Wow! The frame looks fantastic!

I'd been lurking but not posting lately because some of the posts in this thread have been beyond crazy.

Haven't seen any pics of the stylus holder on the finished product on here, so here you go! Everything fits beautifully.

My L shaped Bose headphones fit on the 3.5mm jack, but if the iPad is pressed into the case all the way, it has to come out just a little to get the pin in there. But even with the iPad flush with the top of the case, it fits fine. The camera connector and USB cables all fit nicely into the connector at the bottom. They almost fit easier than without since the angle of the ipad can make that difficult. With the case, it guides it straight in.

NICE...I thought the frame was white at first as well (actually prefer the white to the unfinished wood look).

Hmmm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Authorization_hold

Most authorizations fall off in 1-5 days for debit and up to 30 for cc. I think there might be a totally different reason that he charged the cards...

Let's say he has 10k orders and has $10 in materials in the cases. That would mean that he would have to pony up $100k to place orders for all the material. now if this is a "living room" operation, I suspect he doesnt have $100k sitting around. In the tight economic times, I suspect no bank would lend it to him either without a lot of business planning that hasn't been done yet.

So, I think it's quite possible that this has inadvertently turned into a matrix scheme. If enough people cancel, it will ALL fall apart.

this is not implying that Portenzo will not fulfill orders, just that it could very shaky financially. So all the more reason NOT to cancel and wait it out...

I"m sure that they intend on fullfilling orders. I worked for a small internet company a while back and like stated in your link they had to charge the cards sometimes before actual shipping of product. If they did not, it would just create another slew of correspondence because they would have to contact the purchaser again before fullfillment o the original order. Reason being that they would have to get the security code again to authorize payment since that information is not saved in most systems for the security of the customer.

Just an opnion...

I have been reading thru this thread to decide whether to order from Portenzo. I have looked at the comparisons found elsewhere on this forum and from what I see the Portenzo case is a much higher quality in the long run. I am just curious if when people think about the quality differences between the cases if they take into account the time involved in making a "Better" product than your competition. I agree tha th communication is somewhat lacking in some areas but I also am not sure that that is big a deal for me since quality is more important to me.
I also love motorcycles and continue to purchase from a company that has a reputation for poor customer service " Corbin " just because their quality and abillty to design the seat the way I want it wins hands down compared to the competition. That being said I will probably just buy some cheap cover to protect my I-Pad for now and wait a bit for the rush to die down before I order mine.
Again that is just my 2 cents worth on some of what I have read.

@Sand Man I would put your order in now and accept a long wait. Maybe even forget about it so it's a nice surprise when you get a shipping notification. Thats what I would do since your already accepted that you would use a cheap case for time being. Unless you want something custom, which from my previous queries is a few weeks away from being offered. Nevertheless I would get in que now if you know what you want.

Refund received, Darin stated that cancellations are processed right away so was unsure how it was missed, but will look into it. He also mentioned that orders are not being processed out of order, but yet folks that preordered and switched to levant are still waiting, while a 9000 order above is shipping, so I take the previous statement with a grain of salt. Good luck to all those that are waiting, hopefully you will receive it before the announcement for the next iPad.

I will probably do as you suggest. I am sending him an e-mail to see what options I have as far as custom are concerned. Another hobby of mine is collecting images or posters that have Dragons o them and I would like to see if I can have a custom cover made that would incorporate a Dragon image if I supplied the art work. Based on what I have seen in all thecases and what Potenzo offers as a base as well as limited runs they would be the most likley canidate to accomplish something custom like that.
I want a little more than the standard color changes and so forth and am willing to pay for custom as long as the price is managable.

Are people contacting them through the website? Or is there an email address? My order disappeared.....

Might sound silly, but how long ago did you place the order? You might have to click the drop down box in your Orders section and change it to orders placed within the last 3 months.

I thought the same thing happened to me, till I checked the date...

At this point, I don't think any reasonable person could believe this statement. There are plenty of people that have posted here and on facebook that have received their recent orders before older ones. Steviejobs ordered the exact same case that I did a couple of days after I did and he received his case some time ago. I've gotten nothing but promised ship dates that have not been met. I haven't changed my order at all, so that isn't contributing to any delays.

As I've stated previously, I don't mind waiting for a quality product. I would like it if they were honest with me after taking my money. If you promise something, do your best to meet that promise. If you can't, let me know. When you fill orders, barring any supply shortages, fill the orders that were placed early first. I don't think these are unreasonable things to expect. I've waited over a month and figure I might as well stick it out. I can't say it's been a positive purchasing experience. It certainly will inform my decision to purchase from Portenzo in the future.

Good luck to everyone waiting!

For those of you considering jumping ship, which case will you go with? I ordered on 3/14 and am STILL waiting like a lot of you. He promised they'd all be shipped by tomorrow so I'm waiting until then, but if they aren't I will need to look elsewhere.

SO, what are you going with? DODOcase? Treegloo? Octavo?

bookbook, in stock at Amazon (and 12 south).

I will work through it's shortcomings but at least I will have it for my ipad2 (not ipad3)

I haven't decided if I'm jumping ship or not, but I have also ordered a DODOcase. Based upon what I've seen here and elsewhere, I think Dodo have the next best quality (with Portenzo being first). I've not had any of these cases before, so can't relay personal experience, but based on pictures, reviews, etc, I think it's Portenzo then Dodo (but again, just my opinion).

I am giving Portenzo at least until Tues or Wed. At that time, I'll either cancel or just decide to wait it out and end up with two cases (one of which I'll either give away or use as a spare). I'm still cheering for Portenzo and I believe their intentions are good. I think they just haven't put the appropriate production and communications processes in place to deal with the increasing demand for their product (so, I think these are growing pains). But of course, that doesn't alleviate anyone's frustrations!

I have the Portenzo Pad and Quill and the Dodocase. They are all nice. You are correct the Portenzo is the best one. The Dodocase is very nice but it does not have the auto on and off or a camera hole. Also to me it seems the lightest. They all hold the iPad very securely in the case. The Pad and Quill is built like a tank and is the heaviest. You would not go wrong with any of them.

I didn't order from Potenzo but would have if they replied to questions/emails.

I ended up giving up and going with a DODO Limited Edition.

Little bummed about lack of Smart Cover but at least it WILL be covered...no telling when a Portenzo ordered recently would ship.

Yes, I realize this. But they seem to be doing what I wish Portenzo would do--under promising and over delivering. Besides that, I'm just ready for resolution to the Portenzo "saga". It's not so much that I need a case NOW; it's that I first ordered a case on 3/9 and have been following this thread, Facebook, and twitter since for any bit of information that would give insight into their shipping plans. I'm exhausted, lol, and just want a reasonable timeframe from a company capable of delivering without confusion. So a large part of going another way is just so I can check this off my "to do" list and move on to other things.

Again, still hoping Portenzo will pull it together! Come on TP!!!

Thanks for the info! I don't need a camera hole and, while I like the Smart cover functionality, I mostly think it's a gimmick, so not necessary for my needs. The DODO seems to use less wood (the top and bottom are mostly exposed, right?) and also bamboo (which is a lighter wood, I think).

You are correct it uses much less wood. The Portenzo and Pad anQuill completely wraps around the iPad execpt in those places where access is needed. Dodo also uses bamboo. They are all well made.

Sorry, misunderstood your question. Sky blue Levant. But, that is after a couple changes and a cancellation. While Portenzo has missed every deadline relating to my orders, I also partially hold myself to blame for the changes and of course, the one cancellation. That's one reason why I'm still giving them the benefit of the doubt-I haven't been faultless
