Seriously though, black bezels would look terrible on purple or yellow machines. Apple did the right thing with the iMac and will surely do the same with this new line of consumer-oriented laptops. But I bet we'll always have space gray + black bezels on the "Pro" machines, so you don't have to worry.
black bezels would look terrible on all the coloured laptops. 100% guaranteed they will go white bezel.

I do enjoy these colours on the consumer level computers, and have been waiting for the new air to launch [no way was I buying the old chassis with the new chip as I knew Apple could build far better new hardware designed around the M’s [just like the new imac has proven].

Good to have some fun again, and tbh this rumour was a pretty obvious one after the imac.

Should be a fantastic year for apple if they release these, and some decent pro machines this year [which I am hanging out for……]

New colors and an upgraded trip will be great for a new MBA. It also would be great if Apple is able to leverage the families design to make a lighter weight unit -– something like the 12” MacBook.

This is exactly what I am expecting.

I do wonder whether it is just going to be :

Macbook [lose the air] - super light 13” in colours
Macbook pro - similar to current pros [with redesign]

I don't mind all the colors. Good for those who like them. But is it too much to also have the option for a simple black machine? I don't want a colorful computer chassis. For me, the only color should come from the display. The rest can be gray or black.
Black models aren't happening. Apple currently makes a Space Grey or Silver model with black borders in an M1 MacBook Air. Not sure what you're going on about.

Unfortunately the way apple works is you get what your’e given.

Sometimes I am pissed other times super happy.

I am loving the direction they are heading in.

That's the thing. I would like to see a real black MacBook. Not another shade of gray. Black. Matte Black. They have a lot of colors. But no black which is the go-to color for most people on computers.

Let’s see what the pro machines look like first.

Also the macs are clearly identifiable when out and about - a Matt black may lose that which they wont like [plus finger prints are always an issue]

Gold = rose gold, rose gold = pink

And, while were at it, red, often = salmon. I literally can’t tell the color difference between a red iPhone 12 and pink AirPods Max, for example. Apple has a long history of misnamed colors.
As a big fan of red products, Apple's understanding of the word "red" leaves much to be desired.

That's probably the difference. I don't need a machine that stands out from looks, but from what it can do and how it works. A computer is a tool, not a fashion piece that must match your shoes or purse.

Most people who buy ThinkPads, anyway. Most laptops these days are silver. Silver is the new beige.

Guess you weren't around when Apple had the matte black MacBook. Pretty when taken out of the box, horrible looking after just one month. Fingerprint magnet due to the matte black. Also don't take offense to this but you should educate yourself about anodizing metals. There's a reason why you don't see Apple with a hard anodized black MacBook. That color is very difficult to produce when anodizing metals. That's why they made the iMac Pro in a very dark space grey because attempting to produce black wouldn't turn out well. Black and white products tend to be done in plastic for this reason.

Ooh, does that mean - goin' all retro and fruit-colored - we'll get the opportunity to buy a 'toilet seat' M1 with only one port and tons of extraneous plastic? And the ability to buy a 'hockey puck' Magic Mouse while we're at it?

Looks like more of a 'Squirrel!' moment for the Macoyltes - I guess nothing of substance coming down the pipe.
Much like the extensive ad campaign for the purple iPhone 12...

whoever made the mockup for this article missed the obvious... the interior color will be the muted pastel of the front of the new iMacs and the clamshell sides of the Macbook Air visible from the outside will be the bold color. this image is horrible because the bold color around the screen and keys is way to much.

I doubt they will do two tone given the architecture of Macbooks. The top is all one piece, so is the upper of the keyboard. I don't think they can do a half and half dye of that or that it would look good. they would dye the whole piece. I think the two tone look is more of something they are looking at in terms of the consumer family as a whole. Imagine a bold laptop with a pale ipad.

Can we stop with this clown Prosser? With the exception of one or two (Miani, Tailosive, even though he repeats himself over and over) I am SO sick of these youtube clowns.
Jon Prosser is hilarious. He has ascended! He delivers you not the news of today, but the news of tomorrow!

That being said, bring on the colors! Just please, the option of white or black bezels, if for nothing else, to cut down on the number of youtube clowns who will no doubt complain about that.
White bezels only and foureva! I want to hear the wails of "STEVE JOBS would *never* have released a white bezel mac computer!" and "Apple is Do0O0o0O0o0O0o0O0o0O0o0O0omed!1!!!!1!!2!"

My M1 MBA is an amazing device.
Miani is the only Apple focused YTer I can stand these days. I used to watch Rene Ritchie, but since he started his own channel he has increased his output without increasing his content, so everything is watered down and stretched to make it fit the mold of an independent YTer he has in his head. I wish Rene would calm down and run his channel the way he did Vector.

Well yeah, we can all play the "this thing may or may not happen" game like Prosser and Kuo

For example, the 2021 iPhones may or may not have a smaller notch. Quote me, I'm a leaker/analyst.
Make a Twitter & post it to make it official. Don’t forget to add that your source is cryptic in case you’re wrong.

This WILL happen, with white bezels. 🤮 How many times have Apple made things that are "ugly" in some way, because they are a product differentiator? AirPods are a perfect example. That is how they will highlight the difference between the new generation of Apple Silicon, and the old, Intel stuff. But "Pro" stuff will stick with black bezels. So while we're at it, Apple, could we get a matte black MacBook Pro? 😬

My guess is 99% of the public, including myself, isn't up on the technicalities of anodizing metals nor would we have any reason to be 😂 How about just say, "I know most people wouldn't have a reason to know this, but . . ." (comes across as less condescending, regardless of the "no offense" preface, which is normally said before something offensive to one degree or another 😉)
