StevieJobz: It's been three weeks since you cancelled your order, any word on the refund?

No email back from Portenzo. In fairness I called the credit card company and they said that the charge is still just pending and not an official charge. So even the credit card people cannot do anything until Portenzo actually puts the charge through.

I do not doubt that they will cancel the order but just want a simple email saying "we will process your cancellation, thanks."

Maybe Portenzo needs to hire some people from these boards to give them a hand. ;)

Come to think of it, I haven't seen any representatives from P&Q, Treegloo or Dodo on here. Though, given some of the comments, we may have some working undercover. Of course, given the lack of any kind of review on Treegloo products, I'm guessing that nobody bought them the first time around. That's probably why they have the time to answer emails in 3 minutes.

FYI: P&Q and Treegloo have been pretty active on Facebook and email.

But I think there is truth to the level of swamped Portenzo may be if these order numbers are sequential. There are 3-4 thousand based on a rough estimate. Even one or two thousand for a two-man shop would be a huge cluster***k to get hand made products out the door on time.

wow....several pages worth of bitching and now we learn you have not really been charged...this is the essence of everyone's posts that say people here are getting whacked out when there is no reason to. As Mystery said above, they are only really about 7 days overdue so far. Only in apple fandom land does this much chatter occur over minor problems....

And again to reiterate, yes, Portenzo needs to send out a blanket statement saying they are in an oversold position. Going dark is not what Harvard Business school would categorize as a "good business practice".

Just my .02

Isn't this a rumor site? Why should case makers feel obligated to come on the MacRumors Forums? ... Come to think of it, I haven't seen any representatives from P&Q, Treegloo or Dodo on here.

I think company reps getting involved in forum threads opens a can of worms for them. However, Porentzo could have shipping updates and info on their website and Facebook page. Treegloo (last post 5 hours ago), P&Q (13 hours ago), and Dodocase (3 hours ago) all update their Facebook pages regularly and answer customer questions. The last Portenzo post on it's Facebook page was March 26th.

Well, I put my Portenzo order in on March 24th, and my Treegloo order in on March 28th. I have a feeling Treegloo will arrive first, but I'd really like to compare the quality of the two cases....someday.

march 15th poretenzo
march 29th treegloo
march 30th P&Q

so we shall see.. check my youtube cause i will review each one then compare them whenever i get them.. the race is on

no dodocase? :D

i really dont like the dodocase on the ipad 2.. i have been following their facebook page and a lot of people are disappointed with the design leaving a gap between the ipad and the top cover.. they "say" it is designed that way and will wear in.. i might get one later on but for now.. these will do..

Wow, 3 high end case?! You must be rich

nope just save wisely.. when all is said and done.. the extra ones will go on ebay or sold to friends..

Where does the stylus holder goes on the portenzo?

Inside On the left side of the wood frame. They say it adds some width. You'd have to go to the site to read up. It is not avail on the composition. I don't know why. But $10 is pretty steep. I was gonna get it but they supposedly have new styles coming out.

Then I thought about the price for replacing a stylus so I may get it.. Guess it depends on the new styles.

I couldn't imagine using a stylus to type. Love using it to take handwritten notes.

well,

I took the plunge for the Treegloo, mainly because of the color options. I have heard good things so far from their Ipad 1 covers and they have great customer service unlike Portenzo.

I will provide an extensive review when it comes. ;)

here is a pic from their website..

You guys can reach Darin here if a real emergency:

http://discretiondesigns.com/ourteam.php

Portenzo is not his full-time gig. So he can only produce so many at once. Everyone relax. By Summer you should most likely have your gorgeous cases.

People with real jobs need to earn before they can make cases for others.

Not so fast. Google them and you'll find stories of the inside paper easily ripping and them charging customers shipping both ways to fix it. It's not as black and white as you're trying to make it.

How to cancel?

How did you guys cancel your portenzo orders? Mine says processing (been like that since I put it in) so I couldn't cancel, so I submitted the email form instead saying I want it canceled. Is that the right way to do this? Or is there another cancelation procedure I should go through?

Thanks,

Isn't this a rumor site? Why should case makers feel obligated to come on the MacRumors Forums? While I appreciate the time that Darin spent in here, I in no way expect business owners to come in and answer questions. In hindsight, his posts are probably responsible for all of the crying and moaning from the instant gratification crowd. The Portenzo shipping delay, based on their self-imposed 3/21 date, is now at 7 business days. On the Old School II, it is 4. Not a big deal.

Well, I guess it depends what level of customer service you want to offer. Even if Portenzo never posts on this board, at minimum they should respond to customers email within 48 hours (or give a phone number where we can reach them). In my job, if I didn't respond to all my customer requests in 24 hours, and did this repeatedly with multiple customers, I would probably be out of a job quickly.

Yes, it's important to get your product out as fast as humanly possible.
Yes, it's important to build a high quality product.
Yes, it's important to put your blood, sweat, and tears into your business.

However, more important than all of the above is the relationship you build with your customers.

And yes this is a rumor site but this is a serious discussion thread about an existing, physical product, and not some rumor. If my livelihood depended on it and I owned that company, I would be posting here regularly.
