Product that none needed, ever. And a product that makes you look like idiot wearing it.
I used to upgrade it every year, I’m doing a lot better. Your right the M1 doesn’t feel slow but I do see a difference in the new iPhone 15 pro max with ray tracing vs the 14 pro max. It probably depends on which of the rumors turn out to be true. Why though? I’m still on my iPad Pro 2018 12.9. Nothing about it says “upgrade me I’m slow”.
I thought Apple was in on the iPad replacing Macs but nope.
IMO it’s set up for a consumption device
It uses iPad apps
Plays movies well
Crappy onscreen keyboard
Finding a killer app is very VERY difficult. Apple has been developing this headset for a very long time. I imagine there was tons of internal pressure to finish development and release something so, unfortunately, we got a half-baked product. Just like the original Apple Watch. So there are two scenarios here: Apple is able to find the killer app and unleash the true potential of Vision Pro in the next generations, or it never finds its, and Vision Pro is discontinued in the following years due to lack of interest. We'll see.It always strikes me as a bit strange when any of these companies release a piece of hardware with great tech, they have known for years that they will be releasing it and have spent so much on R&D that they do not have a killer app to really show it off.
I mean, it is not like they have not had the time or resources to get something mind-blowing ready for launch.
The same applies to the Quest 3, absolutely nothing to show it is that much different from the Quest 2.
It’s so sad seeing Apple wanting to fail on this so bad, I mean had they priced it at 1000 it would have been more expensive than meta but people would have expected that from Apple.
The thing is, it does the same thing of a quest (or even less as there a no joystick, even optionals for gaming) sure it has better screen but lower FOV, all it seems to do is mimic a computer but as the iPad showed, people who want a computer buy a computer.
It’s cool, it’s futuristic but not very practical.
For a lot less i bought a quest 3, it does what I expect it to do, entertain, it’s not a productive device and I don’t expect it to be as I would not wear it for more the 1 hour or one hour and a half.
The quest works also as PC VR which is a bonus.
All in all, even at the same price, except for the screen quality, the quest is more value for money (for now).
People said the same thing about smart watches originally, heck some people still say it. Yet, you see them everywhere now.product that makes you look like idiot wearing it.
See - I don't think there will. Smart watches had obvious benefits and use cases from day one and still do with more and more being found all the time. I'm not a luddite. I absolutely live and breathe tech. I just don't see these things ever becoming mainstream.People said the same thing about smart watches originally, heck some people still say it. Yet, you see them everywhere now.
I didn't buy a VP, but there will come a day when it'll be normal to wear it or similar ones.
But wrist watches in general have been around since the 1800’s and are socially acceptable from a design standpoint. Smartwatches just added to that core functionality.People said the same thing about smart watches originally, heck some people still say it. Yet, you see them everywhere now.
Tough comparison. AVP is brand new and still beta in its current state versus well established hardware with multiple generations of updates and improvements. What would suddenly make Apple change it? People don’t ever buy/return MacBook Pros and displays?
Hey, I like my AirPods...Product that none needed, ever. And a product that makes you look like idiot wearing it.
At least the author of the article didn’t refer to them as a “tech boi”.What exactly is a tech bro 🤔
Despite, there’s an overwhelming number of AVP articles still published on this site and many others hyping this beta turd. (I get it, driving clicks, but still…)I think people put off their frustration to Apple of not innovating anymore and think to themselves “they must be spending all resources on Vision Pro”.
That’s the only explanation why the forum has a lot of negative attitudes toward Apple after Vision Pro’s hype died and people found out the Vision Pro is just the nail in the coffin’s
Looking forward to the rest of the world launch, then we can have the same arguments all over again. Still think this product is probably the future as far as computers go for the vast majority of people.
You think MKBHD is bothered by 5k USD? I don't think so...MKBHD's will be something like "Why are people returning their Visions Pro? Let me explain..." he gotta milk his review unit as much as he can. No need for him to return anything.

What is “this”? If it’s the future of computing being wearing silly goggles on your face that make you look like a dork then yes I hope Apple and everyone else fails. It’s sad so many ppl want apple to fail at this.
