Nice fake.

1. XP in the iChat website mockup image isn't capitalized properly.
2. Sleep/wake button missing on Product (RED) version.

Also, there doesn't appear to be any front Camera, which would be neccisary for video chatting, and the black phone is missing one of the speaker banks

Why its a Fake!

Ok ill tell you why its a fake! its called (apple)(shift)(3) or (4) why take pictures of a screen when you can simply use this key combo????

because computers can be supervised, all actions recorded... and onces you took a screenshot, you have to save it somewhere -> you leave other traces

I hope this IS a fake. Why? Two reasons:

(1) Wifi symbol is on the screen, withOUT the 3G symbol
(2) Two words: "Video Chat"

There's been a lot of talk lately about "Video CALLS." If real, this image might suggest that nothing more than iChat's "Video CHAT" feature will be added to the phone, and only when on Wifi (not even 3G). Personally, I'd get alot more out of Video CALLS than Video Chat, particularly as the number of iPhone users continues to rise.

But then again, a "Both/And" scenario would probably be best.

Thoughts?
=rg=

well the current iphone doesnt say 2.5G by the Wifi symbol
and its video chat over Wifi, not video calling, that would be over the 3G network

so therefore this could be the real iphone

These pictures are showing us full aluminum iPhones. Will WiFi and 3G be blocked by this material? Doesn't there need to be some plastic near the chips for a good signal?

Aside from that question, I really hope that this is the next iPhone. It is, by far, the sexiest look we have seen yet!!

can't they implement the antenna into the aluminium piece? however an antenna is made of metal, isn't it?

engadget says that the new iphone don't have a front face camera.

engadget isnt alwys right

I know for a fact (RED) had a contract with Motorola that does not allow them to brand phones from any other company. That is that.

(RED) doesnt have an "exclusive" contract with anyone, its a non-profit organization, and apple is listed on (RED)'s website

Really? sure? why do it hard, if it's so easy? , or does it look more like a natural photo if they shoot it in real?

There's simply no substitution for the real thing. Apple goes to enormous lengths in shooting their products. The have to look and feel like the real thing; like you can hold it in your hand. Hence shooting them and not using 3D.

I know this. I have a dear friend who used to work on the account...in "the vault". ;)

look again, there does appear to be a front facing camera

It appears the black one has a lock button on top and the red one does not. I'm calling fake, but I'd be happy if they're real.

Did anyone notice that the black one is wider than the red one in the photo? Implying they are really two different versions? Maybe that's the difference with the buttons.

These look have a very real look to them, but as someone pointed out, it is "Windows Xp" rather than Windows XP, and there is no trademark symbol. That CAN'T be real. The iChat for Windows is odd enough that it is probably real!

I doubt "Carlos Rodriquez" or his girlfriend will be in any ads ... if there is anything real about these, someone wisely put fake pictures over the real ones, if they work at Apple!

the ichat guy from apples website also looks hispanic and goofy

oh and ichat can also communicate with aim users, which would be a plus for the people wanting to video chat, and maybe just chat from their iphone to aim users

These are obviously bad quality pictures taken with the images sitting in an editing program....looks like Photoshop.

So it's possible it could be "whoever" working on the site page ...and be an early draft (which is why some things are missing and not edited properly)...BUT...I don't think Apple's design team would be using a laptop. I'm sure they all have the fastest computers and the biggest monitors.

Who knows...some people on Crunch Gear are saying that this is how the early pics of the Nano leaked and there was a Cease and Desist within a day from Apple's lawyers. So if that happens then we know it's legit, if it doesnt then they are fakes.

Apple didn't request the leaked images of the new keyboard to be taken down so just because there isn't a cease and desist doesn't mean it has to be fake.

Folks might want to read through the posts here. This guy is claiming a lot.
he's banned  lol

he seems pretty serious, but then again, anyone could make a post like that. I could say I know for a fact the the 3G iPhones will be similar to the ones posted here but there is no chrome border, but it's not true. (although it'd be totally groovy if it was)

edit:
I hope he does know he can be tracked even if he using a proxy... MacRumors or Apple can contact the proxy he used, then the proxy could look at the recent activity and see what IP address he was using. I think? It sure seems like they could do that

Does anyone else think the BEST camera location would be IN the HOME button? I mean, they look practically the same anyway. For those that feel it would be too low, perhaps the accelerometer would allow you to flip the phone (kinda like we do with Safari now, but a complete 180º).
=rg=

Having the camera under a button you use continually doesn't make any sense at all. By using the button to get to the Home screen you are continually covering the plastic over the lens with fingerprints. No one would design a camera that you continually had to clean the lens because it also has another function. This would also open up the extra possibility for scratches covering the lens. That would be a very poor design flaw.

More problems. You can see from the side shot that the bottom is tapered like the top. Then where do the speakers go? Will they point away from you? That makes little sense.

I've got a Treo 750v and the speaker is located at the BACK of the device; still works very well for me. Making calls using the speakerphone is actually both clearer and louder than on my iPhone... ;-)

I, for one, am not sold on video chatting with a phone at all. It's one thing to have video conferences on a computer in a controlled setting, quite different when out and about. I would imagine if it is going to be offered it will be WiFi only. Also, the option to have video chats with 3G have been available for some time now and I never see anyone utilize it.

Obviously, Apple has the capability to make video calls "enjoyable" or something more than just some included option but I can't see it ever becoming mainstream. I just want there to be a iChat instead of the half-ass SMS option we have now.

sound nice :D

LMAO!! This is fake.... I know this cause #1 the macbooks camera pictures look egsactlly like that and for those who own a iPhone or have seen the quality of the camera of the iPhones, they are prity freeking good. Apple woun't downgrade somthing. ESPECIALLY for a promo picture! and the Lock button on the (Red) is missing. Ive seen many people in Starbucks doing all kinds of iPhone designs and posting them. But anyways Nice job on the picture. Gotta give the person props. Just one thing..... Lets hope it will look like this and they will have a full on black cause hey... THIS IS FREEKING SEXY!!!:D:eek::p;):cool::eek::apple:
