Apologies if this has been posted already as haven't read all 13 pages of thread!

On my iPad 2 in iOS8, ALL of my bookmarks (which I have added to my homescreen) on my home screen are displaying like this:

URL]

The bookmarks still work however, one thing is a little strange - the bookmarks which create a logo (like the Apple bookmark you can see), display correctly (as you can see by the Apple iOS8 bookmark and also 'The Next Web' bookmark icon), however, some of the other icons (I am presuming that these bookmarks do not create an icon but just create an image of the website itself), just do not display correctly?!

Can someone else try and create a bookmark on their iPad 2 and see if they get the same result?

Have you tried clicking on the icon to load the website? It should update once the website has been loaded.

I just confirmed a bug/"feature" - disappearing notifications. I posted earlier in the thread about notifications not appearing at all sometimes, despite having unread emails. Unlocking the phone seemed to cause them to reappear. However, just now, I was reviewing emails in the notification center and they suddenly disappeared. They reappeared when I unlocked the phone.

Maybe this is a security "feature" that causes notifications not to appear if you haven't used your phone in a bit...?

Just now, I was only able to see one of many unread emails in Notification Center, so it's looking more like a bug than a feature.

Since iOS 8, if you are an iTunes Match user and delete any song or album in iTunes, iOS will not delete these songs in the Music app, as well.

anyone else have issues with youtube app and/or youtube videos in other players?

specifically the app is too big on screen, meaning the search icon is barely on the top of the screen

videos don't go to landscape all the time

some videos in other apps like browser/FB freeze

I am on a first generation iPad mini and these are the headaches I've been dealing with since the GM was seeded.

- Multitasking Gestures sometimes stops working. A reboot fixes this.
- The notification center + control center sometimes becomes inaccessible; swiping from the top/ bottom of the screen gives you nothing. A reboot fixes this. But they can still be accessed with the updated AssistiveTouch.
- iOS 8 doesn't remember the order of items you reordered in the share sheets once the app is closed. I.E. Instapaper, put browser to the top and when the app gets killed (killed, not suspended) by iOS, the next time you open Instapaper, you'll find browser back at the bottom.
- Tab reloading is still persists.
- Animation lags almost everywhere from launching the app switcher to accessing the new sidebar in Safari.
- Launching the Settings app doesn't return the left pane to the top. Try scrolling down and access, like, iCloud, then relaunch the Settings app.
- For some reason, I can't enable Spotlight Suggestions and Bing Web Results. Like, if I try to tick them, then go back up one level, I'll find them un-ticked once getting back to the Spotlight Search Settings. (I've read that Spotlight Suggestions are limited to certain countries, but there are people who qualify for this feature but can't enable them as well).
- With Increase Contrast enabled, Spotlight Search looks horrible, turn Increase Contrast off, Spotlight Search still looks as if Increase Contrast is enabled. A reboot fixes this.
- Most users, including I doesn't have the option to enable iCloud photos in Photos & Camera in the Settings app.
- The New Tab and Show all tabs icon in Safari gets disabled randomly. Restarting the app fixes this.
- Today Extension (Widgets) for certain apps are disappearing. Instapaper & Wunderlist extensions seem to be randomly disappearing, while my Evernote extension stays at the Notification Center whatever happens. A reboot fixes this.
- I actually got a respring just by merely posting this. I tapped the post reply button then switched to notes.app, then pressed on text to bring up the magnifying glass to select all. I never saw the magnifying glass. Instant respring.

It works fine for most. Is this for iMessage/SMS? Do you have previews enabled?

----------

Is this on iPhone 6 or 6 Plus? If so, isn't that just the Reachablity feature?

Twitter. iMessage SMS yes.

Notifications don't drag down and show the ability to reply from anywhere. It worked once for me when switched on this morning and never since or before. I don't get it at all.

Previews on yes.

Not sure what the issue is as that seems to work fine on the devices I've been using it on.

if you send a slow-motion video to someone via iMessage, the message will not show the video in slow motion. however, the recipient will get the video properly in slow-motion.

this isnt an iTunes match issue. I experienced the same thing trying to manually delete songs off the iphone from iTunes. worst part is, itunes doesnt even see they are there anymore, but they are definitely on the device and play back properly. i dont even have a Match account

The share sheets drive me crazy. You take the time to arrange them the way you want, and it goes right back to the default the next time you use them.

