I used it at the gym to check in (via a barcode scan)
I used it to pay for groceries at Whole Food
I used it at the mall to return messages
I even used it to quickly answer a phone call

Nobody really noticed or said anything (even when people saw me talking into my watch).

I was out yesterday and no one asked about it nor seemed to care. On Friday my CFO noticed it and said 'I figured you'd get one of those' lol. He knows I'm an apple guy

I got a couple of "Oh, that's cool!" Yesterday. But, the biggest reaction I got was when I stopped in the Apple Store last night to buy Apple Care for it. Several sales associates gathered round to watch me pay for Care with Apple Pay from the watch.

Friday some folks at work asked about it. Saturday I got stopped a couple of times in the mall, and asked for a demo in a pub. Today, I paid with Apple Pay at Walgreens and the cashier and guy behind me were amazed. And I stopped in to pick up some items at this little shop I frequent, and the guy there took a photo to send to a friend of his.

It's been a lot of fun!

I love my macbook pro, i love my iPhone 6 and i love my iPad. The Apple watch i have zero interest in. So if I ever did see one out in public it wouldn't get much interest from me either.

You have a funny definition of "zero interest" if you are not only surfing the forum but taking time out of your day to post that you don't have interest

Your post sounds more like excuses to not have one than actual lack of interest. Maybe you can't afford one so you are tying to justify why it's *smart* to not have one  (especially when you make a point to list the items you do have as some sort of brag list)

I had two watches (wife's + mine) delivered to work. I had planned to keep it low key, take them home, unpack them there and get to know them over the weekend.

When they arrived the receptionist called me and was very excited to tell me that the Apple Watches had arrived (I had mentioned it to no one). The TNT courier obviously knew what the parcels were, and told her to hand them over straight away so they wouldn't get lost :D

She was very curious and excited so I decided to open mine right there at the reception desk for her to take a look. She was interested in one herself but hadn't ordered one yet. The price was mentioned, she knew how much the Sports models cost, I just told her it was quite a bit more because of SS and more expensive band :)

My colleagues then all had a polite look, I'm glad nobody asked me to take it off and pass it around. They were thoroughly impressed with the pairing procedure, which I performed in front of them :D

Over the weekend I didn't notice anybody noticing it, and I was fine with that. That's the way it should be.

The reaction from my friends was good and strangers were looking at it, but did not approached me about it.

I wonder how long before the thieves start to notice them. Is there a find my iWatch feature? I own a Tag, but from a distance it could just be a $80 fossil stainless steel watch. The bright colored bands seem like they are just inviting theft....I guess we shall see.

The idea of having to put your watch on charge every day just sucks, I have a Casio GBA 400. That will do me just fine :)

Then why are you trawling the apple watch forum? :D

I actually do think it will be hard for thieves to steal an Apple Watch from your wrist. It's quite heavy (at least, as of what I've read in a lot reviews), so you would feel when it's not there. Also, when walking your arms constantly move around. So you get to see the Watch the whole time. And last but not least, the Apple Watch is strapped on your wrist with a band. Especially the Sport band, the Modern Buckle e.g. won't be easy to take off. Milanese Loop is another story. :p

I don't think thieves will even try to steal an Apple Watch. Could be wrong of course. :p

I chatted with a couple people about it at the apple store when I went to buy another charging cable. Also a couple people at a volleyball tournament asked me about it, but nothing too crazy yet.

Yeah, probably easier to steal an iPhone from your back pocket or purse.

It's also probably not worth a whole lot if it can't be used. Which we will have to see if a stolen watch can be paired and used.

I paid for my coffee at Starbucks this morning and the woman at the drive thru window said it was the first one they have seen! My family is not surprised that I have one and they are a little jealous :) My 12 year old niece thinks I am super cool so that's fun :apple: Tomorrow I will be with a lot of different people and it will be interesting to see if many of them notice. I have not worn a watch in many years!

There is a feature in the watch settings to wipe out all the data, which I assume means it can then be paired to any phone as new. But I'll also throw out there that Apple Watch, while expensive, is massively cheaper than many watches people have been wearing for a long time (except edition of course)

We went out to eat last night. The waiter spied my Apple Watch and wanted to buy it from me. I caught him looking at me later with a look that said, "I'm going to take your Apple Watch." He spent a lot of time at our table. It was kind of creepy.

First, you need to re-enter your code if the watch come off your wrist. So a thief that swiped one off of you wouldn't have access to just erase it.

Phones have an option to wipe them clean too, but once the ESN is reported as stolen then they can't be used.

I'd be curious if the Watch has some sort of verification feature when pairing to a phone.

Most of my watches cost far more than the Watch and I've never had someone try to strip one off me.

I always have my CCW on me, so no worries here :)

I went to dinner with some friends on Friday night, and one of them asked me about it. Otherwise, I haven't been out in public enough with it for anyone to take notice. I did use it at Starbucks yesterday, but the cashier didn't even bat an eye when I used it to pay via Passbook.

Most people don't even know the Apple watch exist.

nah. Beyonce has MILLIONS of followers. So does Drake, Karl Lagerfield, JJ Abrams, Katy Perry, Anna Wintour, & Sam Smith (even though he called it an iWatch lol). Millions also tune into the Voice every single week, so Pharrell's has been seen. Its been on almost every news channel, not to even mention the promo commercial & the 3 new commericals that just came out. Its been on some of the most popular websites, such as buzzfeed, the inquirer, vogue.com, forbes.com, wall street journal. Its been trending on twitter for so long as well. The Apple Watch is EVERYWHERE.

It may not be the talk of the town in your neighborhood, & there may not be that many walking as of yet, but there are an abundant of people who have seen the apple watch at least once by today.

So people that follow celebrities, read tabloid or fashion mags and watch daytime TV.

You may be amazed to know that not every person in "business" reads every article in the WSJ or Forbes daily.

Not everyone is on Twitter.

Even if you had 3.2 million followers on (choose your show/twitter/etc) that still barely hits the 1% mark of just the population in the USA!

There my be millions of people that know about it, but there are BILLIONS of people on earth. So the majority still might not know.
