I can see them making the iMac RAM replaceable by Apple, just like the iMac Pro.100% soldered ram for both
My suspicion is the 2019 iMac will be the last one with user upgradeable RAM.

Selling like hotcakes is iPad and mobile Macs. There’s not a single configuration of any non-mobile Mac that would sell better than any of the mobile solutions. Ever. They would sell like hotcakes!
And, I really don’t understand why so many people don’t want Apple to provide a choice for folks that don’t want/need SSD. Either way, T2 may mean that SSD is required, so there will probably be just an increase in price.I wanted 1TB of storage, and I was in no way able to pay for a 1TB SSD at Apple's prices.
Aren’t they for heat dissipation?useless (the pro display) holes, this
Folks that grew up in the world where Apple was trying to find it’s design language are used to wild swings in design direction. Now that Apple has solutions across the board that well fit the purpose, there are far fewer random departures.Or do you want change for change's sake?
The rumour about apple manufacturing it's own CPU has some biased interpretatios.I see what you're talking about but Apple won't be going to the AMD CPU. They will be making their own SoC.
Yes but, don't seems you a bit exaggerated cooling? Wfst that exaggeration does is to introduce you inside Mac new design language, as you see an bold "pro display HDR"-like iMac More attractive than update first the iMac with the holes design and later launch the pro display HDR which looks like the new iMac cheese grater.Aren’t they for heat dissipation?
SSD only storage is a must for me. I've been waiting for years to update my iMac but I refuse to pay apples price for 1 TB SSD. I can buy a 1TB M2 ssd for around $100 so apple is paying much less, so this should be standard. Even the next generation of gaming consoles are going full SSD, so if apple doesn't finally ditch the spindle drive it's a failure once again.
No, it doesn’t look exaggerated. The holes are functional... the design has more air than metal for the volume, is still structurally sound and dissipates heat very well as a result.Yes but, don't seems you a but exaggerated?
The point is the pro display HDR actually doesn't need that much cooling to need thus cheese grater design, btw it's an excellent way to introduce a new design language which solves an old persistent Mac issue: heat. No, it doesn’t look exaggerated. Please bring back the desk lamp form factor. Easy swiveling is a must in my office and they could make the 2020 version even better.
A dual-GPU in an all-in-one. Not happening. Apple cancelled the trashcan Mac Pro because they backed themselves into a thermal corner and that Mac had a dual GPU. What makes you think a dual-GPU will happen in an AIO?
I 'm not a leaker neither an mentalist or a guru, but reading carefully all the leaks, its moreless safe bet the following Mac Products in March/april release:
All AMD APUs manufactured by Apple (with AMD license) maybe Re-branded as Apple M1/M2 APUs or whatever marketing decides sound Apple and not Intel/AMD.
- MBP 14.1 with new-old non butterfly keyboard and latest Intel CPUs, same CPU updates for MBP16 (this is the safecst bet).
- All AMD (no arm beyond T2/T3 chip) Mac Mini, Using AMD semi-custom Renoir Mobile APU (8c Navi11/12), likely no exterior changes.
- All AMD iMac 21, same AMD Renoir Mobile APU as Mac mini
- All AMD iMac 27, AMD semi-custom Renoir Desktop 8-16 cores with beefier NAVI21/23 GPU.
Also is safe to predict the New iMac to look a lot like the new Pro Display HDR, since its full of useless (the pro display) holes, this is a way to justify those (actually needed) holes in the iMac, those holes enable enough cooling airflow to enable TDP rise and no Throtling, both mandatory in case Apple is planning a Gaming iMac.
The rumour about apple manufacturing it's own CPU has some biased interpretatios.
1st, neither Kuo nor Bloomberg specifically mentioned Apple to adopt ARM for those CPU.
2nd, all the bloggers speculating about ARM Mac seems ignore AMD not just develop semi-custom CPU, but ALSO license it's manufacturing, even both AMD Zen CPUs and Apple Axx SOC are manufactured at TSMC wit the same 7nm process, so in case of AMD shortness apple could bring to AMD their contracted waffers for Mac CPUs.
License Zen it's simpler and much cheaper than a painful macOS rebuild for ARM, and safer (an Apple sales offer) as no need to debug hundred of million if code lines, neither need to wait for compatible software or chopped VM .
Don't hold your breath waiting for an all arm Mac.

Just marketing .

While the iMac is overdue for a new design, the Mac mini simply needs an upgraded GPU.
The current betas of macOS Catalina have code showing support for AMD CPU's, not just GPU's.Apple has every intentions to switch to their own CPU/GPU designs for Macs, there is no reason to switch to AMD if they're close to using their own SoC designs, they're not likely to optimize for both ARM and AMD together in such a short timeframe but it is possible they may do AMD for a short period of time to avoid Intel's shortage and/or CPU issues.
The iMac sorely needs a design refresh. One side bezel is thicker than the entire bezel around a 16” MBP.
Kuo did: https://www.macrumors.com/2020/02/24/mac-apple-designed-processor-2021/
We expect that Apple's new products in 12-18 months will adopt processors made by 5nm process, including the new 2H20 5G iPhone, new 2H20 iPad equipped with mini LED, and new 1H21 Mac equipped with the own-design processor. We think that iPhone 5G support, iPad's adoption of innovative mid-size panel technology, and Mac's first adoption of the own-design processor are all Apple's critical product and technology strategies
Even Intel has told some investors that they expect Apple to switch away from Intel CPUs in the near future: https://www.tomshardware.com/news/apple-mac-arm-cpus-2020-intel,38668.html
Intel officials and developers have reportedly told Axios that Apple is preparing to launch Arm-based Macbooks next year. The report follows a story from Bloomberg Wednesday saying that Apple plans on combining iOS and macOS applications by 2021.
Apple does not need to debug every code, iOS and macOS shares most of the same kernel, subsystems and so on. iOS is a fork of macOS that's optimized for ARM, they're not two separate OS, they're all the same core with separate UI on top (Cocoa vs. Cocoa Touch). They only need to optimize the UI on top of macOS for ARM and they're already doing that along with testing it with Mac Catalyst. Even Microsoft is doing an ARM version of Windows that Apple can provide support for Bootcamp with.
Apple has every intentions to switch to their own CPU/GPU designs for Macs, there is no reason to switch to AMD if they're close to using their own SoC designs, they're not likely to optimize for both ARM and AMD together in such a short timeframe but it is possible they may do AMD for a short period of time to avoid Intel's shortage and/or CPU issues.
Wow it would be so great if Apple went back to a more frequent refresh model -
The point is the pro display HDR actually doesn't need that much cooling
Yeah, in addition, this monitor is 1000 nits normal and can peak to 1600 nits. You don’t get that bright without generating a good amount of heat. You'd be surprised at how hot monitors get.