There have been a few posts regarding Photos and photo albums but I didn't see this one:
With every new phone I get, I load up an album of photos. Each album is from a previous phone.
For the sake of brevity, let's say on my iPhone 6, I have 10 albums, relating to 10 previous phones, each with 100 photos.
On the 5S and every previous iPhone, the photos inside those albums were sorted by date. Even on the 5S when I updated to iOS 8. But on the iPhone 6, all the photos are completely random - and I mean completely random!
So each album has the correct photos, just in an absurdly incorrect order.

Phone in a trance?

Weird problem with my iPhone 6 today.

Last night my battery was charged to 100%, I unplugged it and left it on overnight (screen was dark). The battery level was exactly the same 100% in the morning. I was able to get 2 phone calls during the day, but did notice that the battery use was dropping much more slowly than it had the previous day. However, I couldn't use cellular data or wifi to connect to the internet or send/receive Messages. Turned the phone off and on; several messages and a voicemail immediately arrived and I could use the internet again. Also noticed the battery level dropping more like it had the previous day.

Was my phone in some kind of weird standby mode (or frozen)? Could this have something to do with the fact that we have a low Verizon signal at the house (1 or 2 dots only)?

I have a biweekly reminder set. Today it never went off when it was supposed to. It didn't show up in today or notification center.

I check the reminder itself and saw that the due date was correct but the alert date was two weeks ago. When I change the alert date to match the due date the reminder all of a sudden appeared in Notification Center and today view.

Never had that problem with iOS 7.1.2.

iPad 4 name has been reset to default ( "iPad" ) due to the iOS 8.0 update.

Searching feature in the Messages app... It seems to only search the content of the message. Wouldn't it make sense to also search the names of the people the messages are being exchanged with? Is there a way to turn this in that I'm missing?

Using iOS 8 on a 6+

User actions in/on the control center interact with background objects. When adjusting control center brightness background flashes.
That's not a bug and is actually an improvement to show you what the selected brightness setting actually looks like (since control center itself darkens the sceen some).

Dont think it ever did that or has been designed to do that.

Not sure if mentioned, but my camera sometimes takes pictures and then saves them upside down to the way they were taken.

...yep, tried that already. Its weird because some icons have indeed updated when I click on them, whilst other icons remain blank?! Think the only way to fix this is by re-adding the bookmarks to the homescreen again!

Photo Stream photos are gone after going to iOS8, nowhere to be found on this device, iPhone 5S

...that's not necessarily a bug - the photostream tab has been taken away in iOS8 now. You should find all your pics (which were in the photostream in iOS7) in the 'Recently Added' secition within the photos tab. If they're not in there, they will be inside the 'Collections' section.

Bluetooth keyboard Spotlight

Using a hardware Spotlight button on a bluetooth keyboard used to put the cursor in the Spotlight text entry box by default so you could just start typing. Now you have to tab into it. (Oh, the humanity!)

Right, that's pretty pointless at the moment. I suppose they said they could be changed; they didn't say they'd stay changed ... ;)

Anyone with WiFi issues;

I've had issues with Bluetooth and WiFi, and just disabled Bluetooth which seems to have (at least so far) cured my WiFi lags and connection issues.

Anyone else care to test?

This may be an issue with handoff/continuity? Or just Bluetooth?

Again, small sample size (one) and just for a couple of hours worth of testing, but I'd like to see other's results.

I never leave bluetooth on, and I'm having very significant wifi issues, so no, it makes no difference.

I'll have to live without it, it would appear. Thanks anyway.

Plus, notifications are not even coming through at all today.

When I go into Twitter, there's DMs, Gmail, 3 emails. Only know because I went into the actual app. Previously I'd get notifications, so it would seem that not being able to use the 'interactive notifications' is the least of my problems.

I think this iOS 8 stinks. I've never had so many problems with any previous updates. Gutted I updated now

If I read correctly, you updated. Have you tried a clean install? Mind you might be worth waiting for 8.0.1 to see if that fixes the issues. I did a clean install and have the issues though, but not as much as you do! All my notifications seem to work, just not the quick reply thing always.
