Got 2, 1 for 6 and 1 for 6 Plus. I had 2 orders. I was able to pick any color. Got red on both.
 
Got two iPhone+ 128GB, since I couldn't add them to my case orders on pre order launch day :D
 
i got a midnight blue.

but i never got any confirmation email nor does it show up in my apple account order history.

A little worried.
 
called, got connected within a few minutes...asked about activating in store (i'm using another line's upgrade)...he said the same generic info about having to call my provider, was pissed that no one could give me a real answer. Was also told that the person whose name is listed for "Who can pick up the iPhone" has to be present, even though that person made me an authorized user on the carrier's account. This is the first I'm hearing about that and the person will NOT want to go to the store (hard for them to walk). Used words like "inconvenient, disappointing, not possible", etc. No case :rolleyes:

I'm sure Apple gets these leather cases for $1-$5 a piece. They will easily make it back from all the ones they sell at stores or... maybe Apple is being proactive about another antenna gate?!?!?
 
My tactic was: "how do I order AppleCare? I tried to when I bought the phone and the app kept on crashing." He immediately gave me the phone number for Apple Care

Then I said "do you recommend AppleCare over a case? As I am reading the reviews and they are saying its slippery" he gave me his opinion

Then I said "what cases do you have? I wasn't able to see them as the app kept crashing" he had me go I to more detail about what crashed and I explained my experience.

Then he said: you know what I am going to do, I am going to give you a case


So I didn't have luck with AppleCare, but the App crashing is what he compensated me for with a free case.

Just called and they asked for a callback number so that might be picked up on at this point?
 
I'm assuming that most people who received a free case ordered their phones from apple.com? I ordered from verizon so not sure if people who ordered from a carrier are having any success.

me: im calling because im so FRUSTRATED and really DISAPPOINTED at apple.com
apple agent: sorry about that, what's the issue?
me: so I've been a loyal apple fan for years, and I'm UPSET that I woke up early for friday launch date and wasn't able to login because apple website was down. That was RIDICULOUS, I had to keep refreshing my computer for 40 minutes until I finally got thru. Now when I got thru it was already Mid October launch.. that was INSANE. Why is the website down for that long and the minute I got thru I'm already on backorder for a month of wait.
apple agent: i understand sir, <explains it was a massive opening day order>
me: i know I understand, it's just extremely UPSETTING because i've planned on this for days and I've always ordered online for every iphone release. Now I have to take a day off to pick up my phone tomorrow which is very INCONVENIENT.
apple agent: i apologize sir
me: <pause> *very important to pause and give him time to feel bad for you
apple agent: here's what I can do for your inconvenience ordering and taking off tomorrow.. i can offer you a free case. If you're close to a computer let me know what would you like.
me: okay one sec... <pretended i was surfing to check the cases but i already know what i want> LOL
me: okay give me the 6+ olive brown leather please.
apple agent: sure i can do that for you

there.. if you guys want, u can use my wording word per word. remember to be sincere and don't come off as an extreme douche.

So, I called Apple and just outright asked for a free case. I didn't complain because I have no complaints, in fact I told the representative that everything had gone smoothly with my new iPhone purchase. I said that I'd heard Apple had been somewhat generous during the launch w/ cases for the iphone 6/6+ and wondered if I could take advantage and even if the answer was no, I appreciate his politeness. I told the rep that I knew this was a tough week for him and his colleagues and I wasn't going to make it tougher by pretending. He laughed and said "You wouldn't believe the complaints we've gotten." I told him I would. He said that he'd received a complaint from someone who said he only ordered the gold iphone because he believed it to be "rose gold". Said the guy went off for 15 full minutes about Apple's interpretation of gold. ??? He said for my honesty a case was coming my way.

Honestly, I just think they were told they could comp cases.

I got a brown and a soft pink for the two 6 plus ordered. I just said I was frustrated not getting through on their website refreshing for three hours after taking off from work which was true.
