Post your Home Theater

To be honest. I'm not really interested in the TV ;).. But that Guitar... I was just wondering if it might be an Epiphone Dot/Sheraton... Sorry, Its just that I have recently bought a Dot, and well... Anyway... I'm most likely wrong ... Thanks!

It's an Epiphone Dot Deluxe-- purchased sometime around 1996 or thereabouts.

Main HT:
Speakers:
Mains -- AV123 LS-6 Line Source speakers
Center -- AV123 RSC200
Surrounds -- some old Polk Monitor 60's
Sub -- Epik Conquest

Those speakers could blow my face off from a hundred miles away. Combine them with the rest of the speakers in the house and I'm pretty sure you could knock the moon out of orbit...

In short, I WANT SOME! How would they sound if the LS-6's and the RSC200 were recessed into the wall (if even possible)?

Yeah, my audio addiction is as bad as my video and mac addiction.

As for recessing those speakers -- it would be terrible acoustically. Every one of those bajillion woofers is rear-ported (which is why I have gobs of 4-inch thick acoustic panels behind them), and they need a foot or 2 of clearance, even with panels, for the best imaging.

That being said, it really does make for the 'wall of sound' I was looking for when I decided to get line sources for my main theater. :)

Thanks for posting your Home THEATERS.... everyone else seems to be posting their Home Entertainment Centers...

:D

I would tend to agree. I'm not trying to be rude or anything, but...

There really isn't a home theater here. This is a home theater....

And yes that does really exist.

Don't sound too enthusiastic. I have bought the exact same Guitar! =D But yeah, I have pretty good eyes.
Good eye! Actually, I love this guitar- I just don't know much about guitars in general to offer much comment. I mainly just noodle around with the guitars I own (3 and a bass). I take it you're digging yours?

It's a really great guitar, nice tone (That may be the amp. But :p), nice construction (Can't tell it apart from the equivalent Gibson), and great playability.

It's completely different to my Strat! But I like them in different ways... I've got my dads old Epiphone Acoustic, so i'm currently trying to be Tommy Emmanuel! lol But yeah, It's a really nice piece of Musical equipment!

t.v stand

My den setup: eventually I may put up a screen and projector since actually the space would be perfect for it, but for now, this is stand-in enough for "home theater" for just my wife and I. (Pics are from Jan of this year, but nothing much has changed).

56" Samsung DLP/1080p, some crap speakers, and (shown) crap Philips surround unit (came free with the TV), PS3, and Wii. Also not-used in ages DVD players and VCR.

Just around the corner is a closet with a custom PC setup, the main running both Win7 and OSX, with DVI-to-HDMI cables running through the wall to the DLP. Media server with tons of hard drive space for movies and TV shows. Also several DirecTV sat receivers, HDHomeRun network tuner, and router equipment. Looks are unimportant, all of it is the way I like AV equipment to be:- blissfully beyond sight or earshot.

I really like the style of t.v stand you are using. Do you mind telling me what kind it is and where I could find one. Thanks for your help.

That kicks ass...I guess I had a good day, I listened to a radio interview with Will Wheaton this morning just finished watching him guest star on Leverage, got to see a great home theater--what would make my day is a BJ from Deanna Troi and a 3 way with 7 of 9

Thanks- we're using two white BONDE units from IKEA (where else?) put together to span the space, and elevated on two sets of 6" CAPITA steel legs.

I love the height the legs added- I would have been really disappointed with viewing our TV at the normal 18.5" height of the stands, but that's just a personal pref.

Seems they discontinued the white BONDE- probably why we got ours on sale for $150 each.

for a dedicated theater room, it has a very small screen.

afaik that room was made a few years ago. With more recent projection technology I'm sure they could get a way bigger hi-def screen in there ;)

the seats are nice and th wood control panel seems like great workmanship, My friend designs and sells media rooms, I try and get the one he just did, with the 110" screen, it one awesome room.

that's awesome. time to get your friend to call up Capt. Picard. He needs a new hi-def viewscreen.

as you can see in the photo, there is no theater to be seen, but on the right hand side of the fire place is a rock, you push it and a secret panel (one of the wooden panels opens to this

That is a 110" HD screen (projected), the media closet is located out in the other room in a closet, it supplies the whole house, uses a radio remote, This setup cost about $60,000. has VDU, comcast cable, blue ray (200 disc changer), 2x xbox 360, can be delivered to any TV in the house.

7.2 surround sound.

under the chairs are extra woofers, so you can have to option to feel the movie, Transformers was awesome to watch and feel.
