Portenzo iPad 2 Case: Now a Smart Cover

It didn't make a difference as some way early march basic style orders STILL HAVEN'T SHIPPED vs late march(24-31) old school orders were built/processed/shipped at relative light speed.

God forbid I remember the 23.5 which preorders(me included) were promised shipping by this coming Monday. This is it, if my 23.5 does not ship by Monday, ordered on 3-18, they permanently lose me and my 97.87 USD.

Did you switch to the 23 1/2 after it was announced on 3/21 or on 3/21?
 
Not to make anyone mad, but I just got my shipping notice for my levant on dark blue. I have been watching these forums since I ordered wondering when mine might ship and was complacent with it taking several more weeks. I even got upgraded to 2 day shipping for free so I hope to have it saturday. I ordered on march 28th by the way.

I thought fedex does not deliver on Saturday unless you pay some astronomical express fees?

As requested. I got the Levant, which was scheduled to ship 1-2 weeks from order, so it was in the right window.

That's great news bxm.

I've got to say their order fulfillment process is a little bewildering. I placed my order for Levant, black interior, with stylus and camera hole on 3/19. I've seen others with similar Levant orders placed after mine already delivered on these forums and elsewhere. I contacted them to see if I could pick-up my order since I'm in their hometown. I was told that my order would ship on "or shortly after 4/8 - it's "rolling" shipping."

While I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now, the "shortly after 4/8" is clearly after their published shipping dates. I really want to like their products and really want to support local businesses, but their professionalism leaves a little to be desired.

Maybe the are making a bunch of one color then the next and not necessarily making them in order.
 
The case is awesome! The first thing I noticed about it was how light it is. The build quality is perfect. I ordered on the March 28 and received it today. That's only a 10 day turnaround! 😱 Thank you Portenzo!

Oh I was just wondering why you hadn't received your shipping notification yet. Meant no offense was just trying to compare to when I ordered my 23 1/2 (3/23). Hope you get yours soon 🙂

Portenzo needs to explain to me why people who ordered the same case as me have their case when they placed their order 17 days after me....

MagnaGrip reviews?

Thanks for all the pics everyone. Gives the rest of us some hope!

Has anyone ordered a case with the MagnaGrip option? I am curious how it feels and whether or not I should order it with or without a strap? Also curious of the horizontal viewing position without a strap? Is it stable enough?

Are there any thoughts to the camera hole? Wasn't surenif I should get one or not as I thought it could easily get dirty and not be that functional anyway or look weird on the case.

Mine has the MagnaGrip option. It securely holds the case closed when held upside down. As someone else said in the thread, it feels similar to opening a Macbook Pro.

As far as landscape viewing, it works on a slick surface as long as you don't touch it.

If you are thinking of using it horizontal then get the strap, it all depends on the surface you place it in, the smoother the more unstable is going to be without a strap. It's also about style and usage of the user. I got the strap because it looks like the moleskins notebooks, I love the look, but that's me 🙂

I haven't made an official opinion yet but I'll say this much: the camera hole is much bigger than I expected. Mine's not PERFECTLY aligned but maybe it's how I put my iPad in...

Haven't used the camera enough for it to be a worthwhile decision but the hole is there anyway, so might as well... Right?

Thanks for the reply. I am thinking I'd use it horizontal quite often, but like the simplicity of the MagnaGrip, so I might just go with the MagnaGrip and pick up some type of book stand, or that specialty stand like the Arkon Portable Fold-Up Stand and Beffo Spiderpodium. Might do the job well and is portable.

I was never a moleskin owner, but do appreciate the strap. If I get lucky and can get a SeventySix, I think I like the look of it without the strap anyways.

Oh that SeventySix it's a beautiful case! I wouldn't even put a camera hole on that one. I hope you do get it, this is my first Portenzo case so if the quality and craftsmanship holds to it's reputation, I might get something more exotic later on 😛
