I think we are going to get the long, stretched candy-bar thing. Not my cup o tea, personally.

I wish they would just say what it is. I'm tired of Apple holding us hostage in this manner. There are many people who are ready to upgrade their phone right now, today. But instead, they are forced to wait around for another three months until the big "reveal".
 
These leaks just seem to easy this year. Im going with my gut. Apple will surprise us with something entirely different,

What do I want?:

I want that darn tear drop that was rumored from last year. Thats what I really want. When I saw the mock up, I fell in love.

If they present this long phone, Im still going to buy it though.

Poor analogy when the dimensions are at such extremes. Anyway, I'm sure Apple will make the device comfortable to hold or they wouldn't release it in the first place.

That is a matter of opinion. I find the iPhone 4/4S very uncomfortable to hold. Unfortunately.

Unless of course Apple is the one who orchestrated these leaks and it's all part of Tim Cook's "doubling down on secrecy" campaign ;)
 
Hmmm... I'm not convinced. When has apple ever released such a big product as this long before the launch? There are always rumors like these that make their way around, I'd have thought we'd all be used to it now. I think we're looking at a pretty drastic change in design here, hopefully a lot more powerful too. All in all, I'm looking forward to it.
 
Throw in the fact that by all accounts, the 'iPhone 5' was the device Steve Jobs spent almost all his last few months working on, you'd have to expect something more than an elongated iPhone 4 with better materials.
 
I will admit that I was one of the people who did not like the design of the iPhone 4 while it was only rumored. Now I love it... I under the argument claiming this design could be just like that, and most people will love it even though they hated it at first. BUT.... When the iPhone 4 showed up in pictures after it was left at the bar, it was hard to grasp its look and feel through the picture. Now though...

It is pretty easy to visualize my iPhone 4s with an extra 0.5 cm or so. And IMO, I feel like doing that and calling it a bigger screen feels like a cop out... For me, it will be a HUGE let down.
 
No because they are fake. Apple probably throwing us & other companys off with this. How would these sources have this anyway?

FAKE, no chance in hell those leaks are real.
 
I do believe it is real. We have seen and heard of the same rumored design from so many different sources now that I would be surprised if it wasn't just a taller screen.

But, I will say if it is just a taller screen, I personally, will not be buying it.

Is there really an Android phone that looks as sleek, high-quality, high-finish as the iphone 4 or what the iphone 5 looks like it could be? I still don't think so. Android's new OS seems finally on par with Apple's (if not better on some aspects), but the Iphone is unmatched on design and built quality, please.
 
Whatever. Just give me a bigger screen and LTE. That's all I ask for. Anything else will be a wow :O

But honestly, I do want Tim Cook to go up on stage and be like
"We had a few leaks over the past few months. So I suppose you were expecting this..." and introduce a completely new tear drop design.
 
I'm so excited about the new iPhone. Even these endless threads on the completely unconfirmed and unvarified leaks get me excited. See?

everyone says surprise us again....when was the last time they surprised us? I can't think of the last time we went into an apple keynote and got more then we expected. they've all been pretty much exactly what all the leaks said or less. I believe all the leaks are correct and we will get a longer 4" iphone thats thinner because it wont have the added width of the glass on front and back. They will make it look really good and they will sell a zillion. the people that complain will still eventually buy one. end of story.

Bookmarking this post. You remind me of another MacRumor who said the following when the iPhone 4 leaked "That is the ugliest thing ever. I will not buy the next iPhone if it looks like that. That's not even an Apple design at all" (It was infact the iPhone 4, and the member has the iPhone 4 and 4S https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/899393/ )

I do think this is the next iPhone. Its parts actually leaked via multiple sources. This isn't at all like last year's rumors (that I never believed); last year was pure speculation of a 'tear-dropped iPhone', no parts ever leaked.

LMAO! That thread sounds just like this one. And poor guy is so wrong but it is so funny. I had to grab a few quotes from him.

Call me naive, but it is my guesstimate that those leaks are not even close to the phone that's going to be unvail in the fall.

Hope I'm not wrong!!!!!
 
unfortunately I'm thinking they are probably real. Apple like their external antenna design which they raved so much about so it doesn't surprise me they'd keep it. Just elongating the screen makes it bigger but doesn't mess too much with exisiting apps nor make the phone too big. I watch each apple announcement with excitement yet in recent times they are mostly a disappointemtn for me. The elongated iphone fits with apples current philosophy, just like the mediocre iOS6 update (from what we know so far). I think we'll get LTE (useless in the UK) and NFC and a better camera and more speed but I don't see apple pushing the pace any more.

Personally I don't see these leaks being from apple to throw people off the scent. iOS6 disappointed people, now the elongated iphone is. People are already leaving to go to android or win mob (personally I am very close to picking up an S3) so if anything apple need to speed up release or show us something good rather than leaking 'fakes'. Slipping from a summer release to an october one means many people who didn't get a 4s are on a 4 or 3GS even and are desparate for a change. For the vast majority the badly designed home button probably barely works and something special might be needed not to jump ship!
