Their official Facebook states they hope to clear the backlog within 2-4 weeks.

Also, they've been working 20 hours a day, 7 days a week.

A small shipment of morocco goes out Monday, with big shipments going out the rest of this week......

Yeap, I've been following the updates of shipment dates aswell. I'm sure it will be fine :D

yah.. realistically all orders should be put on back burner until all preorders are done.. people ordering now should be told in advance that their order could take 2-4weeks.. something.. i still haven't received any notice of changing my order to levant from morocco or changing one of them to 23.5.. so i have no idea when i will get both of mine.. :( i did email with my order number back on the 27th.. no reply yet.. no notice of shipping yet.. orderd on 15th

Write then again, as much of an inconvenience it is to us, I think they deleted their emails older than a week, I wrote them twice a week ago no response.

I wrote them with the same requests about my changes yesterday and Liz the new book bind lady wrote me back to acknowledge note had been made of my xhanges.

Sorry if this has been answered before. Couldnt find it.

How much does the case weight? and can the flap flip totally flat? like when you put it on desk.

Hi,

I am a newbie to this forum. I ordered a Portenza based on this exact thread back when I first got my iPad 3 weeks ago.

I participated on the FB thread, asking about a status on my order, and frustrated by the lack of response. Once I didn't get a response (after a request on FB and several emails containing my order #), I cancelled my order and ordered a Treegloo. I was captivated by the dark chocolate finish and the Chicago map, since Chicago is one of my favorite places on planet Earth.

Then, as soon as I got my order squared away with Treegloo, I got a shipping notification from Portenzo. I never expected that, since he said here and on FB they search emails by order number before shipping. Obviously they do not, or they would have found my THREE emails requesting status updates, and ultimately cancelling my order.

I should have my Portenzo case on the 5th. I debated canceling my Treegloo order but after working closely with them (by contrast, they responded to emails in about a half hour or less!!!!), I feel like my loyalty should stay with them. I am debating refusing my order or accepting it and giving it as a gift. I have to admit I am curious about what they look like in comparison to each other.

I am HUGE into customer service, and disappointed by Portenzo's, even though really in the end it didn't take THAT long. I feel like their webpage was misleading as it said "starting to ship 3/21" vs. what it says now, which is 1-2 weeks. It might have been newbie stupidity, but in light of that, you'd think emails would be acknowledged in some capacity.

Anyway - that's my story. I am not sure how I feel about having TWO custom cases winging their way to me, but I guess I'll have to see. I wish the Portenzo team hadn't wasted time/resources constructing mine if I might refuse it in the end. We could have saved ourselves a great deal of trouble if they'd just let me know that, indeed, my order was in production and close to shipping. I would have rested on my laurels and been fine until it came. The vagueness of the responses and the seemingly long delays made me kinda squirrelly, and put me in the position of shopping the competition.

K

@momsince96

This is almost exactly my dilemma. I don't really want two cases and I'm worried their only email to me will be that it's shipping even though I asked to cancel my order through a few emails. Hopefully they will check my order number first. What type did you order if I may ask.

I emailed them a couple times after ordering, and also last couple days, and have never gotten a response. I expect a response from any company I buy from online. Am disappointed. I am hoping my 23.5 is going to ship soon!

Alright, I've decided. Going with an Octavo. I don't like the simple camera hole in the back but I do like everything else about it (the price, the option for a pocket, bonded leather instead of faux leather, and the bookmark). Portenzo's $20 more for bonded leather (23 1/2) and customer service is non-existent. Probably wouldn't receive my order from them for a month anyway. Treegloo just doesn't look right to me (the sides of the ipad are exposed!)

who told you the sides of an iPad 2 on a Treegloo are exposed? only the top and bottom are :D

Ordered on March 11th - changed to levant a week ago. No response from 3 emails over a 7 day period. Still shows 'processing' - I see a ton of ppl getting theirs who ordered after me it seems.

