Biden and common sense don’t go together. No matter where you stand (I’m in the middle politically) but you have to acknowledge Biden is demented and mentally not there. He doesn’t make any decisions let alone complete any thoughts or sentences with clarity.

You realise, don't you, that this is totally irrelevant in the U.S.

In America, politics is like tribal warfare or sport -- For many people, the only thing that matters is that their team wins.

If you speak to a person whose paradigm in life is feeling great when their team wins, then nothing you can say to such a person will be given the slightest attention if it contains anything that could result in their team not winning.

I'm a bit indifferent towards Joe Biden. I think he's a good man, but personally I think he's a bit old, and maybe out of touch with what America really needs right now, but I'm both happy and relieved that the White House is no longer occupied by a toddler who cares only for himself, who sits around watching TV all day, screaming about the smell of sh*t following him everywhere he goes, and blaming everyone else for it. Maybe Trump, and all of you who support him, should take a look under your own shoe.
Don’t know who is ultimately going to be worse for the country…an out of touch Robin Hood or a toddler who cares only for himself. Only time will tell.

Meanwhile Democrats make up lies and the media presents it as evidence and people somehow believe it despite being shown the “evidence” to be lies a few months later… over and over and over again.
That is the Republican way of life. Alternative facts. Republicans don't care about truth. Their "truth" is based on feelings. If they like the sound of it...it's true. No proof needed. Don't like the sound of it?...fake news. Ignore reality.

What most people don't understand is that every company is collecting data. It doesn't matter if it's one based in China, the US, Russia, Spain, Australia, etc.

So why pick one out ban it? Because someones feelings were hurt and that person has to point a finger somewhere? Makes no sense. If you ban one, then ban them all.

I'd also advise people to actually look at what data is collected. Do I really care if some company in China, US, Australia, etc. knows what iPhone and iOS version I'm using? Hint, nope, I don't. And please stop with the conspiracy theories that they have all the personal data about me. People making such claims don't even know how to check what data is collected in the first place, because they lack the technical background.

I find it odd that so many complain about TikTok (any maybe Facebook/Google) and yet it's absolutely ok for some reason that the NSA is trying to force Cisco into installing potential weakspots/backdoors in their equipment so they can spy on the whole world. Where's the "ban the NSA!" in that case? Not that government agencies of other countries are not trying the same. Thinking China is the only evil here, is very naive.

To be fair and objective, one would have to acknowledge that both sides say this about the other side.

So, to be specific, can you name for us what you think is the NUMBER ONE truth that Republicans refuse to acknowledge, and what is the proof that convinces you of that? And given that that would be your number one issue for you, can you give examples of how Republicans see that differently to you -- and have you consented to review the reasons that they give for taking their stance against yours?

I'm just wanting to check if you are biased or impartial.

I would agree with you, but you can't deny that when one side is like qanon, where significant numbers of Americans actually believe that Democrats drink baby blood and run pedophile rings out of pizza parlors, something is seriously wrong with that side that goes beyond simple tribalism.

Go to the verge and read the article where TikTok just (literally 5 or 6 days ago) put in their TOS that they can collect biometric data on US users. That includes "Faceprints and voiceprints".
If that doesn't ring a bell then it's time to hire a layer and sue your education system for not teaching you basic common sense.

that goods!
hopefullys the gasline will be the secure and the correct price, now that we has the educated!

now to go for a bike ride!

Given me a percentage figure of what you think is the percentage of Republicans who believe that. Your answer will indicate how you see Republicans. So give it to me in concrete percentage figures.

In times of national security (and this is as close as it gets without firing shots) the government has to step in and save the people from themselves.
The stuff that this data can provide/reveal is a terrorists wet dream.

While I wouldn't want high gub'mint officials using it, what security risk is there from Joe Sixpack and Jill Selfie going to cause?

A poll (I think Quinnipac) showed 22 percent. qanon in general has 40 percent support. 75 percent still think Trump is the rightful president.

