Cancelled mine too. 3 weeks probably means 5. Plus they still have 7-14 days on their site which is misleading.

Going with the Octavo for now.

Yup I agree..Very misleading. I'm still on the fence about ordering since it does STILL say 7-14 days on site. I mean I know it's handcrafted and they are backed up, but how long does it take to update their own website real quick for the shipping estimates?! I mean how bout all the people not affiliated with this site and who are not educated in the whole transition from beginning to now? Very upsetting...

Furthermore I have sent several emails looking for updates since people who pre-ordered a month ago still have not had shipment notice. I get the whole thing about hand crafted but at the end of the day, this is a $60 ipad case. Not a Mona Lisa. I want quality but part of that includes having your act together to get orders out. What if mine has an issue? I have to wait 5 more weeks to get service? I think they were overwhelmed with the response and maybe if enough people cancel they can resume more timely customer service and processing.

For now, going with Octavo as I have heard good things from people who have it and have been using it. (i.e. not a prototype). Plus they are shipping in 4-5 days.

I got an email from Darin, 3 weeks?? I canceled my order. That is too long to wait. Especially since I have already waited a full week. I am just buying a yoobao. I liked the one I had for my original ipad and I don't have to wait forever to get it.

That's ridiculous---- three weeks?!??

I'd cancel if I could figure out how....... Help is there a link or something?????

When you sign into your account it should say "my orders" and an option to change quantities/cancel order

The messed up part is upon pressing the cancel order it says processing.....WTF? It's been processing since a week and a half ago when I preordered....I guess I'll try canceling by email..... Anyone else have luck canceling their orders?

EDIT:I contacted them by email hoping they can help cancel my order since their site won't ket me

I did same. The ability to not cancel online (for an order clearly not in process) is even more concerning. I trust however that Darin will process these cancel requests.

Yea, mine says the same thing. This sucks, I want my order canceled and refunded.

Luckily, as long as you didn't pay with paypal, you should still have your funds.

I'm seriously considering just buying a octavo pad&quill, or adding another smart cover, blue or orange, I have the poly green with my white iPad, and getting a ghost armor.

Thanks to this inexplicable delay, I'm growing keener on the almost naked iPad 2 feels, just with a smart cover, and possibly the Ghost Armor.

I paid with paypal, so am I screwed?

You're not screwed, but you may have to wait a bit longer, to get your money back, depending on how quickly they respond and issue your refund, vs debit/credit, they only can take the funds upon shipping whereas paypal is an instant transfer

I'm glad you guys are all canceling. It clears the decks for the rest of us.:D

I was on a red eye from SFO thur nite. A guy had a portenzo. I recognized it right away. He loved his for his iPad 1. It looked liked the wing tip. Im excited fo what they have coming up.

.

Amen...amazing the lack of patience here....but weve seen it before on many apple products that wernt avail immiediately and the tantrums/conspiracy/ripoff talk ensued.....

You can keep the 3 week wait on top of this past week, when shipping was SUPPOSSED to have started, I will buy once some posts pictures of having actually received the items, and they don't lie about their estimates.

Quality is quality, but like the one guy said, it's not a Mona Lisa, they clearly can't handle the volume of orders, but whatever.

I just upgraded my order for the Composition iPad 2. I'm looking forward to it. I'm not in a hurry so I can wait. I'll post pics once I receive it. :D

There are other alternatives that are now hitting the shelves and are quite competitive. I, for one, have picked up the incase book jacket because I needed protection on my iPad now and not one month from now. I was willing to shell out the extra cash for the portenzo even without a review, but the month long wait is just a little much. Sorry guys, incase beat you to my money.

I think it's time for Darin to come on here and give a meaningful update. One post here will probably save him from receiving 50 emails. His last post a few days ago did not give us any real information about progress.

I suspect that he is overwhelmed with orders and does not want to tell us how bad it is for fear of more order cancellations. I think he will loose fewer orders if he tells us what's happening versus not giving any accurate information.

What is wrong with the Frappedesign case? Could you post pics? I was debating on ordering it for work, but not if it's a let down. Thanks.

