When I tried to adjust my shipping address a representative accidentally changed my address to another state, and after many phone calls to both Apple and UPS my poor iPhone will hopefully make it to where it was originally supposed to go on Monday. The most recent representative offered me a free case to apologize for the inconvenience, which was nice.
 
Here's my situation.

I got my preordered 6+ in the mail yesterday morning and last night went to my local Apple Store to get a case and apple care. There were far less people in the store then even on a normal day and I noticed two lines out front. One line was 300 people strong or so and figured that was the phone line still there at 7pm on launch day. The other line, I was told by an employee, was just to browse the store or buy a case and it was 40-60 minute wait.

Despite reading of everyone in this thread getting free cases I dragged my 3 kids to the mall to buy one. I got turned away! I called apple support right then and there and was helped with AppleCare but no free case.

I called to follow up with customer service as my support rep suggested and this guy said he would log the complaint about the store and follow up in a few days. No free case. I asked why pages and pages of people are being given all kinds of promo gear and I get turned away from buying one at a store and I get "sir the process is I log the complaint" and no offer of a damn free case. I was told "you can look anything up on the Internet and get any answer you want" WTF happened to Apple? I'd say this Burberry woman needs to reduce the haughty treatment of customers.

So unlike numerous others who complained about network issuers and order issues I complain about being turned away from spending 50 bucks on a case and get barely an apology.

Not OK Apple and considering my 6+ has already had to be restarted a few times to regain its ability to go into landscape mode this is potentially my swan song with iphone. Such garbage.

Oh and when i asked to speak to a manager he told me he was the highest level. Ha, guess I somehow got Tim Cook on the phone this afternoon, bet you all are jealous!
 
Tried this, but got denied.

Was told that because i didn't order from Apple.com (I ordered from sprint.com), she couldn't do it because the case had to be attached to an order. Not sure if this is true....

After I told her the story, I got, "Ok, can I have your order number?"

All of you that have gotten the case, did you order from the apple site?


Yes I was told the exact same thing by two representatives. I told them that if I had been able to get through on the Apple site or app I would have ordered from Apple like I did in the past.

The second rep was very nice and even asked if I had another recent order she could attach it to, because they had to have an order number. She even tried asking if I had a friend or family member with a recent order she really tried, bless her.
 
Got a free case form Apple

I rang Apple to mention that my 6 Plus had a small black mark near the speaker when I bought it and I recieved a free leather Midnight Blue case. Might be useful if you just want to cover the issue and can't wait for an exchange :)

Not sure if they will grant everyone with a free case, but if you have a legitimate complaint give them a call.
They shouldn't because every Tom, Dick, and Harry will call in claiming some kind of mark on their phone just for a case. Apple should have told the OP to go to an Apple store for verification.
 
I actually just called to let them know the text on the back of the phone was crooked on mine and I was instructed to return the phone for a replacement. The guy was really nice, but did not offer a case.
 
I called to tell them the inside of my iPhone 6 case had a blemish and they are sending me a phone to cover it!
 
I tried to get a free case after adding AppleCare to my iPhone 6. They transfered me to 2 different people and the guy said I can't help you. Was hoping to get one. :confused:
 
Just call and say that you called earlier asking about AppleCare, and that you couldn't purchase it during the preorder. Then say that the lady before him/her said that he/she was going to give you a free case. Then say that you've been trying to call back all evening.

That's what I did anyways.

Why scam apple out of a case?
 
They did but only because they accidentally shipped me two. My first one arrived Friday. My second one arrived today. So far I've only been charged for one and I only have one order showing on my apple account. I guess I'll just switch over when the first one gets nasty.
