Huh? Since the massive global launch of 3G networks in 2003, every 3G phone has had it's secondary camera for video calls just above the screen next to the earpiece.
Yes, but don't tell the Apple fanboys this, since they want to believe that Apple has revolutionized 3G.

What are you talking about? The biggest complaint about the current iPhone, especially on Apple fanboy sites such as this one, has been the lack of 3G. As to whether the new iPhone will revolutionize 3G, I think I'll reserve judgment until I see what the 3G iPhone has to offer...

this is real fake,,, even the layout of the whole design is not apple like... the layout is too tense. not enough spacing and it's too busy... apple would not layout 2 phones on the left then a front side and 2 backs of it next to it...
REAL FAKE!!!

Also, why would Apple label the Red iPhone (Red) and not the black one?
Too many inconsistencies here. Just my 2 cent.;)

I know that. I was referring to an earlier post, when someone made the comment about the camera being on the front of the phone. The implication was that no phone has ever done this before, and, as correctly pointed out, nearly every 3G phone on the market has a front-facing camera.

No antenna

There is no antenna on these pictures, and since the case appears to be metal, there would have to be a plastic cover over the antenna as on the original iPhone, on the bottom of the back since this area is exposed when holding the iPhone to your ear to talk. Also, there are speakers where the antenna is supposed to be, on the back of the iPhone. The speakers are on the bottom of the original iPhone so that they reflect off your hand towards the user as you hold the iPhone. Putting them on the back would loose the sound in the palm of your hand or at best put them facing away from the user.

Agreed that if anything is revolutionary about the 3G iPhone, it won't be the presence of a front-facing camera.

Not sure about the antenna; it depends on what the case is made out of - metal vs. some sort of composite. Ideally, the antenna would be positioned at the top of the phone, to minimize interference/shielding from the hand holding the phone.

Zirconia is radio-transparent.

The speaker you use when talking on the phone is the one near your ear, not the one on the bottom of the phone, strangely enough.

Oh my god! A red one! I might just sell my soul or something for a red iPhone! I almost hope it's BS because it's just too cruel!

I know: http://upc.*************/uploads/smilies/smilieloser.gif

I'll get my coat.

If anyone use CS's software, do you feel familiar with the rulers on the edge of each screen? Its either an illustrator or photoshop product but the phones sure looks nice :D

Does anyone else think the BEST camera location would be IN the HOME button? I mean, they look practically the same anyway. For those that feel it would be too low, perhaps the accelerometer would allow you to flip the phone (kinda like we do with Safari now, but a complete 180º).
=rg=
But you always touch the home button :( i probably wouldn't want to flip the phone either. I'd say the top is the best place for it.

This actually doesn't look too bad, but Engadget has called it out as being fake. The video chat interface does look a little odd, imo.

And honestly, I can't see GPS + video chat + 3G + everything else being in this phone because hello, battery life? 3G + video chat would probably kill the phone in an hour.

the background looks fake behind Carlos... could it be an iChat background?

It's a placeholder. They probably don't have the photo shoot finished, or the final selects. This is common.

These are early layouts. The type-o's give it away. The missing button on the RED version could just be a retouching omission.

The only thing that seems to call this out as bogus is the fact that this layout is being done in Photoshop. No agency or studio creates layouts with type in Photoshop. It would be done in InDesign.

Structurally speaking, thats the weakest part of the iPhone. Mine cracked there, and the phone, although looking hideous, still works perfectly. If that --G_d forbid-- happened again, or to anyone else, I would want my camera in perfect condition, along with the rest of the phone. Bad place for camera. Besides, who wants to flip their phone?

Proof this is FAAAAAAAKE

I know for a fact (RED) had a contract with Motorola that does not allow them to brand phones from any other company. That is that.