The phrase "what have you done for me lately" applies here. No matter how popular his ipad1 case was - this launch has been total bomb so far.

I have no problem waiting but don't string us along and respond to only certain emails and ignore others .

I did the same. Shipping is free and they were nice enough to give me a 10% off coupon just for asking. That's a savings of $16 over Portenzo, and at least they respond to emails.

received my shipping notice with tracking 2 days after order with Pad & Quill. Awesome customer service. It amazes me that people are still sticking with Portenzo with their lousy customer service.

Unless you really really want to compare the two and have someone else you could give it to, your best bet would be to email Portenzo (yes again, I understand your frustration) and tell them that since you had tried cancelling your order that you would be refusing shipment on the case. When it arrives, don't open it, refuse shipment and if somehow it is left without you having to sign, then just take it to Fedex/UPS/whatever and tell them that you wanted to refuse shipment.

I know ... I actually do have someone who would probably appreciate the Portenzo and we can save it for her birthday. The shame of it was that I am usually the "ring leader" for trying out new and innovative products among our group of friends and I had several folks wanting to see what this case was like before ordering one for themselves. Most are in the customer service industry and really have a problem with poor service and/or lack of follow-through, since they themselves pride themselves on their stellar customer service to clients. In fact, my husband was urging me to cancel my order long before I lost patience, because he was getting upset that I wasn't getting a single reply to my email. Still haven't, as a matter of fact - my only email communication since I got the order confirm was the shipping notice. I had originally wanted to make some changes to my case, and when I never got a reply, went out on a internet hunt to see if I was the exception, or the rule. From this thread and the FB posts, it appears lack of email communication is the rule :(

ok.. emailed again about changing order to levant if it will push my shipping earlier. also put note on FB.. i see some people got told theirs were shipping today.. so we'll see.. i think 90% of the orders are on here lol

Shipped!

FYI:

Ordered the Old School II on 3/27.
Received a shipping notification just now.

Woo hoo!

How are people who ordered on 3/27 getting shipments before folks who pre-ordered?

Something is strange.

Does anything surprise you at this point when it comes to Portenzo's ability to fulfill orders. Really looking forward to when they mess up an order and you cannot get in touch with anyone. Their FB page is a total clusterf*ck right now.

Also very interesting to see more and more people capitulate and cancel and take their business elsewhere.

+1

Furthermore Team Portenzo is official the "special" kid in the classroom, I had written about canceling my order 2weeks ago, I quickly regretted it and wrote back the next day, as I regretted my decision and I had upgraded to the 23.5 and made some changes.

Now a couple days ago I wrote them again about changes to my order and within 3 hours they responded all was well and that my Order had been updated and changes been noted.

Today I get an email my Order is cancelled, a couple hours after that, I get another email it's all taken care of*headscratch* nowhere did they acknowledge my request about changing the color/cloth material on the inside from beige to green.........

I hate to agree with the bandwagon, but this is some failing grade customer service.

Only bright side is my order must be up for production if they finally searched the emails associated with it.........

Ha. Hope you get the right one!

Because besides the amount of orders made, they run out of Materials to make the cases (Morocco specially). The Old School Notebook II doesn't used those materials. The thing about this is that the wooden frame is not whats taking time, I thought that would be what would be taking the most time.

I ordered on the 17, but I'm still holding on Morocco, so yeah, hopefully I'll get get a divine sign this week Lol

It has to do with those who ordered Morocco. I ordered a Morocco on 3/16 and have finally gotten a response back from Portenzo. My estimated shipping dates are between April 18th to April 27th. That is for order number 5181. My guess is that you could be waiting till May if your order is in the 7k-8k range and you ordered Morocco.

Now I just wish I had went with the old school or the composition maybe things would have shipped better and there'd of been better communication.

In TeamPortenZos case, more options is not always better......makes things messier when order upgrades are ignored until production time....
