I trust mine is not overly challenging ... two syllables, each four letters, split so beautifully right in the center.
For all we know, it could be three syllables. How many of your "e"s are silent?

Odd... so the last part is pronounced "dal-eh"? ;)

The expertise one finds here on MR is dazzling. I see that I am going to have to summon Doctor Q and make a case for changing the name to "D." No way, Doctor!

None ... but for those who want it to be three (even five) syllables, have a blast. :)

Well the Welsh might possibly pronounce it as "Deep-day-al" :p

Hopefully, by the time I finish showering, there will be some key feedback on how they might pronounce it in Brazil, Finland and Australia. I never imagined such fun was possible at this early hour by me.

You-kay-en-jay-bee.

My country of origin and initials.

I so wish I had thought about a more sensible user name when I registered. Didn't know I would get hooked on MR so much.

It's completely unpronounceable in Tierra del Fuego.

Similar, I suppose, to how they'd pronounce it down south here in the States, except I guess it'd be more like "dape day-al".

It's possible to change your username. It's not encouraged (among other things, all references to your current name in quoted text, other posts, etc., will remain), but there have been exceptions. Write to Q if you feel strongly about it.

Thank you for the helpful info .... Now there's something else to worry about today. Do I feel strongly about it?

That's what I figured ... it is impossible to please the masses in every locale. On that sad note, I now have a 10-hour day of straining my brain ahead of me.

Heh, you and a good sized chunk of the rest of the population. As I mentioned before, its 4/5ths of it is my last name, specifically the last four letters and people are always saying it like that. It annoys me to no end.

Yeah ... now I'm trying to figure out the whole last name, and I don't even like crossword puzzles. :p

I'm also trying to figure out where those steps are leading to in your avatar. :D

Gee, and I thought we were the same in that our names were simple.

Just goes to show ya never know! ;)

Mine's easy, I think, although people elsewhere are always getting it wrong. For reference, it's three words: to be first. Not tobe (toh-bee) or any other combination, but feel free to call me whatever you want. :)

Also, I've always pronounced scem0 as scheme-oh, and devilot as de-violet, even though I knew that was wrong. njmac has always been ninja-mac, just like others have said. Mitth...blahblahblah is what it's always been to me. :)

Ours are easy, but for a period of time this morning I was even questioning the spelling of my first name.
