Internship means I'd be working for free, so I wouldn't. I'd continue to take donations for all the work from the forums. Job with a salary from Apple...DEAL!

Maybe he does, and if it works on the A5, it probably does on the A4 too. So maybe he's conserving this for all devices on 5.1. 5.1 really should have been released by now, the last beta was released nearly a month ago. I think Apple is just playing a waiting game with JB devs, but Apple has media pressure and millions of users, JB devs don't have either.

I'm hopeful that one way or another, by CES/Jan 10th, we will see a jailbreak of some sort, for the A5 and 5.0.

I really can't believe the number of users that bought a locked 4S and are hoping for a software unlock. This isn't 2007/2008 folks. There wasn't an iPhone 4 software unlock after the initial baseband, and we were lucky to have that one.

Plus, MN has had nothing to show since that small hint weeks ago. I wouldn't remain THAT hopeful of it.
 
I've been attempting to update to 5.0.1 on my jobs wifi since I didnt bring my macbook. It's not completing. What's the issue

If you're having issues with updating and it's stuck in restore, DFU restore it to 5.0.1

You are clearly not looking at the BIG picture. That internship could lead to gaining more knowledge and potentially getting hired by Apple once its over. Do you know how impressive it would look on your resume to say that you've intern with Apple? You will definitely stand out from others when applying for a job.

Seems you have forgotten about ipad 2 owners. I have a jailbroken ipad 2 on 4.3.3. If I follow his advice and update to 5.0.1 and the jb never comes, I am screwed. I know GSM and wifi owners can downgrade back to 4.3.3, but it's not possible at the moment for us CDMA owners.

Needless to say, I still haven't updated the ipad. I will wait until Apple releases 5.1 (or 5.0.2), and then I'll be forced to make the decision to trust pod2g or stick with 4.3.3. Hopefully the jb will come and this worry will be for nothing.

Yeah, because donations must make comex insanely rich. Considering how talented comex is, an internship with Apple could easily lead to a full-time job. And even if it doesn't, he'll have something impressive to put on his resume.

I agree.
But $60-80K in cash for a kid his age for some coding on the side is pretty good and impressive also.
 
I'm willing to bet Comex is getting a nice Scholarship out of it as well as building a pretty bad ass resume. I can't say I blame him. i'm a little nervous about pod2g update. I really love the snapper 4s more then I thought I would but I'm already going though SBsettings withdraw. 🙁 I keep swiping and getting nothing.

im going to pick up a VIP4 4.2.8 tomorrow. hope this guy is legit. his shsh blobs are saved on 4.2.8! i would never have to update!

Ok so besides p0sixninja's tweet early this morning about the sandbox I think that this latest blog post by pod2g is the best news yet. Personally I am kinda surprised and felt as though these people were helping already but I guess not. I feel with all of them working on it,, it will definitely be completed. Not sure on how long it might take but now I feel confident it will be completed!!!

PS Its kinda strange but late last night I was just looking through twitter and for what ever reason I went to look through my followers. Something made me stop at @planetbeing to see if he had any activity recently. Its kinda strange this morning I wake up and see he is part of the jailbreak now. i love it

1. I highly doubt he's interning for free at Apple

2. Just having "Apple, Inc." on your job resume pretty much guarantees you a 85K entry-level salary at any tech company in the world. Even if all you do is basic IT work.

I agree. Even if he were though, as you pointed out, it's a red carpet to any job he could dream of. Plus, now he gets to do what he was doing before for fun, for a company and build a reputation.

From what I'm reading and seeing which isn't much. it appears to be a new security trick from Apple. I could be totally wrong. I've been going around looking for that answer myself. however it's looking like the cat is getting smarter and meaner. 🙁 Apple kills our jailbreaks I'm strongly considering going android!

It's a container of sorts that prevents malicious or poorly-behaving code from messing with other applications and memory address space. Chrome sandboxes flash to prevent the numerous flash exploits from harming your computer. Apple sandboxes applications for the same reason. One of the necessary pieces for the jailbreak to work is to bypass the sandbox, so that the JB code CAN modify memory and code elsewhere on the phone.
