LOL I've noticed this trend too. If you're not a majority holder, I don't see why this is relative to anything. I feel like people just buy 2 shares of AAPL to proclaim on MacRumors that they are an Apple shareholder.

glad i'm not the only one calling these tools out.

"hey, look, I'm an apple shareholder, so my opinions and what i post here hold more weight" ...."by the way, I own 2 shares of AAPL stock!"

so stupid

Let me make a comment, since we have 22 pages of BULL SH**T!

I have 0 problems with my Iphone 4, and the one issue I do have is it's so sensative, and so was the iPhone first gen, that sometimes I mute, etc.

Yet people rant and rave over attentuation, of signal, and I have not got any. In the bumper or out. Mind you I'm in NY, where AT&T signal sucks.

Yet I still have no issues. How many people have legitimate issues. You sound like asses, oh I got 1% attenuation. Your dumb ass wouldn't know, if you did or not!

People up on here make me sick!

Now I got my two cents in :D I already feel better.

Yes. Everyone that has issues with their phone are idiots and just don't know how magical the device is. Give me another big freakin break.

I wouldn't send mine back...

I wouldn't send mine back even if there was a recall. For the first time in years I have been able to make calls from my house where my other iPhones received almost no signal. The new iPhone is incredible, but it's being overshadowed by unaware humans who read two lines of a google news article and then go spout their opinion to their ignorant friend over a starbucks coffee. I bought it, I like it, I'm keeping it.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8A293 Safari/6531.22.7)

What's funny is that if one of us says "I don't have the issue" those that do have the issue call us Apologists. I'm happy with my iPhone 4. It works beautifully, no matter how I hold it. My family members who have iPhone 4 also cannot replicate the issue. We all tried! My colleagues who have iPhone 4 have all tried as well. Guess what? None of us have the issue. I have had a couple of magical and easy to run facetime sessions talking about it. We live in a range of coverage areas, some good, some bad. So the issue may not be as easy for Apple to identify. Would it be a surprise if it was a production issue? Not really.

Any kind of global recall won't happen. Why? Because the issue doesn't affect the globally deployed product.

Let's wait and see what Apple say.

I am not an apologist... Just stating how it is with me and the 10 iPhone 4 owners I know.

Sent from my brilliant, unaffected iPhone 4. Magical.

Do you really think that it's just not signal strength in your area that is helping you out? I'm in a similar situation where I work and live in areas with great signal strength. However, your anecdotal evidence versus the testing and thoughts of Anandtech, Consumer Reports and Antennasys don't exactly carry the same weight in my opinion.

It's a flippin PHONE. Nobody's lives are at stake here. This whole problem is a matter of signal strength... and it apparently doesn't affect everyone.

Worst case: Apple offers free cases to anyone who's bought an iPhone 4. Use your iPhone's serial number as a coupon code to get one, either on-line or at an apple store.

Yet another mindless fanboy telling everyone to just get a case. Everyone I know with an iPhone 3G doesn't use the case and their phone reception is just fine. Why should such a beautiful device be covered up? :apple:

My iPhone 4

Look I actually love the iPhone 4, as a smartphone it does almost everything I need in my work eg contacts, diary, some key apps oh and I'm also able to use it as a phone but truthfully the call reception/quality is nowhere near as good as the cheap nokia I owned 5 years ago. I don't think its even as good as my last 3g iPhone.

The camera and video camera feature are excellent

Reminder
1. Keynote presentation problems
2. Why use a bumper - why invent such a thing?
Reason - Apple knew all along

Yes. Because where there is smoke, there is only an Android fanboy and no real problem with this phone. It's beautiful so it really doesn't matter if it functions as a phone should (by making phone calls or something).

Once again... give me another freakin break.

It's guys like that who give all :apple: fans a really bad name. :apple: is supposed to stand for best in quality, not most rabid fanaticism.

Cool, thanks for the huge font. It gives you more credibility.

"the iPhone 4 reception issue presents a Toyota-style PR crisis for Apple"

How can anyone basically compare signal loss to life threatening brake failure? Why not compare the signal loss to the BP oil spill too?

If I were in the market for a smartphone right now I'd buy a Droid X or Incredible, not the iPhone 4. Sorry but this thing is a lemon as far as I'm concerned.

They aren't comparing the incident, they are comparing the PR behind it.

more big letter posts please!
they make you look like you know what you are saying.

I don't understand why people are making a huge deal out of the antenna technically its not a problem the antenna works brilliantly on my 4 no issues. Ok, so you need to make sure your hold palm is covering the antenna, if you can't make a small change in the way you hold your iphone or you can't invest in a bumper, then return it, and get a different phone.

Compared to my 3G, the 4 has way superior reception where I live.
Apple isn't going to recall millions of iphone's over this.

Obviously it's not on the level of the Toyota/BP stuff, but it's a huge black eye to :apple: when they keep touting how they make "perfect, genius" products in contrast to the crap from other companies. It's very simple thought experiment - if Dell had come out with this phone and this defect what would people be saying?

PR crisis, as in negative PR.

If Apple recalled all of them.. I'd probably not even send mine in. It just works. Maybe I get lucky by only using it in magical signal areas, but even when I've taken it to bad areas it's worked well. :/

Presumably Apple hired that team of antenna engineers to fix this one way or another.

Why should a person have to think about how they hold the phone? What ever happened to "it just works".

You spelled sensitive wrong. Geesh.

What Antenna Problem!!!!

WHAT ANTENNA PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have got an Iphone and know about 12 other people with one and no one is reporting the antenna problem!!!!!!

I can with any of these phones cover the left corner with both my hands also get another person to put their hands ontop of mine and the iphone gets full bars. Thats 2 sets of hands covering the left corner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This antenna problem people are having looks like affects a a batch of units not every single handset. It cannot be a design fault as i cannot replicate it neither the other people i know.

THIS AS USUAL HAS BEEN SPREAD BY THE MEDIA AS A WIDE SPREAD ISSSUE LIKE THE YELLOW TINGE ISSSUE ON THE 27INCH IMAC'S.

PR crisis, as in negative PR.

People aren't getting that. They think the comparison is being made to the actual brake failure. Its not. They are comparing how Toyota covered it up much the same way Apple is. This is about PR not the incident itself.
