Here in Los Angeles, the in store date is June 5th for pickup from web orders. Just checked.

I really think people are over-reacting to the launch day thing. There's probably a good chance that 13/14 to 20/21 will actually end up on arriving on launch day for most people.

Look, I hope you are right but I doubt you are. Apple always lists the launch day delivery date right on the page when ordering a product that they plan on delivering that day. Then I’ll agree that when dates begin to slip later than launch day sometimes some portion of those later deliveries still arrive early at launch. What is different with this is NO orders ever showed launch date. I honestly think they don’t plan on a big “launch day” and I think shipments begin on the 10th including to Apple Stores which I also doubt will have stock on the 10th.

They will sell so many of these. Though some people will buy them just to get hands free without having little white tooth picks sticking out of their ears.

Unfortunately, if these are like the old power beats, they do not have an adjustable hook. So at least for me they don’t sit all that well. Sad, but I’m not part of the one size fits all category of folks, so this is just what I have to deal with.

May well still be true but the shape of the earhook, how it attaches to the speaker part etc. is extensively redesigned in both shape and size (much smaller) so it may be better now for you.

My post was largely sarcasm. I guess the internet is not good at that. My larger point is that these are being released on 5/10 in the stores and like virtually EVERY apple product launch I have ever seen, preorders should be delivered on launch day. I too ordered within 5 seconds so either (a) preorders WILL still be delivered on launch day or (b) they will not. If it's (a), then yes, charging someone $8 for expedited delivery was stealing since the rest of us will get them on the same day. If it's (b), then in my opinion, Apple botched the preorder since it appears to be shipping these later than the in store launch which is highly unusual.

It’s not unusual. Apple doesn’t offer launch day delivery for all their products. Sure high profile products like iPhones, iPads, and AirPods have but they may not view their Beats lineup as the same. Many other Apple products just ship when ready and I think that day is the 10th for the Pros. You can’t call it stealing when you pay $8 and get it in the timeframe promised (13-20th) just because you assume that magically means the 10th.

I paid the extra $8 and the window shrank to May 13 to 21st.

I think it's kind of horse**** to allow a pre-order, with limited colors (limited to ONE color) that doesn't even arrive on the release date.

And I ordered exactly as pre-orders opened.

Tim Cook is supposed to be this operations genius, but Apple products seem to always ship delayed and in super limited quantities.

If you can't make the release date with a pre-order, just wait until you have enough product.

It's really frustrating.

I had this happen last September with my XS Max. Start of my order said release date delivery. By end of order it was 2 1/2 weeks after release for delivery. This happened because ordering in my area didn’t go live until 7 minutes late.
Emailed a nice letter to Tim Cook. He sent it to the overall head of customer service and she kept me in the loop every day. She actually called me on the day I emailed.
Upshot: my phone arrived on first release day.
Was worth the effort for me to calm down and write a clear, concise letter.

By going back to the Borg look of the BT headsets of yore? ;)

I have Airpods and will continue to use them. The Beats will complement them when I need noise isolation or for exercising.

I did assume (apparently incorrectly) that a premium priced product from Apple would arrive on launch day without a shipping up charge. When Apple announced 5/3 for preorders and 5/10 release, my guess is 99 percent of us on this forum assumed if they preordered quickly they would arrive on launch day. I can be disappointed.

I ordered right when the orders opened, and it was very clear that the expedited delivery would not deliver on launch day, and that expedited delivery was only getting you 1 day earlier. I don't think it was 'stealing'.
I paid it in the hope expedited delivery would surprise me with a release date delivery.

That is certainly what I was led to believe. I guess from now on when I head "ships on X releases on Y" I will just assume that's not to be the case. Until I order an iPhone and it is to be the case.

The reason people thought there was going to be delivery on the release date is because that is their practice with MOST of their products---it's the experience I've had when ordering iPhones, AirPods and iPads---I assumed, not unreasonably, it would be the same with Beats Pro. The fact some people are roasting folks who were expecting to receive this product on launch day is baffling.

May 13-20 and I also did express shipping.

I have two sets of Powerbeats 3(gym), Studio Beats 3(flying) and AirPods(work and home).

I am hoping these do well replacing the AirPods. I love the ease and sound, but for work they don't last long enough to complete an hour meeting. Also they barely stay in my ears (right ear is good, but left one falls out a lot). No review has discussed the phone call quality on the but I am hoping they are using some of the airpod tec.

Power beats are ok for calls, but I tend to have to hold the mic to prevent the mic picking up random noises.

I find mine is the same way. the right one fits pretty good and the left one wants to just "almost" fall out all the time. dang stupid ear canals.....

If the case charged wirelessly I would had bought them, but its clear apple once again purposefully withheld that to sell the same thing again next year with wireless charging.

People who are buying these do you have air pods or chosen them over air pods?

I have airpods that are on their way out. Last about an hour now. Airpods are good but I always preferred the sound and noise isolation of the Powerbeats minus the wires

I am choosing these over airpods because airpods leak sound. They create a much better seal. On that note, I was considering other brands like Galaxy Buds/Jabra/Sony/Bose, but their call quality is not comparable to Apple's. I think Apple really gets it right with call quality. People always can't tell the difference when I use airpods for calls.

Ordered another pair though Best Buy in case one is bad. This is typical for Apple. And Best Buy is still saying delivery by the 17th ship date.

For those waiting till late May or June

What do you mean "in case one is bad"?

Bought beats in the past and lets just say the quality of the product is less than stellar. Granted that was when they were still pushing micro USB charging and apple still too lazy to devote time to redesign of the internals. So you'll forgive if my past experiences weigh in on lack of confidence.

Same thing with iPhones and iPads and having micro scratches on the glass out of the box or a chip in the metal. It happens. It's not about quality, but how fast china can pop these out and turn a number for Tim Apple.

Bought from best buy also, hopefully their ship by date is accurate. I had a 10% coupon (unique code) sent to me that I was not gonna use that worked, plus 5$ reward credit, so a little bit cheaper than MSRP. I need these before a trip on May 23rd so hopefully best buy is serious about their ship dates. Also regretting now, I placed an apple order for initial delivery this morning, then cancelled it. Oh well.

B&H btw in my experience is terrible with meeting their pre-order dates. Great online retailer for good prices and tax free purchasing here in cali for available items though. Just FYI.

They were VERY clear. I saw the Powerbeats Pro on sale within 5 seconds of when it went up on the Apple.com store and it clearly said:

Shipping Expected Delivery: May 14-21 (Standard) May 13-20 (Expedited)

This same scenario has happened numerous times with iPhones. They put a date on the site that they can guarantee and typically your delivery date gets bumped up. If you delivery date gets bumped to the 10th (which is highly likely), call Apple for a refund. My order confirm arrived in my inbox at 9:01am CST with a delivery of 14-21. It's Apple. They're pretty good at this so I would be surprised if people who ordered immediately do not receive them on the 10th. That would be a first based on my experience that includes a lot of pre-orders for iPhones and iPads.
