I think it's a great concept. I've plotted my walk to work tomorrow so I can go past 4 Pokestops. Bits of urban art I've never noticed and sculptures on people's fences. It might grow old quick, but I'll get more out of it than Candycrush.

Poke-e-mon..... Gotta NOT catch them all...

Sounds good, but people would think u'r a nutter everyone hunting for stuff in the real word. If I'm gonna do that, i'd rather be done in the pricacy of your own home, until everyone else is on the same side as you,

Imagine going somewhere and seeing people scream at nothingness in the middle of the town, trying to catch mewtwo?

Well, I guess I was under the impression there would be fun. Just going around collecting **** is totally pointless and boring.

Yes better to sit on a computer and complain about having an unfulfilling lifestyle.

Shame this is infected by IAP. Same with the new Square Enix game. I refuse to play these games anymore. Hoping the mobile gaming industry changes course soon and returns to pay-once games (or ethical/cosmetic-only microtransactions). There would be good gameplay potential in many of these sorts of games if not for the IAP model dragging them down.

When gameplay decisions take a back seat to greed, gamers just end up getting fleeced for a crippled-by-design game.

So disappointed by most of the gaming industry these days. :(

When your single purchases make more money than IAP and your happiness is taken as currency for developers' mortgages I'm sure you'll get your way.

Except that you can actually play Pokemon Go without buying any of them. There's nothing sold in the shop that is essential or critical to the game. It just makes it easier to play. You get the full game experience without spending a penny. The same holds true for their other game, Ingress.

I'll just stick with Pokemon on my GameBoy 3DS. I play it once a week and it's a lot of fun. No in-app purchases, battery life issues and I can catch them all without having to leave my house.

I really think this game will only work in cities. I live in a town with 5,000 people and no cell phone service. I doubt anyone in my area is going to meet up with me to "battle"

Nintendo trying too hard to be edgy. Just release Pokemon for iOS. That's it.

No word when you can play on your Apple Watch? And more importantly, when people can get the Limited Edition Pokemon watch band available exclusively at the Apple Store? :)

Yes, they should port Pokémon FireRed or at least the original Pokémon Red, that's all people are asking for. Pokémon Shuffle is also quite fun on the iPhone.

That's primarily what it is. Battles are secondary. It's about exploring the REAL world. Want a forest Pokemon? You literally have the go visit a forest/park. Same with water. I'm interested to see what a Pokemon are going to be attached to famous landmarks or other historical monuments.

I wonder who's going to be the first person to go around the world and collect them all.
Anyone that has a jb and uses those iap hacks and spoofs locations unfortunatly.

Unfortunatly the freemium model has been the one really successful in mobile devices. The highest grossing ones use iap and are not high quality games, just addictive time wasters. Just get a console, there is very little dlc worth the price at release then they release a complete w dlc disc.

Unlike with Ingress, cheating doesn't affect Pokemon Go quite as much due to the more solo-based gameplay. People will always cheat and there's really nothing you can do about it without going through draconian measures.

It will affect it and probably more. Editing playlists, using stuff like flex probably, iap for free and spoofing of locations. Kids want to have them all to show off to other kids nowadays. It's not the journey anymore but the final result w kids in this era of gaming.

But you doing that has almost NO effect on other players, unlike Ingress where it has EVERY effect on other players. If a kid wants to do that, it won't ruin my game experience. If a kid wants to spoof in Ingress and take down a field we threw over North America, it undoes hundreds of hours of work with dozens of agents.

Crap game. I just want Super Mario Maker on iOS.

Why is it so hard, Nintendo? It would look great on an Apple TV with MFi controller.

Just waiting to see that first lawsuit when a careless child runs into traffic, or falls into a river trying to catch Pokemon.

Oh look, we finally get to join in on the complain parade!

"Not available in the US. Don't care."

I should take this and go visit one of my old neighborhoods and see what kind of Pokemon hang out with the drug dealers or MS-13.
