I can't think of a title...

I love the Portenzo. The iPad Is very secure while in the case. It's not super easy to remove the iPad from the case.

We had a batch go out without the new installation/removal instructions. Please see the image below.

The openings that have been cut for the volume and lock are great, I thought it would be harder to use since the buttons are almost behind the iPad, it actually works well.

Thanks, we tried to design it to accommodate any size digit. We tried to leave a full side/edge with our previously sized cutout (for the iPad 1), but only about 20% of the testers could actually fit their fingers in there (girls with fingernails, and even then it was not comfortable). With this solution, the controls are accessible by almost anyone. It's much more time consuming to do (a lot more hand sanding), but we feel it's worth it.

The opening for the sleep button is not centered, which is weird, maybe its because its so close to the edge.

Exactly, if the opening was centered on the button, it would encroach on the corner and weaken it. The opening is large enough to get a finger in there, and off center enough to maximize the strength of the corner. We could center the opening, but its not worth fattening up the whole frame, just to make up for that weakness. Also, it takes minimal pressure to activate the power button. But, then again, with the auto sleep/wake feature (standard on every case), who needs the power button?

The iPad goes farther into the case on the left side because of the pad for the camera opening, I didn't get a camera opening but they decided to leave the little pad there anyways. I regret not getting the camera opening.

Yes, I have noticed that. It's slight, but noticeable to the very observant. The foam padding will 'settle' a bit with use (compression from the iPad) and this will even out more. We *might* switch to a different material, if it still seals the camera well, but I'm happy with it since it settles in with use. Also, the cases WITH camera hole have a hole in that pad, so it's less material, and less noticeable.

Also, just FYI: The camera hole is in all frames. If you decide at some point you want to operate on your case and DIY a camera hole, you only have to do the cover. Just peel up the protective foam padding (or cut a hole in the center of it).

I do like the case, its much better than the dodo in my opinion. I also ordered a Treegloo case to see the difference.

We certainly welcome any side by side comparisons.

Thanks again, and I'm sorry if I'm not addressing any other questions/concerns on this thread (I haven't been able to read it in days). We're in high production mode 20/7 (yes, that's a 20) and focusing on getting caught up on all those cases you have been patiently waiting for.

Were checking emails for order numbers as the approach production, so even if we haven't responded to an email request, we should still catch it before your case goes out. You may get a shipping notification before getting a response to a change/upgrade. That just means we have seen the request/upgrade and have taken care of it. If something gets messed up, fear not, we will take care of it and make it right.

You guys are AWESOME, and again, we apologize for all late shipments. Daily shipments are increasing and we hope to be caught up on all late orders very soon. They are all going out with an Express upgrade, as noted before.

Also, we're working on more photos of the color combination, but shipping takes priority.

Darin and Team Portenzo

More color photo combos would be great! Also, any news on Morocco materials? Are they back in the works or are you still awaiting materials Darin?

Team Portenzo! I'm sure everyone will be happy you posted. There was tons of concerns about customer service and lack of communication. In the future avoid going dark on your customers at all cost. A quick one liner on FB or a tweet...or a message on your site goes a long way to put restless customers at ease.

When you get a chance you must read this thread. It is a total riot!

Looks like someone has hacked Portenzo's MacRumors account to provide us all with an update! :p

lol.. thats funny.. i know how it feels to be behind the gun and trying to catch up.. it was good to see Darin post.. hopefully they are doing what they said about checking emails.. my email included my order number so we shall see..

You act like they insulted your mother. It ain't that freaking serious for gawd sake. They had the experience they had, you had the experience you had. I mean geez. That person didnt like the response they received. It is their prerogative to have the reaction and or feelings they did. Now I think you can see how high maintenance we iPad owners can be. Things look different when someone makes a negative comment about a vendor you like. Ahe? Rofl :p. I can't wait till someone calls the dodo case,Treegloo, or P&q folks crooks. This place is gonna get lively. :):):p

No not at all. I believe in being fair. And no they are not my Mother. And yes it is serious. Both parties are in business. We cannot walk in to their shop and talk to them so we rely on Facebook email and sites like this for information. At least that person did get a response. Better than no response at all. I am not high maintenance. I deal with computers networks systems all day long for a very large company as a manager. Been in this business for a long time. Had every gadget imaginable so I do know what I am talking about. It is not a matter of liking one vendor over another. In this instance both Portenzo and Pad and Quill seem to make a fine product and each have a very good business going. Each have taken different approaches in dealing with customers. Now I see a response from Portenzo which is very good. That is all it takes to communicate to customers that hi I am out there working hard and we are working to get your product to you. And none of these guys are crooks. They are probably hard working guys trying to make a living and sell a good product.

I updated my order to include a stylus holder so that probably moved me to the back of the bus. Will surely post side by side comparison of Treegloo, Portenzo and Octavo as soon as all are in hand. Hopefully before Memorial Day :)

When I got my iPad it reminded me of the day I brought home my Apple Newton home. God was that thin frustrating. Back in those days we didn't have no sissified accessories. Boy have things have changed cuz back in the day when you dropped your toy you were SOL. Now We want the accessories he day we get the device, the case, the screen protector, the bag, the attachments, car mount, all on launch day.

We can play who is the oldest gadget geezer later. But, just so you know we probably have the same job or pretty close to it. And, the odds are high that many of us share the same tech knowlge and experience. And though we don't act it most of the time...we are all probably around the same age.

Because of this statement, I have updated my order to include the camera hole. It better not make my order ship later than normal. Since they should have this statement on the website.

Never did have a Newton. First toy was a apple 2e and Tandy color computer. So that should give you an idea of my age. Got those in college. Used both for school in the Physics neutron lab and to play. But you know we modded the he'll out of both those machines. Especially the Tandy COCO. I changed out keyboards, memory, video adapter. Every week it seemed I would order something. So in the case of the iPad it is not all that different. My iPad is used for work not unlike when I was in college. Also for play. I have ordered all 4 competitors Dodo style cases. Why? I really don't know other than it is fun and I guess part if a hobby. These small companies somewhat remind me of the small companies in would order hardware kits so many years ago. I want all of them to do well. So hopefully we all will end up with a great product we can enjoy with our iPads.

No just means I am OLD. Still feel like a kid though. Just made the jump to an iPhone and ordered my first MacBook pro. Should arrive by Tuesday. Come from Android and Windows. Wanted to experience that good old Apple feeling again. By the way I just completed restoration of a Tandy coco. Much fun modded it with flash memory Ethernet and USB connections. Have every program imaginable on my flash memory. Let's say it cost a lot more than the first coco I had. I guess it is like restoring old cars.

It fits the iPad 2 with The smart cover on. I love quirky stuff, that is why the composition appealed to me. I guess now it comes in black. It is sexy sick too.

For a minute I thought that was a vanilla folder/envelope.

Oooooh I want one of those.....

I also like the novelty cases but I don't need it so I will hold off for now.....

It was a great case, but it is cumbersome to use. I would say the iPad "whipout" factor is low.

That is why the book cases are so appealing whip it out and open it and boom you are ready to go. Plus while you are using your device it is still protected.

So though I love the manilla case, the book cases make it easier to make the iPad a part of your life.
