I am a bit of an app hoarder
And my iphone has become my portable gaming console so I like to have a few games with me.
The music was the biggest thing for me - Itunes match has helped, but it doesnt work smoothly over 3g. I find that every few songs it will play a few seconds and then stop although the play time still continues to count. Its become very annoying to me as I always use it in my car. Maybe 4g will fix it, but would still rather carry most of what I want on my phone rather than downloading all the time and running up my data.

The photos and video though did push me for the the bigger model. I sync daily (usually) but I do plan to se the camera a lot more, especially if it has improved in dark lighting. And having the Ip4 , wasnt sure how quickly the batter camera eats up space with pics and videos.

I would never have bought the 64 GB if I wsnt selling my old phone, But I figured why not

Yea it defintely sounds like you use more space than I do. I would have liked to get the 64. How much are you getting for your i4?? I didn't bother trying to sell mine b.c i figured no one would want it. It still works perfect so I'd rather keep it as a back up phone if my i5 breaks.

Thanks! So, if for both phones I selected "replace this phone" but just typed in a different number for one of them, the phones should be activated for both numbers when they arrive?

Oh no, I don't think can be activated both under same number. maybe I dont know what you're trying to ask.

Stood up and pre ordered my first Apple product, coming from an Android.

Will I have to port my contacts over from scratch?

If you've got them on Android chances are you've got a GMail account attached to the phone and that your contacts are syncing to. Just go to gmail.com, click on the little arrow next to "GMail" and then a small menu will show up. Click on "Contacts" and then a new page should show up showing all of your contacts. Once you're on this page click the little checkbox to select all of your contacts. Then click the button that says "More" and click on "Export". Select "All Contacts" for which contacts you want exported and then click vCard format to export it as a vCard.

Once this is all done, you should have a vCard with all of your contacts downloaded into your "Downloads" folder (or wherever your browser downloads files to, mine is set to my desktop). Go to iCloud.com and sign in. Click on "Contacts" and when it loads up, click on the little gear icon on the bottom and click "Import vCard". Select the vCard that you got from your contacts in your Gmail account, and they should all show up.

Now when you get your iPhone, you just sign into iCloud with your Apple ID and password, and all your contacts will begin to sync with iCloud. This process is a lot easier than it sounds. Good luck and good decision on making the switch! I too went through the same process last year and do not regret it one bit. :)

Got the billing address wrong :(

Is that bad? Debit card was already charged full amount...

After a gazilllion attempts on IE:( and a few less on Safari:(,I finally got through with Apple:apple: at 434am.AT&T would not let me add a line & Apple:apple: finally did.

Has anyone else noticed that when you click pre order and the iPhone is added to your basket, further down the page are accessories that you might want to buy.

On the section where is shows the 'Additional Lightning to 30 pin adapter'

It mentions that the iPhone 5 comes with one included. Here's a screen shot, I've highlighted the section.

Went from "we've received your order" to "processing" then back to "we've received your order."

Is that bad

I successfully logged on apple.com and was done ordering my 32GB white iPhone 5 at 3:10am EST. Got my delivery date at 9/21. I had no issues whatsoever. First time pre-ordering an iPhone and I can say, I'd do it again.

Now just sit back and wait for my tracking info. :D

No Prob!

I got right in at 2am using the AppleStore App. Literally had the confirm email at 2:01am!!!!!

Update!! I just got off the phone with apple to add
AppleCare+. They told me I was the earliest order they
have came across so far! They said I may have been the
very first one to order. Actual order time was 12:01AM.
5 seconds shy of 12:02!!! I pleaded for an email confirming!
he joked that I needed to win a prize!! I will update if I can
get confirmation from them!! The rush of IPhone pre order day
is awesome!!!

VERY nice move, Apple. :)

I couldn't connect to the Apple site until 4:10 AM, so I placed my order then and then realized it wouldn't deliver until October 5, so I canceled that order and went over to ATT.com and placed my order there, and my confirmation says it should deliver by September 21. Hopefully that's accurate! Haven't gotten an email, but did take a screen print.

Hey I hope so too for your sake. Jsut know that sneaky little word "Should" thats part of the phrase should deliver by September 21. is another way of saying "We reserve the right to do whatever the he|| we want...have a nice day"

:D:eek:;)

I woke up at 4:05 am EST (which is an hour after the Pre-Order started). I figured there would some delays and crashes at first. But even buying the phone 65 minutes after the start, I have the 2 weeks estimated shipping. Hopefully it will be sooner than that. However the process was easy and quick. I upgraded two phones in two different transactions without any issues.

I woke up at 3am EST and managed to order and be back in bed by 3:20am EST. This is the fastest preorder I've have done out of the last 3... AT&T site was giving me trouble so I tried Apple and it went through with ease!

Actually, it says: "Shipping information:
Your iPhone 5 will be delivered on 9/21/12."

I know anything can happen, but still hope that's right... I have to ship the old one to Gazelle by 10/1.
