Out of interest, why are you asking for a strap and magnetic cover?
I'm trying to decide which to get, and I'm wondering why most people seem to be ordering both.

Out of interest, why are you asking for a strap and magnetic cover?
I'm trying to decide which to get, and I'm wondering why most people seem to be ordering both.
I think I'm debating for my WHITE ipad, Dark blue linen, Dark green or Espresso..I wanna see pix when people receive theirs though so I could actually see what each color looks like with the white ipad locked in..Still debating on the strip, magnet or both. But I'm sure I will get no cam hole since the cam is not great in the first place and plus, I like it to be hidden. haha
I have a dark purple iPad 1 Portenzo and my co-worker has the sky blue. The purple is pretty dark/subtle whereas the sky blue is pretty darn bright. Both are nice, but I'm glad I got the purple. I went with the dark blue this time just for a change.
on both of the ones i ordered i only got the strap.. i didnt see the need for the magnets since it comes with the one for sleep mode already.. i like the way the strap looks plus the strap covers the camera when not in use.. 
I don't think any have shipped yet. From what I've been reading here and on the Portenzo site I think Darin was going to give everyone a chance to adjust their orders one last time once the final design options are shared.
I can see that, but if you have the strap, then why pay extra for the magnets?
I thought the purpose of the magnets was to keep it closed without a strap.
I think many people like the idea of the magnets and just plan to use the strap to aid in standing the case horizontally. But I agree with you. Once I decided the strap was important to me, I had no desire to spend more for the magnets. But I get the appeal and why people are choosing both.

Is it possible to use the case as a stand WITHOUT the strap?
Just curious. I can see how the strap would help secure the case when used as a stand, but will the case just flop down if you try to use as a stand without the strap or what?

Also looking for opinions from anyone using this case in landscape mode in your lap. Comfortable? This is how I usually use my iPad
Team Portenzo, the site now says up to 2 weeks to receive the case for new orders, however my order went in last week, so I'm still a preorder, right?
After back and forth, I went ahead and threw in an order. Morocco, camera hole, elastic only, red interior. Fairly stock, I think.
But, honestly, just seeing this case was one of the reasons I got pulled into ordering an iPad 2. Glad I finally sorted out both the machine and the case. Whew.

That does seem like the hardest part lol just picking the right case is hard, so many options!
If there is back protection on the iPad such as Dodocase's Bookback, the iPad should still fit well in the portenzo case right?
It doesn't appear like it would change dimensions so much. It's just that I'll be taking my iPad in and out of my case anyway a lot between home and work, and inserting the VGA or HDMI connector etc etc.

I'm wondering the same thing. I just got an iCarbons carbon fiber back skin to use while I attempt to decide on which Portenzo case to order. I'd like to still be able to use the carbon fiber skin with the Portenzo - as I'll be using the Portenzo primarily for transport and/or travel and just have the iPad skinned when sitting around home.

Looking over your photos again and while it looks like there is clear access to the mic so I just want to make sure the mic isn't covered up? Also I think there are differences to mic placement for wifi only and 3g models. Does the case take both into consideration?

am i reading this correctly? Is the composition shipping within 3-5 days? if so I'm about seconds away from ordering, I'd just like to see some updated photos.
