Order mine and same 14-21 delivery date. So plan to pick up one on the 10th at the store and either cancel or return the pre-order one. If the sounds sucks, then return both.

This. There’s a lot of competition in the true wireless space and the Apple tax is pricing these toward the excellent sennheiser and master and dynamic headphones. They need to be stellar to justify the price. For 100 less there are a ton of very good alternatives.

How can you even "extended use" air pods when their battery only lasts 1-2 hours? I love my AirPods, but the short battery life is a real pain. I also love my PowerBeats 3 which have an awesome battery, and I am a little disappointed that these new ones don't have that same fantastic battery life. It's the only reason these aren't an immediate buy for me even though their battery life is still pretty respectable. The price and battery drop just make it hard to justify while my 3s still work great.

Powerbeats 3 = 12 hours
Powerbeats Pro = 9 hours (best of any independent wireless earbuds, still amazing in my mind!)

The Powerbeats Pro will also add 1.5 hours of battery life if placed in their case for 5 minutes.

Ordered but ready to return in a heartbeat if:

1) they sound like Beats headphones; and/or
2) they block out too much ambient sound.

I hope and assume Apple has influenced this version enough to make them worthy of the $250 sticker price. In the past, I’ve felt Beats’ sound quality was garbage for the money.

Serious workout headphones need hooks, so this is the way to go. Long runs on hot days don’t mix well with AirPods’ slick surface. BUT, you MUST to be able to hear people, cars, etc... around you. It’s just not safe otherwise. Even in the gym you should be able to hear those around you at least a little.

I’ve read Samsung has a software feature that allows the user to dial in how much ambient noise they can hear. It would be nice if Apple includes a similar feature.

I preordered mines... I have Powerbeats 3 and if they are on par or better with AirPod functionality... I will be happy

I always hated how the AirPods sounded and how they look... and they just look stupid on people to me. PB Pro’s is the perfect alternative

I am also a beats fanboy.... I lost my studio 2’s that were 2 years old but still I functioned like new. When I catch a sale I’ll be replacing those with studio 3’s

I preordered at BestBuy because they let me use my 10% off Birthday offer. Ships by May 17th.

I’ll be on vacation during the initial Apple delivery dates anyways so the $25 off was just an added bonus.

Bose SoundSport Wireless (and Free if you don’t like wires) have you covered

May as well cancel your order as they will block out most ambient sound as they have sealed plastic seals designed to block out background sound.
[doublepost=1556899677][/doublepost]Very curious to know how the sound quality will compare to the excellent sounding sennheisser true wireless in ear momentums...

I get more than one or two hours out of them. I just watch a few shows on DVR, that's about it. I certainly am not wearing them for three hours straight. So after an hour or so, my ears get sore. I blame it on the hard plastic. I've had mine for over a year, so I know the battery life has diminished.

Like several of you, my order is also showing a May 14-May 21 delivery window.

It will be interesting to see if our orders get pushed up to the promised May 10 release date or if Powerbeats Pro are truly in limited supply.
I paid the extra $8 and the window shrank to May 13 to 21st.

I think it's kind of horse**** to allow a pre-order, with limited colors (limited to ONE color) that doesn't even arrive on the release date.

And I ordered exactly as pre-orders opened.

Tim Cook is supposed to be this operations genius, but Apple products seem to always ship delayed and in super limited quantities.

If you can't make the release date with a pre-order, just wait until you have enough product.

It's really frustrating.

Do yourself a favor and order a near match off Amazon for under $40. I have the soundpeats brand, and they've been great companions during workouts for years.

If you're paying $249 for these, you've been scammed. I shudder to think what the profit margin is on these.

Not sure why anyone would pay $250 for these when are are options like the Jabra Active elites out theres for significantly less. I am bias though because I have never been happy with the quality (both physical and sound) of any beats headphone I have owned.

I guess if you prefer over the ear headphones, then these are for you.
Pro's will have superior sound, connection, on-bud individual controls, battery life, and no chance of falling out.

I got a May 21+ ship date, with standard shipping, because I used gift cards. I canceled it and I'm going to go to the store on May 10 and buy them. This whole pre-order thing is ridiculous!

Yes, it's frustrating I know. But how else do we get free advertising from the blogs noting that our product is so in demand that it's already slipped beyond the debut date? When the date slips in pre-order, they must be selling out, amirite? - Cook reading MR

{a cynic's re-imagining of the pre-order date slipping}:D:p

Just noticed that dates have already slipped by 2 weeks for both delivery and pickup. Delivery earliest May 28, pickup June 5 (in my area).

I really like squishy tips so I always buy comply tips for my headphones. Does anyone know of a reviewer that measured the “tip hole” or whatever it’s called? I’m wondering if they’re the same size as the Beats X?

Think these’ll work?

Comply Sport Pro Premium Memory Foam Earphone Tips for Beats by Dre BeatsX, Powerbeats 2 & 3, Tour 2 & 2.0, Noise Reducing Replacement Earbud Tips, Comfortable Secure Fit For Workouts (S/M/L, 3 Pairs)

Very awesome but I think I want the Ivory. Wish they were all available now.
I wish they offered grey. (Or gray, depending on where you’re from. )

Just ordered, arrives May 29 - June 5. These will replace my Bose Soundsport wireless which have way too little volume and let in way too much ambient noise. These should be perfect casual listening + gym buds.
