Eating brunch: Server - How'd you get one so soon? Do you like it?

On the train: Some dude - hey how do like the Apple Watch?

At the bar: 2 bartenders - is that the Apple Watch? How so you like it? Can i play with it?

My best friend - is that the iWatch?

My coworkers fiancee - love the color (GSB)

My boss - Do you like it? Can you make calla on it? How about connecting to BT in the car?

Etc. All this in only a week of wearing it.

Not really a public reaction, but once I was wearing my Apple Watch (which came today) my parents and sister were amazed. :p My dad thought it was very cool, my mother found it nice looking for a smartwatch. And my sister thought kind of the same of it. :)

On Facebook the first comment I got was "how expensive was that thing?" and "what does it?". Well, I said "€400" (I don't mind mentioning the price) and "it tells the time". xD Following a more serious explanation of the functionality of course. :p

People either are curious about it or ask me "Why?" lol

There's a deli right across the street from my job that has tap to pay and I as I went to pay with my watch the girl was like "Wait! I want to record this and put it on our Facebook page. You're the first person to pay by watch". lol

After 2 weeks, someone said something, only because I was at the Apple store the guy helping me said something.

Also, I saw the SS in person, glad I got the sport and also saw the edition in person. 1 guy was funny, telling the Apple rep "no use in getting edition when it'll be outdated next year". Also, saw the green, blue and pink bands and not much of a fan. So I guess white will be me.

I was kind of mad I could not get a black "rubber" band with the silver Sport so, I went white. I did pre-order the "Click" adapter though.

I live in NYC and I've yet to notice anyone with it

I haven't either. I have had mine all week, but have kept it under long sleeves. Tomorrow will be my first day with short sleeves and I have a feeling people will notice on the subway. That's not a good thing.

They'll look and move on in a second, it's New York

Had one earlier this week. Was checking out at the hardware store when my wife called. The lady behind me along with her 2 kids and the lady behind her nearly yelled "omg, that's the apple watch" right as I hit "dismiss". Then the cashier wanted to see it, asked a couple questions.

They all agreed it was cool. I told them the best part was I could ignore my wife's calls without taking out my phone. They didn't find it as funny as I did.

Also, for the record, I've decided in the future when somebody asks if it's an apple watch I'm just going to tell them no.

So far it's been more of a curiosity. People are surprised by how small it is (I have the 38mm). I think Apple got this part just right. People are used to "big" watches and even bigger smartwatches. By being comparatively small (i.e. the size of a traditional watch), Apple Watch stands out.

One thing I'm tired of is how people thinks the thing needs a separate cellular account. I can count on both hands how many people asked me "how much does it cost a month?" And then me telling them it's NOT A PHONE!

I'm sure they do. Hearing someone say "iTouch" drives me nuts and I only hear it rarely - they probably get it all the time.

I've noticed that Apple never pairs the "i" with a verb. We have iPad, iPhone, and iMac, but not iPay, iTouch, iWatch. iPay just sounds weird but the other two are downright creepy.

The first "Apple" named product was Apple TV, but I believe that was because of a lawsuit in Europe about a service called iTV? Correct me if I'm wrong. But after that, "Apple" named products are somewhat normal and co-exist with "I" named products.

Some guy said to me "look kids there's a guy with the apple watch." He goes on and says "anyone give you crap and hell for it because it's not worth it?" I go "I would tell these so called people that it's honestly none of their business to advise me on how to spend my money." He leaves. Mind you, this was during work when I was behind the counter as an employee haha

The first "Apple" product would be the Apple I. Then the Apple II, II+, IIe, IIgs, III, et al.

I have been getting a few more reactions out of it. I had my movie passes on it, and the lady with the scanner said that she wanted one very bad. I couldn't believe that I had the first one that she had seen.

I've had several people stop mid sentence when they see it and start talking about the watch.

"is that the apple watch?"
"do you like it?"
"what does it do?"
"how much does it cost?"

Today was the first time someone has really noticed mine. I was in Starbucks, pulling up Passbook so I could pay, and a young guy looked and asked if it was the new Apple watch and did I like it. Yes and YES!

Behind which counter?

Yes.
Yes no duh I bought it.
It tells the time.
Starts at $350.

Really awful questions that I get myself!

Does that tiny barcode on the watch actually work on their big scanner? If so, how does it work? Horizontal or vertical against the scanner? Always wondered for these past few days.

[After using Apple Pay at Duane Reade]

Cashier: Did you just pay with your Watch? That's dope!

It works great on their scanner. It turns itself landscape with a black background for optimum scanning. I've used it a few times now with no problems at all.

Two weeks later, no one has asked me about mine. I've seen more than a few people looking at it (I have a green one), but no questions.

2 Apple watches sites in one day

I'm in SW Florida , small town , at work today , a lady came in with her dog ( I work for a Veterinary Clinic) and while we were chatting and I was examining her dog , she looked at my wrist and said, " you also have and :apple: Watch , and I said "yes" , she had one too ... We laughed and exchanged impressions and small talk about how much we liked them... She had the Sport version , 38 mm with a white band , mine is the SS steel 42 mm with black band. Later on family and I went out to dinner and after , I needed some stuff from Bath and Body works , and the kid at the register also had a Sport 42 mm blue band , we also just went on talking about how great the Watch was and how much we liked it . I asked if the store took Apple Pay and he said yes and I made a comment it should be advertise since I could have paid that way , anyway ... for a small town , 2 watches in 2 completely different places and circumstances is telling me that this product is going to be very popular :D
