Suspect Apple likes to keep DRAM minimal to squeeze more profit

Nope. DRAM burns battery because it always has to be powered, even when the CPU is sleeping. Every 32 ms, the entire contents of RAM are read out from the array and rewritten. That means an iPhone sitting idle is reading and writing about 100 GB/s, even when the CPU has gone to sleep.

Didn't beta testers pick up on this when they were testing 13.2, or does Apple not care what beta testers have to say?
By that logic software would never have a minor release because all bugs would have been seen and reported. There would never be point releases either. Apple may have noticed it but perhaps didn't feel it deserved stopping the release since it can be patched later.

When this 13.2 issue was first reported, I posted that I had not been experiencing it. However, I have since noticed that although my apps are not reloading per se, Safari is definitely dumping webpages out of memory and reloading tabs when I switch back from another app. It's not causing me any major problems but it is definitely happening and I can see it being an issue for some.

EDIT: iPad Pro 10.5

It’s been there since iOS 13.0 beta 1 for me, and they didn’t care about my feedback!

Seems odd that Apple would fix something that wasn't broken. Could have sworn there was some apple loyalists who said it was working as intended.

Have you considered the possibility that it was working fine for them at the time, or that they just hadn't noticed any issues? Rather than apply critical thinking, I suppose it's easier to label people as "apple loyalists" in an attempt to look clever on the internet among a group of strangers

I just tested with 4 Safari tabs open and apps in the switcher. I left them in the switcher for a few and when I pulled up Safari later, no reload and no reloads switching between the other tabs. I’m fairly confident it‘s fixed now. 🙂
No. It. Is. Not.

Have you considered the possibility that they just didn't say it was working for them but defended apple in saying that we were over reacting and that there was nothing wrong with ios? Lets not be ignorant and assume that loyalist do not exist and run rampant on these boards.

Awesome. Thanks for the confirmation!

I’m a bit of an Apple fan, though loyalist would be a stretch considering I also use Windows, Linux and Android. But I’ve been quite vocal about the bloody mess of iOS 13, particularly 13.2.

Thankfully, having installed the latest beta, opened up about 14 Safari tabs, switched back and forth through lots of apps, including some demanding ones, the Camera and so on. I’ve not had a single unexpected reload.

It was bad for me before the beta, couldn’t even switch between Amazon and Safari without them both reloading (and those were the only apps open).

It’s early days to be making a definitive judgment, but so far, it’s a vast, vast improvement.

Also got another carrier update with the beta, I’m not going to hold my breath, but here’s hoping improvements have been made there too, that’s the only other serious issue I have been having.

I have not much on line about how IOS 13 broke CarPlay, I thought it was something I did when my 2018 Nissan that worked just fine with my iPhone 8 and IOS 12 totally went off line once I upgraded to an iPhone 11 and IOS 13. Lots of apparently similar complaints. I hope this new beta fixes that, I miss CarPlay....
Thank you for confirming I'm not crazy. For what it's worth, things have been better for me since I switched to a different USB port (maybe with better power output?).

I was fully expecting them to release a 13.2.1 to fix this issue ASAP. This is not something that should be left as is for weeks.

I just tested it again. I opened up five apps this time and Safari with 4 tabs. Left them in switcher and came back after a few minutes and no reloads. I also tested it on my phone as well and same result.

I just can’t see them letting this ride much longer. It affects all devices... they just can’t! Or will they!?! Hopefully tomorrow we get 13.2.1.
