Also, Octavo has rounded corners as well. I have used the first gen and they are very smooth, sanded, etc Made of same material as portenzo.

Just wanted to clear that up since you were making comments regarding texture from a thumbnail image

No basis for this comment. Someone produces something on time and so that implies rushing vs. manufacturing ability? Now I am convinced of the shilling going on here.

Did you see the same pictures I did? P&q iPad 2 cases don't look anywhere as good as their iPad 1.

Ok, I'm in. I'm keeping my order for the Portenzo but just ordered the following Treegloo. If it turns out to be a dud I'm tufting it to a friend or selling it on eBay. Here's what I ordered:

Device: Apple iPad 2 , Frame Finish: Ebony with Accent , Accent: Black Suede , Cover Color: Epic Black , Liner Color: Dark Matter , Liner Type: Cloth with Camera Port

- FRAME: Ebony with Red Suede Accent- COVER: Epic Black- LINER:Cloth with Camera Port Flash Red

I'll give them until the end of the week to post some sort of an update on shipping. After that, I'm probably switching to Treegloo.

the treegloo case looks like a viable option...if only they have an option for a stylus holder...

Been following this thread for days..finally decided to make an account and chime in.

The Treeglo case is cheaper in price for the simpler configurations. The one I configured would only be $40. Just don't know if the quality is better. They don't seem as intricate as the Portenzo ones from the picture.

I used the ipad primarily in school so I used the iA Writer app for most of my notes. But for those where some scribbling or drawing is needed, I used the stylus with the noteshelf app.

ok acceptable point :)

so are there specific type of stylus that will fit into the portenzo? i dont think they sell stylus or do they?

I emailed treegloo at 12:39am Pacific, they wrote back at 12:42am. I wrote Darin on March 16th, no response yet.

Portenzo is probably swamped but they need to start paying more attention to their paying customers. If this thread existed to talk about my small business, I would be on here every night giving at least a 2 minute update on status, and yes even if I worked 20 hour days ( which I do often ), I would take 5 minutes before bed and make a post.

I'm going to also cancel and give treegloo a try. I wanted to wait for Portenzo but this is getting ridiculous.

Darin I'm still pulling you, hope those of you who are sticking it out dont have to wait much longer...

Stylus option adds width to the frame, which IMO is a no for me. I also use a stylus occasionally and would probably just clip it to the frame or the strap.

lol, now I kinda wish I got the Treegloo! But I will wait for the reviews here and enjoy my Octavo for at least a few days.

I'd be interested to hear comments regarding thickness and weight vs. other cases given the wood used. But I really like the ebony option.

Portenzo has given rise to many other case makers via this thread!

You guys have really sucked me in with this Treegloo. Before I order one of these too, anyone have a sense of how snug the iPad fits. I didn't see any corner material (rubber, etc) that would hold it.

I like the all black and grey options. Might have to order one and see which one is best (vs. Octavo).

EDIT: Never mind, saw one image with these rubber things that frankly looked like they were sticking out above the wood. I'll wait on the reviews before ordering. Someone wrote that the lining peels back in this thread: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1112266/

Also, for all the positive remarks about Portenzo, there were a few negative comments about craftsmanship slipping in the other Portenzo thread:

What did you order with Treegloo. Can you do a review thread with pix when you get it I love the maps for the liner and the frame options. I want leather but man they look cool.

Here's my Treegloo order:

Device: Apple iPad 2
Frame Finish: Ebony with Accent
Accent: Red Suede
Cover Color: Killer Red (+)
Liner Color: Knight Gray
Liner Type: Cloth

I'll post pics and a review once I get it. This is my first Ipad, hence my first Ipad case (I do have the Apple Smart Cover, but that's something else entirely), so I won't have anything to compare it to.

Omg when I was playing with options I did the same as you but the Chicago map. I wish the maps came on the cloth!

That ebony will look sharp with a black iPad! Which is what I have.

I posted about the issues I had with my composition. I wouldn't order another unless they addressed the issues I had. But over all il Loved my Portenzo. Plus when I sent them an email about the old journal style I wanted he seemed to say that they had something like that coming out. I'm willing to wait. I bought square trade so I'm fine with a smart cover and a sleeve till I get what I want.

Hey,one of you guys that ordered a tregloo start a Treegloo thread so we can see what you ordered when and when you got shipping notifications....plus track reviews. They are my backup.

I got an email within minutes of emailing Treegloo, seriously. In fact they told me it would ship next week - and offered me a different option in the wood. They are going to be offering a dark wood option -

I ordered:
Frame Finish: Ebony with Accent
Accent: Brown Suede
Cover Color: Avast Arr-nge (+)
Liner Color: Indy Adventure
Liner Type: Cloth with Camera Port

I figure the dark wood would suit the brown case better than the black so I asked them to switch to dark wood.

Isn't this a rumor site? Why should case makers feel obligated to come on the MacRumors Forums? While I appreciate the time that Darin spent in here, I in no way expect business owners to come in and answer questions. In hindsight, his posts are probably responsible for all of the crying and moaning from the instant gratification crowd. Come to think of it, I haven't seen any representatives from P&Q, Treegloo or Dodo on here. Though, given some of the comments, we may have some working undercover. Of course, given the lack of any kind of review on Treegloo products, I'm guessing that nobody bought them the first time around. That's probably why they have the time to answer emails in 3 minutes. The Portenzo shipping delay, based on their self-imposed 3/21 date, is now at 7 business days. On the Old School II, it is 4. Not a big deal.

StevieJobz: It's been three weeks since you cancelled your order, any word on the refund?
