At this point I feel he is working very hard and is grinding it out. For me, I hope Darin and his team take their time and deliver a killer product. I am excited but in no rush, well a little.

Portenzo iPad 2 Case: Now a Smart Cover

Docking issues?
Sorry if this is mentioned somewhere else in the thread, but is there anything special that can be done in regards to docking stands or do you pretty much have to take the iPad out of the case before you put it in a docking stand?
I am new to the iPad and dont have any accessories yet. I figured I'd want a stand for using it docked while doing work in my office, but the Portenzo looks like a great use for around the house and out and about.
Also would using an iCarbon skin in the back cause any issued with using the Portenzo?

What Darin mentioned earlier in the thread was skins should not be an issue but for best fit, no skin is ideal. So no exact details but the thinner the better it seems. Again, I would address Portenzo team directly for more details on this matter.
I'm with you on this one. I'm afraid to ask too many questions and pressure a rush scenario. I chose the Portenzo over the Dodo case because of it's superior craftsmanship. I want a case that's as lovingly crafted as the originals that get such reviews online!

buddy sent me this link.. to 10 ipad 2 cases.. funny they show dodocase but no mention of portenzo.. someone is missing out on one of the best cases made

I think Dodo has the stronger market presence, but knowing a handful that own or have had Dodos all had issues. No one I know with a Portenzo has any issues and praises them crazy. This will be my first, as I did not own an original iPad. I would love to help Darin make some killer vids to rival the slick ones Dodo put out, which are nice. It has to be tough with two rival products which are so similar. I'm sticking with the Portenzo team and will offer a full review once it's in hand.
whiskey.. im with you.. i didnt own the original ipad.. but i research before i throw my money down on something.. i read every review for just about every case out there.. then i watched every review on youtube.. everyone with the dodo had problems.. granted they state they have as of now fixed those problems.. its hard to get the bad taste out of your mouth when you hear so many with problems.. everyone who went from dodocase to portenzo was highly satisfied.. thus the reason my wife and i went with the portenzo for our ipad2s.. cant wait til it comes in.. my ipad2 is naked until it arrives

I have a smart cover on mine, gave my wife that cheap amazon sleeve for hers, she has a smart cover too, I currently have mine in an old incase laptop sleeve. She loves the look of the new white Portenzo but wants to see mine first hand. I went with yellow interior, I asked Darin if could do an orange interior but he said he just can't find the right color that they are all happy with. Yellow is bold, but I figured screw it, hadn't seen anyone with that one. I plan on a full review once that bad boy is in my hands, but as of right now, I too have not received any notice of shipping or a "final changes" email.

I'm waiting on my Ipad 2 - expected delivery April 6. Did order a smartcover with it. But seeing this case, if I choose to order will be returning smartcover to offset cost of this case.
So, what's the shipping cost look like?
Also, if I choose to order both the magnet and strip - how much more or is it just the cost of the upgrade to the magnets?

I had decided not to upgraded to an iPad 2 for now but I have to admit a chocolate brown Alana might be reason enough

Nope! I never had one on my original iPad with the Dodo case and it seemed fine.
The iPhone needs one since it is pulled in/out of my pocket so much, but the iPad is not subjected to nearly the same type of abuse.

Count me as one of those Dodo owners who had problems and moved on to Portenzo. Build quality isn't even comparable and Portenzo offers much more customization options. My old Portenzo has moved on with my old iPad and barely showed any wear after 6 months of use--new iPad owner loves it. I can't bring myself to cover my iPad 2--love using it naked--or I would certainly be getting another Portenzo.
Ditto. Dodo case would NOT hold the ipad. The corners peeled and all they would do was send out new ones, which promptly peeled too.
Portenzo is much better made; holds the ipad and when my first one broke, sent me a replacement with only me sending them a photo. totally class outfit and superior product by far!
Shipping Confirmation
Has anyone here gotten any sort of shipping confirmation or finalization email? I know there was mention last week of a shortage on Morocco material (which might be why most of us haven't heard anything yet), but at this point I'd switch to Levant if it means faster delivery. I feel like I'm working on borrowed time with my iPad being naked for so long