How about reading what they actually collect instead of falling for some media hype created by uneducated journalists. Asked to much to read, isn't it? I'll quote from their privacy policy:

We may collect information about the images and audio that are a part of your User Content, such as identifying the objects and scenery that appear, the existence and location within an image of face and body features and attributes, the nature of the audio, and the text of the words spoken in your User Content. We may collect this information to enable special video effects, for content moderation, for demographic classification, for content and ad recommendations, and for other non-personally-identifying operations. We may collect biometric identifiers and biometric information as defined under US laws, such as faceprints and voiceprints, from your User Content. Where required by law, we will seek any required permissions from you prior to any such collection.
I've marked the relevant parts. It's shocking to see people rant without even understanding what they rant about. The important part is
  • you have to agree to this
  • it's based on your user content
Here's a total shock for you. When you post your passwords, credit card information, a photo of your face or fingerprint on Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, etc. Then people can see and access it and those services are storing your data because you decided to post it as your user content. Shocking, isn't it? Shhh, don't tell anyone, but MacRumors is actually storing your posts on a server as well. Uh oh, we're all doomed.

Example 1:
VoCo from adobe + TikToks own database of facial expressions of a given person.
You don't even need to have a account. Few "tourists" sit near person of interest playing with an harmless app.
In right circumstances they can synthesize the voice and facial image to impersonate. Exchange tourists with kids. With enough time and "do this with your parents" challenge you got what you need.

Example 2: All data recorded including house layout, room size, stuff inside. Takes minutes to create a digital representation of place of interest.

Example 3: Voluntary giving away your biometrics as a user. They can do everything they want. Literally. They know your geolocation, facial expressions, most likely have clear retina images, know your friends, what you wear, how you speak. Let's even assume the company itself has no malicious content BUT gets hacked. Now somebody has it all.

A very simple example of how people get scammed are those tiny facebook/instagram "quizzes".
1. 2nd and 5th letter of your name means this.
2. 1st and last number of your birthday means that.
3. repeat with consecutive quizzes and you get peoples data about whole family which then uses probability to create bots that break passwords among other things.

Seems excessive? Start reading and revise. This ain't no literature lol. It's reality.

There's caution and then there's paranoia.

Fallacy.
all you need is 1 person to accept and your point is moot.
Not to mention your "educated" opinion is based on belief that they told you EVERYTHING they do with it. Good luck, I got a beachfront in Nebraska to sell you.

In an era of information warfare, I think, to survive, one has to talk about substance, and not get distracted by buzzwords.

You see, throughout history, the powerful lead the masses by meaningless buzzwords. So, you and me, let's chat about this without using buzzwords. Let's talk substance.

Why do you think 75% of Republicans think Trump is the rightful President?

Don't heed the ones who you describe as -- to use your words "Democrats drink baby blood and run pedophile rings out of pizza parlors." Think about the Republicans who have the same sense of logic and intelligence as yourself. Those Republicans, why do 75% of them think Trump is the rightful President?

And once you've distilled their reasons, the second question is: what percentage of the Courts considered those issues? Give a percentage, and then go research to check if your perception matches actual data.

The vital thing is to avoid buzzwords like -- "Democrats drink baby blood and run pedophile rings". This is how, throughout history, the simple people get moved around by the powerful. So when dialoguing on contentious topics, use plain language, and that will help you make sense of the madness in society.

The minute our language is filled with buzzwords, rather than plain language, then the powerful can feed buzzwords to the masses, and they speak only in terms of buzzwords.

There's caution and then there's paranoia.

Sure it is.
The funny part though is that after **** hits the fan (in any preventable scenario) people act shocked.
Confusing awareness and common sense (especially with all the bells ringing loud) with paranoia is actual trait of ignorance.

That is complete and utter nonsense. He isn't any less congnitive than any other healthy 78 year old man is. They forget words sometimes. My mother has dementia, so I know what it looks like up close. And it's an insult when that terrible disease is used as a punchline to make a political point.

Meanwhile, we had a guy only 4 years younger who thought we could nuke hurricanes, the Revolutionary era had airports, windmills cause cancer and that medical knowledge was hereditary. Yet no one was talking about dementia then? Or maybe Trump is just monumentally stupid.

No, it's paranoa and it isn't healthy.
