Mine still says Preparing for Shipment but if I go through the site again it says I'm still eligible for an upgrade - Should I be concerned? I mean it is still showing a Oct 14th Delivery Date so maybe I'm just being paranoid and it shows that you have an upgrade until it prepares for shipment?

I think it's really pathetic that the phone orders made early on 10/7 didn't make the cut. Orders are orders.

Not only that, but the apparent lack of information that the Cust Reps had is mind blowing. Biggest release of the year and they're scrambling.

They can't just wave a magical Apple wand and create more iPhones. They only have so much stock, and they have to control it. Sorry you didn't get your order in on time, but don't blame Apple. You'll get your phone in a week or two.

How did they not make the cut? Just because your order says processing does not mean that you are not going to get the October 14th Delivery Date - they all will ship at the same time regardless of when its processed

If your delivery Date hasn't changed and it still says Delivery by October 14th on Apple there should be no concern you will still be getting it on that date...

Is it through Verizon? A Verizon rep just told me that the upgrade eligibility will not reset until the phone is shipped/received since it is a preorder.

Yeah I was only a bit paranoid because my phone still says Processing and I ordered it at 9pm last night...But it still says Delivery by Oct 14th so I'm assuming the first batch is the first batch regardless of when you ordered it as long as it doesn't say 1-2 weeks

I'm hoping for the same. Mine is still processing, ordered 7am mountain time. My delivery date is still Oct 14 though.

Hopefully there will be a change sometime tonight. It would be a pleasant surprise to wake up to.

I ordered @ 10AM (EST) yesterday and I am still processing as well.

Black 64gb, Verizon.

I am assuming by Monday, All of us that got in the first batch (sprint and I ordered around 2:15 am) will have tracking numbers or they will say Prepared for shipment regardless of size or color

You are probably right. At least we get the chance to play around with iOS 5 before our phones arrive. I'm kind of excited for the update. I've been chomping at the bit for multitouch gestures on my iPad 2.

Well that certainly will be fun, tracking my phone across the globe for the week. :D

I ordered mine from the Apple Online Store around 3:45 AM EST and got the comfirmation email almost right away. My upgrade eligibility has been updated, but it still shows it as "Processing" on the Apple Store. It's a White 32GB.

Mine still says processing items: iPhone 64gig white along with applecare +

Many of you say they are shipping from china, I don't think so. They will be coming from California. There is no way they can get the iPhone shipped to you from china in less than 7 days using standard shipping. China already sent them to California for Apple to ship to the states.

They came from China last year and were delivered 2 days after they shipped, they aren't sent standard.

Wrong, Apple overnights them from China via FexEx air which stops in Alaska. It is mind boggling how they pull it off so quickly, but they do!

I ordered mine seconds after the apple store went live. Last night I got an email asking if I wanted to add AppleCare+ since it wasn't offer through the iPhone app. I replied and now I'm still Processing but AppleCare+ has been added to my order.

Not that worried though since It says it will be here on the 14th.

Agreed, they aren't using standard shipping. They are using big boy, professional, "I'm Apple, you're UPS or FedEx, lets put some money on the table, grab a crapload of empty planes, get 'em to China, fill 'em with iPhones, and get to a giant shipping facility on the West Coast with super priority" shipping.

One of Tim Cook's hallmarks was streamlining shipping--that's why there are stories of iPads arriving at people's doorsteps with glitchy screens that fixed themselves after a few days. The reason? The glue wasn't dry (yet) because they hopped on that FedEx plane shortly after being born.

Having watched my wife's MacBook Air enter the shipping pipeline last December 19th in China then get to New Jersey in a few days... I assure you, they're shipping from China.

A story that I want to share with all of you, which might help to put some minds at ease.

This happened when I ordered my 3GS two years ago.

I ordered it the first day possible (which guaranteed delivery on the first day possible) and was eagerly following a thread just like this one, here on MacRumors--people posting screenshots and discussing shipment status updates.

It seemed that nearly everybody had their phones ship. Almost everybody had tracking numbers and had been following their phones from China to Alaska and into the US. Some real fans had even found out what planes Apple was using to ship and were able to track the exact flights that their phones were on.

My order said "processing" for 6 days. I was concerned, to say the least. I became very concerned on night before the iPhones were due for delivery. I was sure I wasnt getting my phone. Most on MacRumors had tracked their phones to their local FedEx shipment center by this point. My order? Still "processing".

I got up in the middle of the night, 2am NY time, to check the status and it had changed to "preparing to ship". Around 3am it said "shipped". To my amazement it wasn't coming from China. It was coming from Tennessee.

At 5:30am it was in NY. At 6:30 it was at the FedEx facility. At 8 the status changed to "out for delivery". I received the phone at 10 am that morning.

So, don't worry about the shipments. They don't all come from China. Obviously Apple has many shipments already stateside. That would make sense. You will get your phone. I got mine in hand before many of those fellow MacRumors peeps hat had been following their tracking numbers for days.
