I'm actually a bit pissed on how many things I have to have plugged in, I know I know you aren't meant to keep chargers plugged in all day but in the real world who really takes them out? I love watches I have many and I love apple devices I have many however the fact that I have to charge every night for a watch...

Don't get this product at all, if it replaces the phone I'm there but as an accessory to a £700+ phone, now you are taking the piss just a little.

I'm always baffled by the "You mean I have to charge it every night?!?" comments. Do you not sleep for at least an hour and a half every day? Boom. There's your charge time.

If you're really using the heck out of it and find it's not getting through the day, you can always pop it on a charger for a quick boost or do some of the power saving tips posted here.

Kinda like you do with your iPhone.

I know, I know - "My phone never runs out of juice." Never? Well, for some of us, it's just a reality of how much we use our phones and for what. A charging cable in the car doesn't kill me, nor does one on my desk.

I am absolutely baffled by the people who think it's SUCH a pain in the butt to charge the Apple Watch every night. Apple really couldn't have made it any easier to charge this thing other than solar charging, which is probably coming in the future.

It mimics the way most people would treat a real watch: you take it off your wrist and lay it on the nightstand. The only difference is that your nightstand now has a disc you have to lay it on top of. There's nothing to plug in, and you barely even have to try to line it up. It does that on its own.

People who complain about stuff like that just blow my mind.

Its not about time, its about two things for me.

1. How much environmental crap am I pushing with my need to continuously charge now 4 devices every night...macbook, iPad, iPhone....Apple Watch?

2. When all things fail and I fall out of bed, the one fail safe i need is that something in my house gives me the time....whether it be drunken night out or burning the midnight oil or a power cut, my watch just handles it, I don't want to cut that umbilical cord.

Had that experience at two different Starbucks already. ;)

Lmao been doing this at Starbucks with my
Pebble for over a year now and they always have the same reaction, you guys think you're all first and special haha

Have you ever heard of traveling? It's a thing.

Replace the phone? Like browse the web, watch movies, read books etc on your watch?

Uhm, it's a pebble. Who cares? Had to google a pebble.

Travelling? What about it? Just charge it.

It makes sense to me to replace the phone with the watch and then do the larger screen tasks on, well, a larger screen device, like an iPad or iPad Mini. I don't know why on earth anyone would want to watch movies on a phone.

I was mid typing a response but you nailed it

No we're just the first ones to do it that look like they have a single shred of fashion sense.

I've been using Passbook on my phone at the Starbucks drive through for years.

The Apple Watch is the first smart watch I'd feel okay about holding out the window to show to other people.

But, if your standards of attractive wristwear are lower, that's cool.

LOL.

The other night we had some relatives over. I was using my watch to change the music on the stereo, and my father in law goes, "OOOOHHHH is that your new Dick Tracy watch?" I showed him some of the features and he was pretty impressed.

I saw a lady wearing a SS with Milanese loop in public the other day. She had it on her wrist so loose that it was just hanging there. The heart rate sensor was definitely not working correctly, and I imagine she has to unlock it every time she uses it.

Then I saw her BMW keychain and figured she bought it more for looks than function.

Lol @ BMW poseurs

If you're referring to the original pebble, I agree it's not fashionable. I have the Pebble Steel, which looks great.

Went out Friday night in a college town. Had a few people ask me for an 'elevator pitch' about the watch, and everyone seemed very impressed. Best of all, I got a chick back to my apartment after using the watch as a conversation starter when she approached me ;)

Safe to say, I love this thing :D

So, she asked about your watch and you put her in your trunk?

#2 I can appreciate to a point, but surely between ipad/iphone/Apple Watch one of them will wake you?

On #1 I had to laugh... the sum impact of all that charging is piddling compared to using your PC even 3 years ago for instance. If the environmental impact bothers you just turn your hot water temperature down 2 degrees and forget it it will more than make up the difference.

People are getting waaay too carried away with such concerns these days.

APPLE IS RUINING THE ENVIRONMENT WITH ALL THIS CHARGING!!! ARGH!!!

Reading some people's comments on here honestly baffles me. I've been taking my watch off for 20 years. Instead of setting it on the counter in my bathroom its now on a charger. And my phone is by my bed charging just like it has been for 10+ years.

How oh how will I ever face these difficult and turbulent times when I, gasp, travel. The Apple Watch Charger is hardwired to your house. Correct? It doesn't work in hotel outlets does it?

Cashiers at Whole Foods flip out when I use the watch version of Apple Pay. My friends stop in mid sentence, their jaws hit the ground and ask me to demo everything it can do from A-Z. I also catch lots of strangers looking at my wrist, then dart their eyes away when I catch 'em.

I hear things like, "We're living in the future!" There's also the more skeptical, "What do you use it for?" My personal favorite, "But, my iPhone can do that." Or, "How much was it?" Or, "Wait, you can do phone calls on that thing?" Or, "I'll wait for the next one." The list goes on...

If your friends count as a public reaction, then here it is.
Once upon a time, in spanish class my friend decided it would be funny to press the find my iPhone button. the thing is my phone is in my pocket and its supposed to be in the "rack", so he rings it and boom she hears it but she quickly forgets about it when she sees my watch and says cool. But then later during the class my other friend calls me and my watch rings, i forgot to put it on ring. This was on Friday but it was cool.

So I have to carry an iPad all the time? My error when I said video. I meant videoclips. Or play games. I get what you mean. But I can't take my iPad with me everywhere and every time. I travel for work. Sometimes, while waiting for an order in a restaurant I check flipboard, browse, YouTube and stuff. Don't want that on my watch or bring iPad just for that.
