I just got email with tracking number.
I had Levant so I think it shipped earlier than morroco(even though I had it engraved).
It will be here on Wedsday. I will post some pictures soon as I get them.

What do you think is a good interior colour for a Star Trek motif?

I guess I'm either star fleet or united federation of planets. I wish there was a dark red, maroon. I guess either blue would be good for united federation of planets. But star fleet is what gets me...I don't know what to choose for that motif.

All black, everything black, perhaps some dark blue, for the interior?

Or white linen......? ;p

Ahhh in think you are on it with the dark blue. Does vodka stain?

If they had white linen...we won't go there.

I also have a pretty awesome "communicator" pin I gotta work into the case as well. It is gonna go on the outside but I don't want it to interfere with the typing angle.

I do believe Star Trek TNG is the grandmaster flash of tablet computing. #justsayin.

Darin finally responded to my email query on the 23 & 1/2 but wasnt the answer i was look forward to....

i asked if it is possible to change the interior linen to sky blue. apparently not and i have to stick to the default wheat linen :( so much for customer service. from the way they are handling orders, i can understand that they are too busy to be able to handle such requests.

So of the few people who received them - could anyone answer my questions:

Can it be folded fully flat on its back, without forcing it?

If not, is it comfortable to hold when folded back normally? The spine makes it way thicker in the left side.

Im thinking about not going for the extra camerahole in the back. Seems to me, that I can just take the iPad2 out of the case if I (ever) need the camera. And I don't want to ruin the look of the "book".

Also, you would have to use the camera while having the cover fully opened, so not the cover the camerahole. That seems to be kind of akward, holding it like a fullsize newspaper.

Darin gave you the same answer he gave other people on the thread. Read.

It can not be folded back without forcing it. I don't think it's uncomfortable to hold while folded. I thought it would be, but it doesn't bother me at all.

I would go for the camera opening if i were you, taking it out of the case is not super easy. I didn't get the opening because I don't see myself using the camera very much. They cut the hole for the frame if you get a camera hole or not. They don't cut the hole on the back part of the case.

At this point Portenzo customer service is a meme. They will be blamed for the price of oil by the end of the week.

It is obvious that the 23.5 is a special edition and that the it does not come with an interior colour choice. But people will ask and hate the response...before they were hating that there were no responses. I guess that is progress.

Keep in mind that at least with the 23.5 that th camera hole is put into ALL the cases, they just cover it. I opted to add camera hole after reading that they add it anyway.

Also, the case better be able to fold back on itself, one of the main reasons I ordered one!

After all the to and fro I'm just going to cancel this order and stick with my P&Q. I tried to get my Portenzo changed and instead they canceled the original and now I have an order # of 8xxx which probably means another month.

Also, spoke to some folks on FB who have been less glowing with their reviews than folks on here which means most of these cases are basically the same, save for very minor nuances (and personal preference) which don't bother me as much us superior customer service. Especially for a $60 case. But I will try and give Portenzo a whirl the next time around.

Darin also assured me the charge on my cc would be reversed. In any case (bad pun), it has been great chatting on this thread but onto actually enjoying my iPad now!

Good luck with your orders!

Thank you for your answer.

I don't see myself using the camera at all. (never uses the camera in my MB Air, and have a nice DSLR-camera)

I will not be using facetime, and don't have a skype account, so the only way I could see myself use the camera is as a gimmick for an app or something.
I figure I can always just cut the hole with a super sharp scalpel if I find that I need it down the road.

Would you say that you miss not having the hole on the back of the case? Would it not ruin the smooth moleskin look of the case?

Also, did you go for the magnets? I think I'll go just for the strap.

I went for the strap no magnet. I guess you're right about not having the hole. It does look a lot better, nice and smooth.

you know it would be cool if you could get either blue or yellow.. i mean my preference would be blue.. ;) when you get it and you do this please post pics.. big fan here..

It seems that when people e-mail, they're products get shipped. I changed my order from the Notebook to the Composition on 3/16. Still haven't heard anything since then so I sent an e-mail today ... fingers crossed.

It seems that Portenzo probably should've waited until all four of their iPad2 cases were ready before taking pre-orders instead of releasing new ones every 5 days - which lead to a lot of order changes. I give them credit for customer service to allow my pre-order switch to happen and to be honest while I'm jealous that my wife's dodo case came yesterday - I will happily wait for the Portenzo b/c I believe it is a better quality.

I can't wait till you get your Portenzo I'd love to hear about what you think of both cases. Please post. You and your wife both have ipad 2s right?

Yeah, wife and I both have the iPad2's ... did the online pre-order before we had to evacuate our hotel while on vacation in Hawaii due to tsunami warning.

The reviews about the dodo case not holding the Ipad in as well was really what pushed me toward Portenzo - also the Composition is perfect for nerdy adults like me.

Will post review of both after a bit of usage.

i agree with your point.. i believe they should of kept with the original designs or waited to take preordered until they knew what designs they were going to have available.. then once all of those preorders were finished.. then come out with a newer version.. or add to existing versions.. i believe their popularity has grown very quickly.. which basically means people see their work and craftsmanship to be top notch.. however it has also got them in a bind with so many order so quickly that it hindered their ability to respond to customer service questions.. thus hurting them.. hopefully after all the dust clears everyone is happy with their purchases and they can restructure their plans by the ipad 3 release..

sent in an email to cancel my order. went with treegloo instead.

for order cancellations, did you guys email or was there a specific area to go to?

In case some are not aware of this:

If you want to cancel your orders (or do anything else related to your orders), why don't you log in to the Portenzo "Your Account" page:

http://shop.portenzo.com/login.asp

Once logged in, you can, among other things:

review orders, track packages, change shipping/billing addresses, change quantities, cancel orders, return items (etc, etc)...

If you want to make changes to an existing order, I think the best way is to use the Portenzo customer support page:

http://shop.portenzo.com/help_answer.asp?ID=17#239

Placed my order on March 24th. Used this form to request a change on March 27th, received an acknowledgement about my change request on April 4th.

probably cause it was already shipped.

No. I emailed my cancellation on 3/30. Case was shipped 4/2 - actually ended up being 4/4, will arrive 4/6. Yesterday Darin emailed and told me my case would ship 4/8. It's just a mess right now. On one hand I feel very bad for them but on the other ... I think they are overwhelming themselves.
