OMG you can Google!!!

Luckly, I won't need to do any deals with you...and I don't calculate the ELV or FMV of my deals in excel.

Get it together....:p

Actually, I will be at the convention. I am sure that many of the attendees would be interested in how you perform financial analysis with your iPad. Perhaps, you can arrange a demonstration as part of the program.

We will be expecting you.

lol. did u email them?

I have. It's been about a week since, no response.

It is a shame and I did expect a delay since something similar happened a few months ago on a lesser scale, though comparing this experience to when I ordered a Composition1 from Portenzo when it was first announced back in Oct. is like night and day.

At this point, it is what it is and as long as I actually receive a case, I'll wait. I've been using a TwelveSouth BookBook and even ordered a Canvas by SwitchEasy for the time being. In the meantime, as much as I prefer their product, Portenzo has some PR issues to iron out before another company with the resources, capitalizes on their mistakes.

I feel that I have been fortunate with my experience with portenzo, sure I was a little bumbed with the wait but the product is of good quality. I emailed them to let them know my case wasn't sitting flush and they responded within a day to let me know that they would replace it.
Let me say the wait is worth it! really you can tell a lot of care and attention to detail went into this case. I'm sure it's a small operation and they are flooded with orders. Just hang in there or cancel your choice is yours. no need to flame or argue with people on the forum...really.
I can gaurantee you will be happy trust.
This is coming from someone who needs to have his ordered replaced.

I'm just saying
Peace

Hmmm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Authorization_hold

Most authorizations fall off in 1-5 days for debit and up to 30 for cc. I think there might be a totally different reason that he charged the cards...

Let's say he has 10k orders and has $10 in materials in the cases. That would mean that he would have to pony up $100k to place orders for all the material. now if this is a "living room" operation, I suspect he doesnt have $100k sitting around. In the tight economic times, I suspect no bank would lend it to him either without a lot of business planning that hasn't been done yet.

So, I think it's quite possible that this has inadvertently turned into a matrix scheme. If enough people cancel, it will ALL fall apart.

this is not implying that Portenzo will not fulfill orders, just that it could very shaky financially. So all the more reason NOT to cancel and wait it out...

Well put Mikesus. But let's not forget that Portenzo was in business for at least a year before the iPad 2 came out. I would think that they have some business cred with a local bank. But maybe they do not and this is why the Morocco shipment was late?

I ordered a Morocco Notebook on 3/24 with a red interior, camera hole and Magna-Grip Cover. My credit card was charged on 4/20, but no shipping date yet. On 4/15 Darin responded to my email inquiry as follows:

Our Morocco supply shipment was AWOL for about 2 weeks. We got it yesterday and are now making cases. Your case will ship next week at the earliest, 4/25 at the latest.

Thanks!

Darin and Liz

On another note, perhaps the St. Louis airport disaster might further delay shipments for the next few days/week(s)?

well if order numbers mean anything, they only had about 3k orders in a year. In less than a month they got another 7k?

Remember that for the paypal orders, they get all the cash up front. So if they have 500% markup as you suggest, which is probably fairly accurate and if just 1 in 6 orders is through paypal, which I reckon if conservative, then they have more than enough cash-flow.

I just think that they don't have a clue how to run a business and right now, they don't need to compete, hence the crap service. It won't last.

Okay, I haven't wanted to post anything because it seems that anyone with a favorable experience with Portenzo gets labeled as a "shill", but I think it only fair to tell my experience.

I ordered a standard iPad 2 case in mid-March. Order in the 5100's, I don't remember the exact number. I had ordered Morocco, but sent an email to change to Levant. All of my emails pre-ordering were answered quickly. When I emailed to change, I got no confirmation for a week or so.

I posted on Facebook, and got a response that mine should ship soon. And it did. I was very pleased when it arrived, however, it did have a small chip on the frame. I emailed them and got a quick response, and after some dialog they offered to replace, though the imperfection was small. They said it should arrive in a few weeks, I said to take time as I knew they were backed up.

I received my replacement case the other day, out of the blue. It is perfect in every way. The quality is amazing, and I could not be happier with the product or the service I experienced.

I realize some of you have had different experiences, but I am just relaying how mine went. The company may be guilty of optimistic shipping info, and may have gotten more orders than they expected, but in no way do I think they are guilty of fraud or anything of the like.

Just my opinion.

So you actually got 2 cases... Wow, they could even get to my one case and mine is only a bit higher order number... At this point I am just going to try to request a refund as I went for the BookBook. Good luck to all, maybe you will get lucky and it will fit the iPad 3, because that appears to be about the time frame that you will receive it...

Good luck with requesting a refund. Like most of you guys, I "pre-ordered" back on March 17th and have gone through the whole switch to Levant ordeal and numerous false ship dates. I finally got fed up and asked to cancel for a refund. I then get an email stating order is cancelled and refunded. I paid with PayPal so I check and see nothing... I then get another email stating that they don't see my order but see my "other" order for a Comp 2... wtf? I never ordered a Comp 2.

I respond with a copy of my original order info and get a response saying it's still "in production" and asked if I would still like to keep it. I ask how long it would take and please give me a REALISTIC date and Liz says there are "thousands" of orders in front of me and that it would "probably" take another 2 weeks. I responded saying just cancel my order and then everything goes quiet and I never get another response again....

So I filed a dispute through PayPal and send them initial contact and they don't even respond to that...It's been almost a week now so my only option is to escalate to a claim with PayPal to take action... This has left a really bad taste in my mouth and I would never recommend Portenzo to anyone regardless of how great their cases are. They need to take a course in Business 101 first...

This might be schadenfreude but nothing makes me happier than to see all the masses and shills finally capitulate and cancel. About 40 or 50 pages ago in this thread I commented on the poor service. Yet, the homers were out in droves, rushing to Team Portenzo's defense. These same people are now one by one falling like dominoes. Nothing better when smugness gets wiped off one's face.

I was defending? Hmmmm. Show me where... I have stated numerous times that they messed up. There is definitely something up with charging the credit cards all of the sudden, and completely ignoring emails.

Couple that with not refunding money that they already took as above and that sure sounds like money problems...

Haven't seen any pics of the stylus holder on the finished product on here, so here you go! Everything fits beautifully.

My L shaped Bose headphones fit on the 3.5mm jack, but if the iPad is pressed into the case all the way, it has to come out just a little to get the pin in there. But even with the iPad flush with the top of the case, it fits fine. The camera connector and USB cables all fit nicely into the connector at the bottom. They almost fit easier than without since the angle of the ipad can make that difficult. With the case, it guides it straight in.

I got a mail from Darin saying he will do a full refund on my original order... I sure hope that the do not have money problems and I'm getting my money.

I ordered the Notebook the 13th of March last week he could not garantee that my order would ship by this Friday.

Good luck on getting you cases or money back... I'll try Dodo.

I also have an order pending but I think the best way for them to address this situation is to temporarily stop accepting orders and try to fulfill the earlier ones first. Once they're able to catch up then that's the time to accept new orders.
