jjahshik32- i have no clue what is going on with paypal, they have been stonewalling me for over a month. I am actually planning on legal action as soon as i get out of school. Waiting for this money has caused me so much time, effort, and money that I am going to seek legal action, at least to get the money if not more. What happened was that for some reason they unverified my account(without warning), then they refused to verify me over 4 different occasions, even with official documentation. Doesnt sound kosher to me at least, so im really gonna go for the throat.

Just to ponder, what generation mac pro did you sell?

Buy or upgrade based on your REQUIREMENTS

I applaud Apple for incremental releases that add better processors and speed, heat, FSB, video, trackpad enhancements. At this point, none of those have compelled me to buy a replacement for my current MBP. When the cumulative feature set or redesign or 1 special enhancement comes along that tips the scale, I'll go in and buy the new one. I use my computer all day every day to run a company and present, and my current 1 1/2 year old MBP supports me just fine. I'd love a port replicator, and I have employees who bought later versions that can show me their applications starting faster, but nothing that falls into the REQUIREMENT category yet. Are there really people who want the latest enough to lose the time and money required to upgrade in such small increments? If so, I doubt it is because Apple planned the upgrades in a pattern to ensnare them by marketed releases.

well...

Hello, I'm new at macforums :]
I need some help :u
I own an HP and I would like to sell it to buy a Mac.. but I dont know what to do

right now I could sell this laptop and buy a Macbook ( the one of 2g RAM, super drive thing and stuff, I dont know if u know which one I'm refering to ), but, I dont know if I should wait for the WWDC, this way I will know if Apple will launch new macbooks or w/e

any suggestions?

and sry for my english, but I'm not a 100% english speaker, hope you understood me

I really hope there isn't an update. I bought the latest MBP already.

So.... you have a MacBook Pro, now. What does it matter what comes out in the future? You'd have waited if you truly cared.

(Having said that... I might just crumble and purchase the new MBP myself :p WWDC occurs within the return policy's 2 week window, so if they choose to update there, I'm covered. Longer than that, though... and I think I'd have no qualms about keeping it)

I would say wait. With intel pushing its latest more and more, there is a high chance of at least a MBP update if not a macbook update as well. I expect the macbook will go aluminum this summer so I'd wait. May not get much more out of it, but if you can you'll be better off. God Bless with your decision and either way you'll enjoy your new mac!

The MacBook went aluminium since January, and lost its optical drive and user upgradeable parts. ;)

well I get your drift, but still..no. The Macbook will go aluminum. I could bet money on it. As of now, its the only Apple computer that's not aluminum. It makes sense that they'll bring it in line.

No one know for sure when, but if they come out at WWDC the second week in June then you'll probably be able to have one towards the end of July/early August.

You'll get a slightly higher bus speed and possibly(no one knows) blu-ray, better graphics, etc. But really, I want to wait in hope of a redesign, which it is currently WAY overdue for!

I think its worth waiting if you can. But if you badly need a new computer now for reasons such as your current one isn't working, etc. then the current model will most likely have close to the same performance as the next and will probably do just fine!

I am purchasing a mbp on June 12, whether or not there are any updates. I wanna try it out and don't really care about the waiting game.

Well I dont really need a new computer right now, my PC works fine ( its almost 1 year old ), but I'm not a patient person >_<
damn, I dont know what to do

Personally I'd wait if you're already waiting that long. Intel's newest speed bump launches in June, so new systems should be out somewhere in June through August.

Ya I'm not patient either! But I think you'll be happy if you wait! God Bless on your decision!

You think that's really significant? For a green reason, or...? Seems to be a good way of keeping the product lines distinct to me. They're so similar already - just screen (gpu/finish) and a few different ports separating them now...

That's a good point, but I don't know. With even the iMac going aluminum, a all-aluminum product line seems inevitable. I guess we'll see this summer won't we!:)

Doubt you'll see a new case

Look at the MB Air, same case style as the MBP.

That said, a new keyboard, bigger (possibly much bigger) trackpad. I am wondering when they'll make the entire keyboard rest a trackpad.

What I want to see is a row of LCD keys (think Optimus).

Anyway, don't wait, that's a suckers game. The 2 months you spend with your mac will be worth it.

haha apple causes so much trouble with all this secrecy... if only someone here worked high up and could tell us haha. I wonder if apple loses many sales to other companies because of things like this... people that grow tired of waiting for a product refresh and never know when it's coming. Probably not though haha because I'm waiting!

not that im bothered by it or anything, but how come people are talking about a macbook aluminum redesign if the title mentions only the mbp?

Actually there are some distinct differences to the Macbook Air case and the Macbook pro case. While each are of aluminum, there general shape, screen opening mechanism, power cord, keyboard, edging, etc. are different. I'm not saying we'll necessarily see a huge change, but I think they'll get rid of the plastic edging, make a larger track pad, etc.

amen to that. :p

How will things turn out?

The time is nearing us to tell the truth.

But it looks like new Macbook Pro will find its way into the market

at least one month after the now-nearly-authorized-fact 3G iPhone

to be introducted at WWDC, since the release of two major products

on the same day will cancel out the aura of either of them. To avoid

the situation where the MacBook Pro get less spotlight than iPhone, Apple

may take time. It's really adrenaline-pumping to wait for the new fruit

from Apple orchard.
