How is out of focus content supposed to look? Looks great to me
Best way I can put it, it's not supposed to look like a water color painting. Notice how it looks splotchy, kind of dabbed on there with little strokes. It should be a smooth blur, like if the Notification Center was pulled over it :p

This isn't directed at you, it is not your fault at all. Apple just has made the image softening way too aggressive. Some scenes really aggrivate the softening effects and others don't.

I just got my hands on a 6S today, it isn't mine, but a family member's. I'm the "tech guy" though so I get to play around with it while I set it up for them and such lol. Took a few shots, might share some later.

The photos from the iPhone (low Iso) can be nicely and clearly resized. I use an app called "big photo" which allows viewing of your photos on your iPhone at full resolution. The app also allows resizing of your photos and cropping, etc. the iPhone is capable of taking amazingly clear images, it just depends on how good of a photographer you are and what apps you use to get the best results. The native camera in iPhone is not good at night because of the high iso noise. Apps like CORTEX CAMERA and AVERAGE CAMERA PRO are great for night shots.

Here is a photo of a house I resized to 18mp equivalent using Big Photo and it looks great! Share your thoughts!

Here is the HULK taken with "Average camera pro". I used a tripod and took 16 images that were stacked in the app to give a very clear noise free image. The app can stack as many as 128 photos so it can be stretched to pull out more dynamic range without creating noise in the photo.. It was processed with SnapSeed.

You guys live in some really beautiful areas. I'm jealous!

Anyway, I took a few photos today at the park to test the 6s Plus camera. I've attached a couple, but there are more on the Flickr link at the bottom. I'm pretty happy with how the camera has performed. I haven't shot any low light photos yet, but I hope that they will also be as pleasing.

They are all unedited, except for the kids LARPing at the end. HDR was used on some.

Taken at the Out of the Darkness suicide prevention walk in Chicago yesterday with a 6s plus, no edits. I have to admit... I don't love it.

Taken with the front of the 6s plus at the walk. Apologies for my appearance. Was a hard day.

I don't know. I almost feel like my 6 plus was better. My 5s was better. I'm not sure what I dislike so much, but I haven't really been happy with any images. The first picture I took was using the front camera and it was so bad I'm not even going to post it. Looks like a joke. :/

A shot down the road... A test with "Average camera pro". 64 photos were taken for this test. I have provided a before and after comparison of the image that was processed in SnapSeed. I was able to pull the shadow detail out without introducing noise, this photo was stretched pretty far to increase dynamic range. Now take in mind, a tripod must be used with this app, the iPhone can't be handheld. I need to try this app on the buildings in downtown soon.
