Do I chat with them now to waive it? or wait till I get my next bill?

I just finished talking to them. There's no charged, YET. But she did note my account and whenever it shows up there's a log that I called about it today. I would call if I were you.

Has anyone actually seen a charge for a full price purchase before? It's been more than 30 days since the $15 change.

I switched to the t-mobile GSM phone for exactly this reason after initially putting the AT&T phone in my cart. I'll happily give $750 to Apple, but AT&T doesn't deserve a dime.

This fee is so strange. It sounds like they could (not saying they will do this) charge you $15 every time you swap your SIM card into a new phone. If they try to charge me $15 for using a 6s then the FTC WILL be hearing about it.

EDIT: If you don't get this resolved successfully and think you're getting ripped off, file a complaint with the FTC:

https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/

This is treated super-seriously, you WILL get a response from AT&T and / or the US govt. If there are enough complaints, the US Govt will investigate and fine AT&T if they broke any laws here.

AT&T, from the comments on these boards, seems to be the absolute worst with pricing, plans and other tom-foolery. Is it the brand name that keeps you people using them? T-Mobile seems to be a front runner for customer service and I carry Sprint, have never had an issue and have the cheapest Unlimited Plan out of all the carriers.

i better not have to call.... it's part of my FAN to not pay activation along with my 25% discount....

I am under a Military Veteran Fan Account. Where is that stated? Seems they change fees whenever they want.

Under Mobile Share Value 7GB Promo with Rollover Data

I paid none last year, but first year on Next. I think they were running a no activation fee special. I have a

I am not preordering, I want to have my phone in my hands before purchase. So, will wait a couple weeks and see reviews. Worried about battery life atm. I buy it at ATT Store and put on my ATT Plan. Hopefully they will know if no activation fee.

The 15.00 won't affect my decision. ATT coverage is perfect for me everywhere I go.

I agree att can't just do dumb things like this

Just upgraded to a 6s and ATT just pissed me off. After nearly 20 yrs with them, and multiple upgrades, they say they can not waive the activation fee this round because I get a discount rate? Never been denied before. Asked for a supervisor and was told it will tell me the same thing. Anyone else have this issue lately? $45 is pretty step!! JMO I try again later in the week.

Did you do full price or actually upgraded with subsidy or next? I did the full price hence I was mad I got charged $15.

WTF was that charge all about? They charge me $15 for a full price iPhone. I paid full price for it. I shouldn'pay any upgrade fee. I'm not even doing anything with my current plan. This is ridiculous. IRATE.
System design glitch. Coding issue. 80% of their IT/development are contractors and mostly in India.
Oh. They are getting a call from me. I spent $1000 to buy the phone outright from Apple. Nothing is changing with my plan. All I am doing is taking my current SIM and moving it. Exactly what AT&T is doing to deserve $15? Also, if my phone is locked that will be another call.

This $15 activation fee" has been posted and discussed all over the web since late July. Not a surprise but I'm definitely disputing it or I'll simply move on to another provider.

If you purchased the "T-Mobile no contract" version listed on the same page rather than the AT&T "full price" version there would have been no fee.

Just call back...

"Charge 'em for the lice
Extra for the mice
Two percent for looking in the mirror twice
Here a little slice
There a little cut
Three percent for sleeping with the window shut
When it comes to fixing prices
There are a lot of tricks he knows
How it all increases
All those bits and pieces
It's amazing how it grows!"

So according to AT&T, if you're already on next prior to August 1 2015 then the $15 "upgrade fee" doesn't apply to you. I've been on next for a while so I'm ok. But still, what the hell is an upgrade fee if you're just taking your SIM card and putting it in another phone. What justify att to charge a fee? They're not facilitating anything between parties to charge a fee. It's U.S. consumer paying apple for a phone. Att doesn't do shhh.

Yeah, I thought I read that before but didn't pay attn. So, no issue for me.

2 year contract price.

Sorry to say those are expected for upgraded plans. Call them and dispute you can waive this as well. What I originally posted is the $15 charge after buying the full price without a contract. That's crazy.

tell them to shove it and go to Walmart and get the Straight Talk Sim for $45.00 per month and you have AT&T. They have other deals with Tmobile at $30 per month but Tmobile isn't good in my area.
