We had a whole conversation about how we both liked the blue because it wasn't a light blue

BUT. I noticed he added the case for IPHONE 6 PLUS when I have an iPhone 6
so nowwwww... I HAVE TO CALL BACK and change it back to a regular case. -.-
 
I can't believe you people. I spent $1000 on a 6+ and ordered at 12:40am and was given a free case because they delayed my order due to not being able to confirm my eligibility even though I paid full price and here you all are just trying to take advantage
 
The cases are a $1 to make. You're paying almost $1000 for a phone that costs much less to make. I'd give them the cost of the case if they wanted.

Right, because Apple's ability to afford it makes it any less taking advantage of something thoughtful on their part...

Mine was legitimately delayed.
 
Okay so I got connected to a rep in a few minutes and got my order fixed.

This is basically what I said:
"Hi, I called earlier about my preorder.

I had trouble-adding AppleCare to my preorder I made on the 12th.

The lady I talked to earlier today offered me a free case for the inconvenience, and told me that I had to purchase apple care in-store.

My call got disconnected while I was put on hold, and I’ve been trying to call back all evening."

And basically he said sorry for the wait. He than asked me if I stayed up late or woke up early for the pre-order. Then he asked me what color I wanted, and I said the blue. Then he went rambling on about how he loves the midnight blue because its a deep blue. He then told me to have a nice day, and that was that. :)

What was even more funny - The second time I called to fix my order, it was the same guy I called the first time. We talked like we didn't talk earlier so it was awkward. LOL

Appalling! A company the size of Apple should be able to handle a million simultaneous calls for free cases.
 
Darn it. And I paid for a leather case on my order, and no offer to me when I couldn't get AppleCare. Sucks to be me :(

Yeah I think it sucks when I see other people get free stuff and not me. But it'll even out and you'll probably get something free at a later date.

But to be fair I do have to wait like 10 days for my phone I thought would be here tomorrow :(
 
I was able to get the iPhone 6 black leather case.

I asked her about if AppleCare+ would work in South Korea because I'm moving there next year (actually true) and she said that unfortunately, I would have to be in the US to be able to get it serviced since it's not supported in South Korea. I expressed disappoint in not being able to fully utilize AppleCare+ and said that I will have to then get a case and asked if she might had any recommendations for my phone. She said that they had the silicone and leather ones which were $35 and $45 respectfully. I then replied that I was a bit surprised at how pricey they were and if she felt they were really worth it. That's when she offered to give me a free case. :)
 
I called apple, attempted the same "I got disconnected after being offered a free case" method, she told me she can't do anything about that since it wasn't notated on my account.
Then 5 minutes later I get a call back from her apologizing, and saying she got the approval from a supervisor to send me a case.
I check my account and there it was, a 6+ midnight blue leather case. Gotta love Apple
 
I called Apple last Saturday to try and get a refund on the shipping cost of my leather case. I could not add it to my iphone order using the app on 9/12, so I put the iphone order in first, then ordered the case separately.

The rep from Apple was very nice, and said she'll do one better then refunding my $4.00 shipping and gave me the case for $20. At the time I thought that was great, but now ...
 
After multiple calls getting the case color/size corrected I have got mine coming! The amount of time I spent on hold for each call justifies the case cost lol

The rep just told me that I can add AppleCare+ via calling the AppleCare team on 0800 107 6285. (I don't need AppleCare, just the free case).

Any tips?

tell them how FRUSTRATING it was preordering the phone since their system was down. AGAIN, be adamant and persuasive on how bad your experience was and how INCONVENIENT it was. use keywords like, frustrating, inconvenient, ridiculous, etc. and emphasize on them. give the tech some quiet time to make him feel ur frustration. don't come across as privileged and entitled cuz they won't offer anything. GOOD LUCK :).

U should have asked again about the free case instead of just hanging up. Try calling again.
There's also a chance this thread gets reported/brought to Apple's attention.
