PSA: If You Bought Vision Pro at Launch, Your Return Window Ends Friday

Totally agree, very entertaining. People thinking Apple doesn’t know exactly what AVP is, where they want to take it in the future, and how many people will return the product.
The “FUTURE”. That is the word that basically has become synonymous with AVP. It is an ignorant way of thinking because the “FUTURE” of competing companies (ASUS, Frame, XReal) products and their “FUTURE” capabilities wouldn’t improve is ignored. The products of these companies already are much more advanced than that of the AVP (Glasses form factor, TRUE AR, etc.) . Moreover, Meta Quest will become too, more advanced and will still have a more appealing price point for the average consumer. Do you genuinely believe several iterations of AVP down the line will be sub $800? NO WAY!

Could be wrong, but for any previous Apple product launch, I do not recall MacRumors publishing a news article to let people know that the 'Returns Window' was about to close?
That’s because the return rate of those products was so minimal that it wasn’t even “newsworthy” or of any significance. The fact that a popular search term on Google is “Apple Vision Pro Returns” speaks volumes.

I love mine. I will not be returning it. Allowing others to try in guest mode has sold more for Apple. I am guessing that many many more are being sold this way than are being returned. This is indeed the future of computing.
The “future” of computing? Name one app in which you can share an experience with another AVP wearer (besides FaceTime). Also, PLEASE do yourself a favor and have a look at the TRUE AR products produced TODAY by XReal, Frame, and ASUS. Now, is the “future” of computing goggles with fake eyes the “future” or are glasses in which you can view someone’s real eyes the “future”?

You should stop accusing people of hate. I haven’t seen anyone express hate towards it. Criticism of its shortfalls is not hate.
Criticism and Constructive Criticism are very different things. But for those you who just come back, thread after thread, to say the very same things, over and over, who click "like" on every single post that criticizes the AVP, whether that comment has merit or not? No, that's not just "criticism."

As I've said before, it seems pathological to spend so much energy "against" something. Go somewhere you want to help build, and use positive energy. We'd all be better off.

You’re over reacting and have been for weeks now. It seems to me that taking this stuff personally is not a good idea.

I'm not taking it personally. It's just like graffiti everywhere. It's distracting from productive conversations and diminishes the level of discourse on MacRumors. I'd hope for elevated discussions, including valid criticisms, but that's not what MacRumors has become.

Brings me to this news article from last year warning on the early launch for this very reason.

However, now that it is launched, they can beta test it and work out all the kinks and over time and few generations, be be able to produce a more reliable affordable product for the masses.

The boosters like you are just as obnoxious.
I see a fundamental difference between supporting a product that you want to see improved, compared those of you who have been on here for months to do nothing more than denigrate the product. It's a product. It's not a political discussion. I don't see support or hate as equivalent in terms of value to meaningful discussion.

Just "releasing something" doesn't mean...

"ahh..now the kinks can be worked out and suddenly a more reliable and affordable product for the masses can be made!"

"not releasing something" wasn't holding them back from making a better product

The technology isn't there for the dream product here
I don't how many times people need to hear this to actually internalize it.

Apple is not capable of creating technology that doesn't exist

Stopped by my local Apple Store today and there was a line. So there's some new product? The people all looked really anxious which was weird. Then I noticed people were going in with packages and leaving without them.

This is exactly what I’ve been talking about. Tim Cook doesn’t understand design. He has driven away all the creatives in the executive team and he doesn’t listen to the designers who remain. This is a serious problem for a DESIGN company.

Right. In the case of supporters it’s completely innocent. In the case of critics it’s pure hate.

You’re really not seeing the hypocrisy of that position?

Meanwhile, I love my AVP, think it's one of the best designed products I've ever owned, and have been able to be more productive using it for my work than I have been on my laptop.

...or do you think I should just listen to your repeatedly-made criticisms and ignore my own experiences?

Nobody who is just here to give valid criticism of a product spends months, days, hours to make the same criticisms over and over and over.

That's a whole different psychology.

Never said anything about price. I don’t think anyone expects Apple to compete on price. But I’d say you’re being ignorant if you think Apple isn’t thinking about the “future” of Apple Vision and the roadmap of where they want to take things.
