Unfortunately… mine is headed back as well. It’s great for casual usage, love watching movies and concerts in theatre mode but for just under $4,000 it should be more comfortable, images from pass through cameras should be crystal clear and there should be far more quality apps. IDK
Wish the AVP was $1000 less then it might be justifiable. The future of the Apple Vision Pro will be very interesting, excited to see its evolution. I packed my today and going to return tomorrow, actually feel a sense of relief 😮‍💨 😂

I think it could force Apple to make adjustments to their returns policy for such expensive hardware. Like a restocking fee etc
Nah. Apple didn't get to a $3 TRILLION dollar valuation by not planning for stuff like this. I'd wager (in part because the Apple business team told me as much) that Apple's counting on a higher-than-usual return rate on these, being such a new and unproven product category. And I'd wager those expectations are factored in to their budgeting plans.

I told my wife after she saw the demo… ultimately I’d use this thing solely to watch movies you didn’t want to watch with me on our big TV together. As well as taking 3D video of our daughters. I don’t expect to use it as my Mac’s desktop nor in a coffee shop. I have a LG 42” OLED that I love for that.

The price is just too damn high for that media consumption use-case novelty. I’d still be on my Mac 8 hours a day working… so 1-2 hours in the goggles every few nights for $3500+…. especially when we just paid the kid’s summer camp at $4000. Yeahhhh, I can’t swing that.

I think sub $2000… I’d have a lot less guilt about buying these for 6-10 hours of use per week.

One thing I did buy was a $269 3D camera which should be fun. Because when a future Vision Pro does come along, I’ll have some content.

Apple didn’t fail us. I enjoy the product and accept that it is a first gen product
Remember people say: Apple don’t always be the first, but they always come later and beat others.
And now people accept it “as a first gen product”.
You might not be people who said such things, but it’s funny nonetheless

I think the only use I see is a bachelor who is antisocial and prefers to watch movies on a headset alone. Quite an experience I might say though.
As soneone who isn’t really a fan of VR and has critisized AVP I think it has plenty of uses, just professional ones not really consumer ones. The mistake was Apple Trying to sell it as a “content consumer” to appeal to the mass for more sales.

Think about professional schools studying parts (i.e mechanic engineering), a doctor studying the human body visualizing the layers rather than a flat screen/book, an architect visualizing the render, a designer of vehicle pieces visualizing the parts designed over the bike to see if it fits… Using it to watch a movie is just silly and unconfortable, and pretty sure most bought it for the latter

These use cases are heavily explored by existing VR companies, especially 2B ones. The market is too small and not usually a segment Apple excels at. Apple just need to bring us an AR device that appeals to almost everyone like a phone or a watch

I've read the comments.
I haven't seen where somebody said they wanted Apple to fail.
Lots of people think the AVP will fail.
That doesn't necessarily mean they want it to fail.
Two completely different opinions.
Semantics. The fact that they are actively rooting against it is them wanting apple to fail. One has to also look at any thread regarding the eu, iMessage etc etc it’s ridiculous

a lot of mistakes were made. I am sure a lot of things people don't like about it would have been helped by not having the second, external, blurry eye display

I wish they have not advertised the pass through being crystal clear, everytime I put it on and see all the blurryness I instantly feel like this is not worth 4K. Also when I try to watch movies in a dark environment there is glare from the lenses so I end using a daytime environment late at night. I was forcing myself to use it every day but I haven’t since Monday. Maybe the next model. This would be the first apple product I ever returned. Surely I’ll update my M1 iPad to the M3.
