Hi,
I am a newbie to this forum. I ordered a Portenza based on this exact thread back when I first got my iPad 3 weeks ago.
I participated on the FB thread, asking about a status on my order, and frustrated by the lack of response. Once I didn't get a response (after a request on FB and several emails containing my order #), I cancelled my order and ordered a Treegloo. I was captivated by the dark chocolate finish and the Chicago map, since Chicago is one of my favorite places on planet Earth.
Then, as soon as I got my order squared away with Treegloo, I got a shipping notification from Portenzo.

I never expected that, since he said here and on FB they search emails by order number before shipping. Obviously they do not, or they would have found my THREE emails requesting status updates, and ultimately cancelling my order.
I should have my Portenzo case on the 5th. I debated canceling my Treegloo order but after working closely with them (by contrast, they responded to emails in about a half hour or less!!!!), I feel like my loyalty should stay with them. I am debating refusing my order or accepting it and giving it as a gift. I have to admit I am curious about what they look like in comparison to each other.
I am HUGE into customer service, and disappointed by Portenzo's, even though really in the end it didn't take THAT long. I feel like their webpage was misleading as it said "starting to ship 3/21" vs. what it says now, which is 1-2 weeks. It might have been newbie stupidity, but in light of that, you'd think emails would be acknowledged in some capacity.
Anyway - that's my story. I am not sure how I feel about having TWO custom cases winging their way to me, but I guess I'll have to see. I wish the Portenzo team hadn't wasted time/resources constructing mine if I might refuse it in the end. We could have saved ourselves a great deal of trouble if they'd just let me know that, indeed, my order was in production and close to shipping. I would have rested on my laurels and been fine until it came. The vagueness of the responses and the seemingly long delays made me kinda squirrelly, and put me in the position of shopping the competition.
