I have had nobody notice it, or at least nobody notice it and say anything to me.

A few days ago I decided to try paying at Starbucks with my card on the watch and that's the first time someone noticed. The guy gasped and said "My first Apple Watch!" and called over another employee to watch as I paid with it. He noticed my tattoo on the side of my wrist and asked if it interfered with the watch at all. I told him that it is only an issue if it's under the sensor. He seemed pretty impressed with it and it worked really easily.

I'm a substitute teacher and every class above grade three has noticed it and asked a few questions. They are always impressed with how you can read and send text messages. Also the staff at my local Starbucks gets a kick out of me paying with my watch. I haven't seen anyone else with one yet. When I went to my local Apple Store last weekend the staff said I was the first customer they'd seen with one.

I've had a SS Classic Buckle since April 24th, and I've had very few comments from strangers. After two days with the link bracelet, I get about 5 comments a day so far...

Perth WA- As I swiped my watch at Woollies to register my Rewards Card using the Stocard App, the girl said "Wow is that one of those new apple watches? I really want one of them but they are a bit expensive."

You forgot the Iic (we had an Apple II c)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_Apple_Inc._products

Still play a rom of Apple Panic every now and then. :)

LOVE my IIc. I still have it but haven't booted it in ages. Also still have my original Apple ImageWriter.

But I digress... the public is not interested in my IIc and certainly not my Apple Watch since I don't have it yet. :(

My wife has her 38mm SGS. We were playing with it while eating out the other day and no one batted an eye. We are in a tech heavy area (RTP, NC) so tech toys like this aren't unusual.

This has been my experience as well

Now that the word is out about Apple Watch failing to work if one has tattoos, the Starbucks Barista's are put off at Apple. Living in a huge major metropolitan city, the majority of Starbucks people and the a large percentage of youth population are ignoring Apple's limited use watch. Tattoo 's are extremely popular and mainstream in the city. Apple has killed the "cool " which is their claim to fame.

The high price does eliminate many of the moderate income earners.

Was wearing it at lunch today and the waiter goes "wow is that the apple watch, how do you like it?" Then he knocked a whole glass of water over my wife

I would argue that the sheep-like mentality of those getting sleeve tatoos, by the hundreds of thousands (millions?) in an effort to "look cool, defy authority and be different" has killed the cool factor much more then Apple ever did.

But that's just my personal opinion.

Thankfully, with so many people with sleeved up tattoos in big cities, people will soon think getting a tattoo is about as cool or rebellious and drinking PBR this fad will be over and the pendulum will soon / is swinging the other way.

I just wished I owned a tatoo removal studio.

Killed the cool? If people are really blaming Apple for their life decisions (surprise, light sensors are not going to work through some inked skin) then they really need to take a second and look inward instead of out. While many people have tattoos that vast majority do not. How can people complain about that in the first place outside of being annoyed that Apple did not disclose that sooner?

I have a small tattoo on my left wrist where I wear my watch. It's on the side, not under the Watch so it would never interfere with the sensor. I think the barista asking me about it was simply because the news picked up the whole "tattoo-gate" thing and ran with it, just like they did with "bend-gate" for the iPhone 6 Plus. He saw my watch, saw my tattoo and said "oh it works even though you have a tattoo?" because the headlines made it seem like having a tattoo anywhere at all would make your Apple watch stop working.

I've had friends ask me about the tattoo working with the watch as well. It's just misinformation spread by the news, just like when everyone was asking me if my 6 Plus was bent. I told the barista that tattoos only cause problems if they are right under the watch face and now he knows. Not a big deal.

Even then, I think it's only some color tattoos that are a problem — black ink should be okay.

I've had more employees at the Apple Store ask me about the watch than anyone in the wild, all during a 15 min appointment where I was deciding on what additional bands to order.

Apple should have either made sure employees could order them rather quickly or at least given them functioning models because some of them don't even know how the damn thing works!:apple:

I know I just went to look at bands, but if I was not an early adopter and I had to base buying one off the demos and blank units they have in the store, I'm not sure I'd buy one.

So after 2 weeks of no one saying anything to me, I had the Apple store people say something to me on Friday (of course), then the checkout person at The Container Store yesterday and today, the checkout person at Whole Foods was amazed that I could pay with my watch.

At AT&T Park earlier the 3 attendants watched as the ticket bar code was scanned. They were so excited with ooohs and aahs all around.

They'll look and move on in a second, it's New York

Yep, you're right. Non-issue.

Starbucks Baristas are cool?

Is Starbucks a chain of tattoo parlours in the US? Over here they tried to pass their black fluid (presumably tattoo ink?) off as coffee. That didn't end well

Such a terrible argument. Your observations in your "huge major metropolitan city" are not indicative of the success of the Apple Watch, which can be measured in unprecedented volume of sales when compared to the competition. Even though you might not have yet observed Starbucks baristas wearing the Apple Watch.

Why you think it's an argument is rather amusing. Fact is its nothing more than sharing an observation, which for some odd reason seems to upset you. But then again reality does tend to upset some people.

Anyone who's paying attention knows that Apple consistently sells massive numbers of products like iPhones, iPads and watches. It's the result of Apples well oiled hype machine in combination with their extremely effective marketing. It's what Apple does best... :)

The other night we had some relatives over. I was using my watch to change the music on the stereo, and my father in law goes, "OOOOHHHH is that your new Dick Tracy watch?" I showed him some of the features and he was pretty impressed.

I saw a lady wearing a SS with Milanese loop in public the other day. She had it on her wrist so loose that it was just hanging there. The heart rate sensor was definitely not working correctly, and I imagine she has to unlock it every time she uses it.

Then I saw her BMW keychain and figured she bought it more for looks than function.

Just Sprouts and used Apple Pay at check out. She said 'Oh cool is that the new iWatch? ' I said yes it's the Apple Watch and showed her the watch face. Then she goes 'I love the strap it looks so classy'.

I don't even mind tattoos and this seems hilariously accurate, much appreciated :D

Question: do you wear your watch when you're asleep? I guess you don't, right? Then why is it a problem to charge the Apple Watch every day? In fact, even if my iPhone lasts for two days, I naturally put it on the charger every night. So it makes no difference at all. Same with the Apple Watch.

Don't see why people should be complaining about having to charge a device every night.. Well, I don't have the Apple Watch yet, so I can't figure out what could be wrong with that... :p

I'm actually a bit pissed on how many things I have to have plugged in, I know I know you aren't meant to keep chargers plugged in all day but in the real world who really takes them out? I love watches I have many and I love apple devices I have many however the fact that I have to charge every night for a watch...

Don't get this product at all, if it replaces the phone I'm there but as an accessory to a £700+ phone, now you are taking the piss just a little.
