Agreed, though to some people, they defend this behavior so much it's crazy. Quite irritating to hear them say, well if you can afford this or that. The don't realize that the paycheck has not caught up and probably won't, add $2 per subscription, if one has several, this could be a hefty cost. Being comfortable is great but we can't just side with companies on price increases. They're no interested in our economic wellbeing but rather in making more money. If we just pay, they will feel they can do it anytime.
Not that THAT wasn't to be unexpected, but, in a few years, things will go up enough to be nontrivial. The "frog in a pot" saying. However, prices are not too shabby (for now, for the other services I buy into), but I will have to deal with that when that day comes. For streaming services in particular, if they can keep offering deals, that does go a long way! (e.g. 40% off annual sub of HBO Max :) )

You're acting like Apple is your landlord or something and that you're having to scramble to not lose your home because they raised your rent. These are luxury services we're talking about here, ok? If you can't afford them, then you can't afford them. You'll live. Drop the service(s) and then perhaps in the future when things are more stable then you can add them back. Such is life. We can't have everything we want all the time.

I'd love to have a maxed out Mac Studio and Pro Display XDR, but I can't afford them right now. Should I be saying "shame on Apple" for them not lowering the costs of these products to meet my budget? Come on.

I still say they should have tried to keep Apple One pricing the same at first to see if upping the prices elsewhere funneled more people towards Apple One
I just wanted it to last a few more years before starting the endless cycle of price increases. 🙁

There are some posts stating that they feel better knowing the $$ is going towards Apple's employees. This indeed is hardly just Apple, so we'd apply the same thing to other companies... that their employees will hopefully be seeing nontrivial raises and bonuses. I don't blame companies for charging more to account for higher of everything else (rent, gas, cost of materials, etc.), but in the vein of "vote with your wallet", whether or not employees get that extra money makes a difference to me. It's one major reason I still stick with Costco over Amazon Prime. Even though I'd get more use out of the latter, the former company treats their employees better (it also helps that that sub is far cheaper).

You'll be happy to know Apple does indeed give their employees raises and bonuses.

I hear you and I look at that.
I order a lot and when I add up the cost savings in shipping, the ease of returns, and the ease of handling damaged/lost items, it pays for itself with room to spare. Then I add in Prime Video, Prime Music, Prime only discounts, Whole Foods discounts, food delivery, try it before I buy it, first reads, and other items.

Problem with the digital side of Prime, Amazon segmented off certain portions of it. You get a “selection” of music, whereas the rest of Prime Music is locked behind another monthly fee. I attempted to ditch Apple Music in 2016 for it, but they started putting certain music into another per monthly fee paywall. Same with parts of Prime Video, they announced they were competing for anime viewership and put it behind a “per channel” pay wall service.

In reality, the $139 per year just covers shipping for me. Their music service is so buggy, even songs I received on a AutoRip are locked behind their Prime Music service. This is why I kept Apple Music, especially when iTunes Match merged with it.

It would require significant effort to come close to matching what I get from Prime based on usage just for shipping never mind the other perks. $139US is a deal for me. It is likely different for others.

To each their own. They jacked up the price another $20 for the year and didn’t add anything either. Citing rising costs, but none of it going to their workers. Prime is one of the services I’m considering cutting for Sam’s Club. I order my music through other web sites, such as Laser’s Edge, Burning Shed, Deep Discount and ImportCDs.com, even with their shipping rates (or free), it winds up beating Amazon. AutoRip was the big reason I kept doing it, then they started doing away with it.

Apple One, I’ll be keeping it. My parents, sister, uncle and girlfriend all use it. It has been worth it to me, plus this is the first increase I’ve had on it ever. Amazon Prime has increased three times over the last 4-5 years. I had it when it was $79.99 a year.

My oldest son still watches some shows but told me not worth keeping crunchyroll. My youngest is just 7 so no need to keep it. I'm saving close yo $90 a month on subscription that I can now use to go and have dinner with the whole family monthly. I'm putting it to good use. LOL.

I did the yearly with Funimation. My old rate was $54.99 per month, but Crunchyroll is $99 per year 🤮

Not everything has transferred over too.

However, I’ve canceled Showtime, NFL+ (waste) and STARZ. My Netflix subscription is through T-Mobile, so no point in canceling it.

Anyone know if the Apple Music student plan will be going up? Can’t seem to find any info one way or the other.

Not surprised as you see all streaming going up. The good ol’ days are gone when you could get a ton of content ad free for 7.99 a month. :) Now it feels like it is a ton of money + ads.

What streaming service has ads? Think the only ones I’ve seen is Amazon and Apple advertising other shows which I don’t actually mind as far as advertising goes.
I don’t think I’ve seen an actual product ad outside of live sport for a very long time.

I forgot to include in my post that I hope it can go towards the Foxconn employees (I doubt it though :( ) since they're the ones who actually make the dang phones and products.

I talked to an Apple Store employee who says they get 50% off, up to $1000 in purchases (or something like that? The exact figures escape me since it's been so long ago)

Foxconn probably has a contractual rate with Foxconn. Apple (imo) does not throw “extra” money at its contractors, just because.

Not surprised that apple employees get some comps.

Which Apple stopped doing. And still pays their retail employees well.

And so many employees easily accumulate far more than 10-15 minutes of non-productive "on-the-clock" time each day, so in reality it probably more than balanced out for the majority of those litigious employees.

There are several other ways to get music other than what’s offered with . Some people use Spotify and others use youtube but most of the time there is adds to deal with.

Cancelled my apple music , going with spotify duo for the wife and I. Save $48 a year ! Thats like almost 4 free months compared to Apple

will see how long before the others raise their prices too.
