I get this when I try to access the Order Status of my iPod mini:

Apple's Online and phone Order Status services are temporarily unavailable due to a scheduled upgrade to our systems.

I saw the same "error" the night before the eMac Updates :D

To my knowledge the store has always come back up at around 14:00 GMT, which in ET would be 09:00 so I would say these reports are accurate.

I would like to say that it seems as though a lot of people have high hopes for 'Book updates tomorrow, let's hope they don't get disappointed!

darn

i posted that order status thing in the wrong forum! now im not the first one... oh well, heres the thumbnail

That's what I have been getting for about an hour when I try to check my iBook order.

If you parse the wording carefully ("a scheduled upgrade to our systems") , it could mean a scheduled update to the systems that they sell. :p By extension, that would mean an update of the system that you've ordered, as they bump it to the new model.

For those of you who missed the smiley, yes, that is a joke. Hopeful remark, yes. Would I like it to be true? Yes. But a joke, nevertheless. And before you ask, yes I did go to law school to learn how to read like that :D

error in page

My friend just told me when he went to the apple site, he saw a graphic that said "All New 15-inch PowerBook" This was just about 10 minutes ago.

CONFIRMED IBOOKS as far as i'm concerned......

Is it me, or did the ibook page on the store have 4 options and not just 3 before today? Thats gotta make at least IBOOK revisions 99.999% true. Now for those powerbooks!!

This observation has proven to myself that I'm wayy to obessive about going MAC after 20 years of putting up with PCs.

DING DING DING... only what 9 hours to go??

Hang in there buddy! ;)

The education store has 4 iBooks, but it's cause one has a cd rom. The regular store still only has the 3 iBooks.

14'' iBook with Superdrive, anyone?

I truly hope.

The Superdrive is the one thing that is making me lean towards the Powerbook...But if I could get it in an iBook AND save some money...I'd be happy. :D

The "All New" is kept purely for irony and spite.

Seems that it was a false alarm if that was the graphic he saw. If you look on the URL, the date on the file is "091603" or, September 16, 2003. This looks like a relic from the introduction of the Rev. B.

And this is exactly why Apple wil not do it... they want your money ;)

Oh Yeah

Here goes the Apple Soho Store,

Will be in the line as soon as done with the classes!

Scream at me all you want, but if those are the specs on the 12"PB, then why bother? I'll be, unfortunately, sticking with my Rev. A 12"PB for anthor 6 months then. *crossing fingers that this is wrong*

I agree wholeheartedly.
There doesn't seem to be any glaring "upgrade neccessary" specs on the new 12.1. I have a Rev. B 12 incher that I got in February (coincidentally a week before the last round of PB update rumors). These rumored specs induce no feelings of buyer's remorse.
Now, if these specs happen to be wrong and we end up getting G5 PBs tomorrow... Well then, that's another story. I would be willing to bet my entire life savings on the fact that there WON'T be any G5 PBs tomorrow.
But then again, I do tend to have the worst luck when it comes to predictions...

Kickass! I was expecting a 1.25Ghz G4 in the 12" PB. A 1.33Ghz G4 would be awesome :D .
I wonder what kind of Video Card it's going to have...

Ooh you bring up a good point...
Now, if they stuck the Radeon in the 12 inch...then I might be a little...upset...
But just a little.