Not just one, but there are a lot of issues with the Frappedesign case, if you appreciate finer things in life, and respect the decency of Ipad 2.
The faux leather for the folio is way way too cheap. I did not expect it to be a high end or medium quality leather, but expected while i am paying 69 + 10 = 70 dollars for the folio i the quality on the faux leather should be atleast decent.

I have seen better faux leather furnitures at crappy stores. than on this folio.

The folio is humongous, the thickness is like 4 ipads togather. I ordered the black one. The black is not even black.. its dark brown.. looks real cheap. The explaination from frappedesign customer support was that, its not black, but espresso black.

The card holder does not accept more than 2-3 cards at a time.
The id/card holder's window frame is so small, you're card is hardly visible. I had to cut my card to put it in that section.

Ipad slips down when on the inbuilt stand... i could go on and on and on. Its shipped from Thailand, the pics on the website look decent.. good lights and photography, but the reality is that its just one cheap looking folio case from east asia.
I plan to return it.. but i guess i will have to pay another 35 dollars for the return shipment. :(

Anyone think the hold up may be due to the lack of a mic opening? Maybe he is retooling all previous orders to accommodating this. Anyway I have a bse on the back and a sgp on the front along with my smart cover, so I'm in for the long haul and can wait however long it takes to get my 23 1/2.

ok ok.. lets give Darin the benefit of the doubt here.. who emailed and got a response saying 3 more weeks? i mean did you just order or preorder a few weeks ago.. maybe it was a response thinking you wanted to order today.. i hope its not 3 more weeks for our order..

I held off ordering once presales were done and actual orders were being taken, knowing it would be quite a wait to get a case ordered "now".

However, I would like to see updates if possible from the Portenzo crew. (Including the answer to the 23.5 question.)

The lack of updates, while fully within any company's right, especially as they're working furiously to finalize designs and get products out the door, is still disconcerting - especially when you consider how active Darin has been in the past.

For me, for now, I've decided to go with an iCarbons black carbon fiber skin on the back along with a smart cover for the front. That'll tide me over until the supply for these cases meets demand, and then I'll be able to make a more informed decision.

I think the issue here is just that demand is far too high in relation to supply at this point. Once that normalizes, I'm sure more information will be forthcoming.

I paid with paypal on 3/11/11 - sent over 6 emails and not even ONE response from Darin. That is just unacceptable. I wish I did not use paypal because I would have cancelled by now.

Darin - any updates you can give your customers who placed an order over 2 weeks ago?

I think I speak for most in that we are not looking for an explanation just an accurate window of when we will be getting the case?

Reading the last two pages of this thread is like watching the villagers storm the castle with pitchforks and torches. It's going to take a while for a small company to fill these orders. If this isn't acceptable, try another option.

People who say they've e-mailed Darin multiple times and complain because they've received no answer, are clogging up the system. Yes, it would be nice if your e-mail was answered; but imagine you go to your office one morning and see 200 new e-mails. I'd probably take sick leave for the day. I was very impressed with the way Darin answered so many questions earlier in this thread. Every answered question, however, seemed to illicit another two or three new ones. If he's read to the end of this thread, poor Darin is probably hiding under his bed.

I've tried the Apple smart cover and find it just OK. I wanted a portfolio-type cover. I've got a cheap cover option which I'm using until I get my Portenzo (I ordered it March 24th, so who knows when it might show up). Everyone is impatient, but this is obviously a small company that, up to now, has been known for it's quality products and good customer service. I'm willing to trust them, and give them some understanding.

Got some info from Darin via email. I asked about ship times and here is the response:

Twenty Three And A Half, the Old School, and the standard case in Levant will ship faster (1-2 weeks). The Morocco is taking the longest time to ship.

Thanks!

Darin and Liz

Which is why this is so disconcerting....

Maybe you are but some others are not, so just realize that. I get over 150 emails a day at my job (are about 75% of them pointless CC's and one word responses?) YES - but I still have to reply because its my JOB - I cant say OMG and get away with it.

Its unacceptable for me to take someones money and then not respond to any of their customers emails.

What about the customers who did not stumble across this thread and havent heard anything from Darin in 3 weeks?

I know Darin will respond eventually and we will all have the cases soon enough but good customer service goes a long way and I do not feel any of us are getting quality customer service.
