I'm loving the new Engadget piece.
"LOOK THERE! BLURRY PHONE! WE THINK IT'S THE NEW ONE JUST TO PROVE OUR POINT."
Not blurry at all.

It's entirely blurry. Not sure what you're looking at.
I'm still calling knock-off.
Yes it's blurry, but we know that the iPad in the same picture is real and the pictures from Twitpic and Engadget fit the admittedly blurry iPhones in the picture. It's clear enough to discern that both pictured iPhones have an aluminium side.
How likely do you think it is that someone in january made a fake picture of an iPad with some iPhones with an aluminium side next to it, and guess the form factor of the iPad correctly? How likely is it that this fake picture corresponds to a rumor from an entirely different source?
On their own these pictures do not amount to much evidence, but the combination certainly does.

I'm looking at the original images provided by Engadget, I assume that you are therefore looking at the one with the iPad and iPhone?
The known-to-be-legit images of the iPad, show an aluminum-sided iPhone.
It's obviously the same device.

Nothing is known to be legit. All we have is a bunch of Internet loud mouths talking out of their ass.
We know the iPad image was legit.
It was released before the iPad came out and turned out to be 100% accurate.
Amusingly, no one spotted the iPhone image in the photograph till today.

Still weak if you ask me because that picture is in motion.
the one thing that makes me believe its fake is the metal back. it looks a lot like the ipod touch 1g and i dont see why apple would take a step back, instead of a step forward by making it aluminum.
I think the consensus is the new back is made of glass. Any metal would be radio opaque. Not a good thing in a phone.

What would the advantage of a glass back be?
Prototypes aren't fakes made overseas. Check the thread.
I am pretty sure this is the Verizon iPhone.
As I said long ago, this IS the real iPhone HD.
It will have a micro SIM
This is not a chinese counterfeit. The Spanish photo and post are forgeries......
Don't know why microSIM is being used. All I can think of is that it will be harder to jailbreak the iPhone HD. People like me using MyWi on a jailbroken iphone 3G thought we could simply switch SIM cards back and forth from the iPhone HD to the old jailbroken iPhone when tethering was needed.
Evidently this won't work since the sim won't be interchangeable.
So I only hope someone gets MyWi on iPhone HD.
Only TMobile and AT&T will support microSIM in the US.
This phone uses microSIM.
This phone is the AT&T iPhone HD, being announced in a couple of weeks- on sale in early June.
