I think added is a more accurate term rather than switched. I got the MBP I'm using on April 22. I am very impressed with the Mac and I enjoy using it. Now I have boxes hosting Windows, Linux, and Leopard.

I switched on September 20th, 2007. The only time I touch a PC now is when I'm at work or when I'm fixing one for one of my relatives. :)

My family had a 286 rig running DOS 4 when i was in primary school. Thats were i saw my first mac. i was in year 4. I believe the rig was a colour classic running system 7.5. We used to play prince of persia every morning with out failure.

I grew up around macs because the school was full of them. Dad bought a PC that same year . We stuck with pcs until 1999 when i acquired my first mac which was the SE/30, 6 mnths later a Quadra 605 and LC II

I then went away from macs until 2005 when bought my Mac Mini, 1 year later i bought my current Black Macbook and start of 2008 i bought my refirb 12inch Powerbook G4

I have alway owned macs on and off through out the years but i didn't make the full switch until my alienware laptop was infected with vista.

Now I own a mac book pro and am happier for it.

In 1990 I had a DOS box dropped on my desk at work. I didn't have a home computer at the time, and I quickly determined that the folks using Macs back in our prepress department had a much better experience than I was getting from the beige hunk o' crap on my desk.
When it came time to buy a home computer in early '95, the only choice I had was deciding on a Performa or one of those newfangled PPC 601-based Macs. I ended up with an '040 Performa 575 [33MHz, 5MB RAM] which lasted us several years.

So, I've been a Mac user since 1995, and I would not consider myself a switcher as I've never owned a Windows box.

I didn't. Started with CP/M & DOS, moved to a Mac in '87. Windows (and OS/2, and NeXTSTEP/OPENSTEP) came later.

Couple of days - so I still don't really know what I'm doing! =)

But I got tired of my XP Dell Inspiron 6000 Ctrl-Alt-Del etc... driver issues... 'Windows Explorer needs to close...' etc...

So we'll see what my adventure in Macbook-land brings! =)

Am I gonna enjoy it??? =)

we a rickety old Tandy at home...then a Gateway, an HP, and some other random POS machine. however, our school system had only Macs, so i had used them off and on since elementary school.

i built a PC in 1999, and it served me well for a couple of years. however, when i started college in 2000, i decided it was time...i was a graphic design major and the school had a Mac lab. i saved up as much money as i could, and in 2001 i bought myself a Graphite iMac G3. since then, i've acquired a tray-loading Bondi iMac (just for giggles), a G4 iBook, and a MBP...and a Mac Pro is on the way. i won't ever go back to PC...ever.

the end. :D

Ooooo I had a Tandy too!! I also had a dot matrix printer with that bad boy. Good times.

A Mac Pro eh? What's the specs?

heh....we had the big bad dot matrix printer, too. and i loved to print out my little artworks! mom just *loved* that! :D

we're going with the base offering because our purchasing is limited to CDW. when i say it's on the way, i mean we're going to be filling out the capital expenditure form this week....which at least means the ball is rolling, i suppose.

was born into the mac world.

dad had a ][e. it was the thing i learnt on and i havent looked back since.

first used a PC about 3 years ago and HATED it. however im now studying to be a network admin .. but u kno, gotta make a living!

mac ftw!

I have never switched, mac born and bred. Started off with a mac SE, moved onto an LC 550, onto a Quadra 630 then onto the original imac, onto Powermac G3, to a Powermac G4 and am now on my macbook although am looking to move onto a MBP or update the macbook soon

OK, here's a question. What could Microsoft/the PC world do (in terms of new product or functionality) to make you all switch back?
