thing that I’m not a huge fan of is the control center swipe, but I’ve realized I don’t really need to use it much anyways.

I am also still on the fence. The iPhone X is awesome but the screen is not big enough for me and the keyboard is a little small. The screen looks gorgeous though! I may return for iPhone 8s or Note 8 (to try something different as I am bored with current form factor). IPhone X would be perfect in a plus size!

The struggle is real for me, coming from the 7+, the narrower display is more significant that I expected. Never thought I'd say this but I don't know if it'll be a keeper.

The size is perfect for my hand. Now I can operate my phone with one hand very comfortably.

So far so good . . . there is a slight learning curve. You just have to learn to do some things a little differently.

Anyone notice how your "home screen" doesn't rotate any more? I have portrait location lock off. Everything else rotates as expected but not on the home screen. Must be an iPhone X thing.

Coming from a 7+, I knew what I was getting with the X. It's a much more comfortable fit in my hand for sure, but it will take some getting used to the more narrow size. Not a bad transition, just one that needs a little time to adjust lol

Feels weird. Feels like it’s “small” to me. I got to get used to it. I guess I was anticipating something the size of the 8 plus, and have that be edge to edge.

Thats a Plus only feature just like the additional landscape features in apps like Mail.

Going from the 7plus I am really enjoying the smaller form factor. It feels very nice in hand. The glass makes it easier to grip(case coming on Monday), and it fits so nicely in my pocket. Keyboard was the only thing I was concerned about, being that I'm going to a thinner display I thought it would feel cramped, it doesn't at all. I actually think I prefer the FaceID to TouchID and I definitely don't mind the notch. I have accidentally tried to press where the home button used to be a couple times, and then realized it isn't there and I needed to swipe up to unlock lol. There is a bit of a learning curve but it's fun to be in a whole new ball park here with the X!

I'm wondering as well! Does the X handle landscape mode the same as the plus models do? I'm picking my X up in 40 minutes, so i will find out soon enough!

The landscape is fine except on the home screen. Mine won't rotate there.

I feel that IF they do release an X+, the buyer response will be very underwhelming. The current size of the X is the sweet spot for most of us.

Oh . . . my last phone was of the plus variety. I didn't realize that. o_O
I might miss that but I'll consider it a trade off

I had both regular and Plus. I liked that the screen feels similar in size to the Plus, but it feels like I'm holding the regular on.

I never did like the rotating home screen on the Plus models. Seemed kind of pointless to me especially since it made the wallpaper all zoomed in and pixellated.

The screen is a bit bigger than the Plus, but the form factor is much appreciated. It is so much easier to hold than the Plus and does not sacrifice the real estate

The X has less square area than the Plus. It's not bigger, it's a marketing trick using the 5.8 vs 5.5 comparison.

I like my new X - but I actually wish it were bigger. Seems a bit small to me (especially coming from an iPhone 6s Plus). Why didn't they make it bigger or come out with 2 versions.

I'm coming from the 6S Plus. To me, the actual screen looks about the same but it feels lighter (in weight) and fits my small hands a lot better.

The iPhone X is on the left and my iPhone 6s Plus is on the right. Same screens are displayed for comparison.

It's the same UI as the regular 8. You won't get any landscape home screen rotation like you do on the plus models. This is a taller 8, that's all.

It’s heavier and the screen is a little less wide, but outside of that it’s PERFECT.

let's keep this on topic, please

just got it in the USA and I have to admit it does feel smaller coming from a 7 plus. I am not saying I don't like the X I do, but it will feel smaller. I personally wish it was as wide as the 7 plus since I have big hands

Something that's mathematically smaller feels smaller? What are the odds??? jk... but seriously, how many plus users will be fooled by the 5.8" marketing. So scummy.
